A friend of my uncle was hawking gala years back, the guy struggled and opened a female clothing store. When my uncle came back from USA and saw the guy's house he felt like he wasted his years abroad.

There is money in Nigeria just that slaying won't let guys enter real hustle.

Hawk gala and build house? There is more than meets the eye and the more you look the less you see.some people are into shady deals and just use a menial jobs as a cover. Some are into drugs but tells you they are importers. So forget that one .

I have lived in Britain and see its better in Abroad, so far you are not lazy you will survive and live comfortably after paying your bills. Just be ready to face racism and you have less freedom.

In Nigeria, even if you are hardworking where is the work to even do to survive. The uncertainty in Nigeria is just too much. Prices of food is increasing everyday with no increase in income. Tribalism and nepotism is rife here, the future is getting bleak everyday, no hope for our young ones.

This is very wrong!

You're making it look like she's earning in USD and spending in Naira.

Her bills are in USD!

lifestyle1:

If she earns $8 per hour

#8 * #365 = #2920 per hour

If she works for 10 hours daily

2920 * 10 = #29,200 daily

If she works for 25 days

#29,200 * 25 = #730,000

My brother there is nothing there joor, I have mingled with these traders , they just understand what most people don't , Nigeria is a huge market whatever you put out there will sell, this one guy just opened beverage store in my area last year, by the look of things that store did not worth up to 200 k then, now I will be surprised if the store is worth less than 3 m , he does not go farther than idomota after which he spends his whole day there.

Moreover I said the guy later opened a clothing store , he did not sell gala for long for life.

Anyone who traveled to America with the intention of packing money and become a millionaire end up dissapointed cos there is no money to pack in America or other western nations.
However, others who traveled to America with the intention of living a quality life in a sane environment irrespective of how much money they have in their account are always not dissapointed.

At the end of the day, it depends on what you want. The problem with Nigerians and other third world countries is that all we ever want is money, more money, money and more money. We don't actually care about any other thing in life outside money and that is why the country is a mess today. So when we take this mindset to America, we see we can't make that kind of money even agberos make in Nigeria, disappointment set in.

if the ascertion above is CORRECT then i better have that opportunity to work in the US, but we have to consider her daily expenses with basic needs(shelter/food/clothing) doing the plus or minus, then we will see if its better or not!!

From the calculation I can help break down expenses.
730k is like 1800 usd monthly that's if she doesn't miss a day.

Rent average depending on area a bedroom can cost up to 650 -820 usd depending on location.

If you have a car gas monthly is average of 35 usd weekly.

Phone bill 40 usd if using metro line, but with Sprint it might be cheaper

Electricity fluctuates your bill can rise up to 250 usd during this mad cold cos u need heater if u don't want village people to sing he was once a good fellow for you.

Internet is extremely cheap so one can be on 10 usd unlimited monthly if using xinfinity platform.

Water rate 80 usd monthly .

With 1800 earned per month you would spend at least 1300 on utilities.

But rather than discourage people encourage them to get their papers right and have a plan, US is not for the faint hearted , everything works from light to good roads , public schools are fantastic for the kids till they enter college.
Once one has a plan in place in the US the Sky is the limit..
If one works hard and most importantly be prayerful , if you survive naija forget you would survive anywhere just know your limits and expectations.

What do I need USA for when I ve all I need in Nigeria.
I ve Been enjoying 24hr power supply for the past 1month now and I ve the money to pay for the bill.
I ve all I want but I only want to be richer so as to easily help others in distress

Comprehension gone wrong.
The guy said in very simple 'English ' that after hawking gala the man struggled to open a female clothing store, after which he built a house. Now this is very possible depending on how successful the clothing business went.

must you carry evrytin enter bible? ××××[[
Malakh:
America is called Egypt for a reason, its called Egypt Deu 28:68,because it's a land of captivitity, we are all captives to the system in America, if you believe you are not a captive then why do you pay taxes on cars, houses, groceries just about anything if we were in our land and our own king then we wouldn't be subject to anybody but you guys must understand that it's history repeating itself again, just as it happened in old Egypt,it will happen again to modern Egypt, Egypt means bondage/captivity, well we the Hebrew Israelites called negroes have hope becuae our captivity is just for 400 years, we came in 1619 by 2019 towards 2022 we shall leave our land of captivity before Egypt is destroyed again by Medes, I said towards 2022 because they've added days to our lunar calendar which is 360 days a year, 30 days by 12 months is 360 which is a perfect circle, now the Gregorian calendar is 365,now add those five days with the leap years and you'll find out we still have a few years after 2019 in Egypt there's nothing under the sun, Yahshua will deliver us again,He will send His Angels to deliver us out of captivity,as a matter of fact we are going back into slavery this is why they have Fema camps, we wont be delivered during Passover not until we are held fast(imprisoned, incarcerrated) by Pharaoh who does not know the children of Israel, in other words black so-called people are strangers to him, we must also understand that if Africa was doing fine, we wouldn't wanna come to Egypt, well if we dont come to Egypt then how will Yah deliver some of us into our land in Israel, I could go on but we are all captives naturally and spiritually our King has to come and deliver us

