People already buy bags gor their waste. I hope they are not selling this their stupid bags and trying to impose it on people . I know they can decide not to dispose your waste if it's not in their branded waste bag. These useless politicians just want to make money and embezzle.

Soon these bags would become nuisance/refuse after the expiration of their useful life. Sadly its not organic hence cannot decay.

PSP worked and kept Lagos clean.

What they need are industrials kids in every street where residents dump there waste and at the end of every week dump trucks will take them to landfills. Meanwhile, the residents will be proportionally taxed for their waste. Everybody benefits, it creates jobs,clean and safe environment, as well as revenues for the council.

Lagos is very dirty.

Come to Yaba, Oyingbo, Ojuelegba and Mushin axis to see huge dump of refuse on the main road at moment. You'll be shocked.
More than 2/3 of most roads have been consumed by refuse.
Some people are just plainly stupîd and wicked. They just dump refuse by the road side every night and whenever it rains, they just throw it directly into the gutter there by causing havoc on others.

MAY GOD PUNISH ALL THESE PEOPLE WITH CONTINUOUS POVERTY

Nigerians are just filthy, nasty, ignorant and dirty people by nature. If they’re not peeing or sh8ting on the side of the roads, they’re coughing with their mouths open and throwing trash in the gutters.

I hope the recent actions by the Governor helps his situation in 2019.

One needs to be wary of “free” things from government because it is paid for by the people through their own taxes, levies, rates and other IGR sources plus federal allocation collected on their behalf as well as loans that they will pay later.
Having this in mind, the people should ask whether this is the best way to use their money while roads, schools, clinics, water, electricity etc are in terrible shape?
Not forgetting the issue of how much the government bought the “free” items

Hey bro, don't be deceived this so called "initiative" is just another conduit to syphon government funds all in the name contract to a party loyalist! We buy trash bags aplenty in the markets as well.

Isn't it a SHAME that in 2018 a country with such a huge population does not have a system to manage waste!

There is a plant somewhere that has contract to produce thrash bags for Lagos Government. This plant will more than triple its output in order to meet daily demand for waste deposits around Lagos. It must therefore hire additional headcount to meet needed staffing level for round-the-clock operation.

To all of you criticizing this initiative, think about those who did not have job and means of steady income to live but the new year is starting well for them. Please think about them and praise Ambode for these bags, however irrational it looks.

THE CLEANER LAGOS MODEL IS A TOTAL FAILURE ON ARRIVAL. THEIR STRUCTURE COMPLETELY JETTISONED THE OLD STRUCTURE OF COMMUNAL WASTE MANAGEMENT ..

THE PSP's WERE INDIGENOUS PECULIAR TO THEIR AREA , LOCAL ROAD CLEANERS HAD LOCAL SUPERVISORS WHO MADE SURE THEY WORKED FINE .. THE SYSTEM WAS FINE AND JUST NEEDED A LIL TWEAK.. LIKE THE ISSUE OF DELAYED PAYMENT TO THE PSP OPERATORS AND ADEQUATE PROVISION FOR WASTE DUMPING AND RECYCLING.. ..