USA is the country of bills...
(Monthly by force)
Rent/Mortgage
Gas for your house
Petro for car $2.50+ a gallon
Electricity/Power aka NEPA
Car Insurance
Food bill is $400.00 month cook at home
Health Insurance
Internet/landline
Cell phone
(If you are approved or wants)
Credit card
Dry cleaning
Outing-club, movie, dinner, party such as wedding, wake keeping.
School fees ( if children dont go to public)
If you don't make at least NGN1.5 to 2 million each month in America you are living in poverty. That is a middle class income.

Your post got me thinking.

Can we stratify economic classes in Nigeria and conduct a proper statistical survey to find where every citizen of this country belong?

My broad classification is thus (based on total income for average family size of father, mother and 2 pre-teen children):

very low income - zero-N70,000/month
fairly low income - N70,000-N200,000.00/month

lower middle income - N200,000.00-N850,000.00/month
upper middle income - N850,000.00-N4,500,000.00/month

high income - N4,500,000.00-N10,000,000.00/month
very high income - N10,000,000.00-infinity

Prof. Wole Soyinka says :

'WHERE DID WE GO
WRONG?

WAKE UP NIGERIAN YOUTHS!'~~~

"Awolowo was 37 years,
Akintola 36,
Ahmadu Bello 36,
Balewa 34,
Okotie-Eboh 27
and Enahoro 27

And they led the struggle for Nigeria Independence after
the death of Macaulay. Only Zik was 42 at the time!

In 1966, the first military coup was led by K
Nzeogwu who was 29 years

and countered by

M.Mohammed 28,
T. Danjuma 28,
I. Babangida 25,
J. Garba 23,
Sani Abacha 23,
and M. Yar'adua 23,

And brought into power

Y. Gowon 32,
Ojukwu 33,
Obasanjo 29,
And Buhari 24!

Most of the military governors who governed the
states under the successive military regimes were
under 30 years.

Also, the brief democratic dispensation which interjected the military interregnums also saw some
Senators and members of the House of
Representatives, in particular, populated by persons
under 30!

Under 30's were also not in short supply with
appointments - we have examples of

MT Mbu who
became Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister at 23

and Pat Utomi who became a Federal Adviser at 27

And so on and so forth!

NOW: Why is it that almost all this age bracket is today still sleeping in 3-seater chairs in their
parents’ homes?

Why is it that this age bracket is today still
collecting pocket money from their parents?

Why is it that this age bracket is today still writing JAMB?

Why is it that this age bracket today still 'sagg' their trousers?

Why is it that this age bracket is today still
searching for jobs and not yet married?

Why is it that this age bracket is today no longer qualified to even be leaders of youth wings of political parties?

Why is it that this age bracket is today so docile?

Why is this age bracket today incapable of feeding itself?

Why is it that this age bracket is today barred from even aspiring to certain political offices?

Why is it that this age bracket is today incapacitated, unwilling, unable and incapable of
asking questions?

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!"

From Prof Wole Soyinka.

This is real Food for Thought!

COPIED AS RECEIVED.

#2800per hour X 18hrs = #50400

#50400 X 28Days = #1411200

#1411200 X 12Months = #16,934,400

#16,934,400 X 5years = #84,672,000

True talk but madam you are still there in USA. No doubt America is land of opportunities and as long as you plan you life well and God on your side, you will surely succeed.

My only concern is that a lot of chaffs are finding their way into that country, people without any qualifications or skills some can't even speak or write good English.

Having said that, Nigerian youths needs to wrestle the soul of this nation from these greedy and worthless old politicians that have nothing to offer, all they just want free access to tax payers money and power.

We need to move this nation forward and it's very simple to do. Just have a selfless and visionary leader that goes for the best regardless of who you are or your tribe or religion.

You are probably right. It all depend on where you belong to. There are Nigerians of different classes here. Those that belong to the top 24% American income category and those below, and those at the bottom. It all depend on how you get here and what resources you have invested. It's the reality of life. I've personally experienced the high end career and 6-figure income, and also experienced the other side in attempt to pursue life-long goals and escape "the matrix".

Lesson, don't even contemplate moving here if you do not possess skill sets that can guarantee your independence if normal job is not forthcoming. And about the sister in the video, people put stuffs in storage for several reasons. She is likely new here and does not have a clue. But in summary, the pasture is not always green on the other side. It's a normal thing. A Nigerian lady i met told me of how she came to US on holiday few years back and seeing how rosy everything looked she decided to quit her job in Nigeria and moved here. Now she has overstayed her visa, can't secure employment and stuck with baby-sitting to earn a living.
