Fulani: How did you know this is your land?
Bunu: Our fathers lived here.
Fulani: Where did your parents get it from?
Bunu: From their fathers
Fulani: How did your grandfathers get it?

Kogi is a strategic state in the jihad misson of Islamizing Nigerian because it share borders with the northern and southern states. Now they have a safe heaven in kogi to fall back to after launching attacks down south. In addition, they can host their jihadist brothers In kogi before heading out for midnight raids on little girls and food stuffs.

This is just how these Fulani herdsmen and their clique, cause trouble in Nigeria. You migrate en-masse into someone's land, without any permission and take up residence there. sad

That piece of land would definitely belong to someone or some community, yet they have disregarded that fact, and decided to camp there. angry If the owner raises an objection or tries to evict them for trespassing, they will claim they are being attacked and would launch an attack on the community.

And people like PStacks will write lengthy epistles, justifying their act of wanton and wilful trespass, upon another person's land. Tell me, when things degenerate to the level of hostility, who bears the brunt?

If a report is filed against them at the police station, the authorities will turn a blind eye. sad When fight starts now, you will see arms flying round - left, right and centre. It is a pity that Kogi people have a renegade, clueless, narcissistic joker who claims to be in charge of the state, at the govt house.

I need you to pick up a dictionary and look up the meaning of Normadic Herders..

they are not settlers, they only migrate.

migration is only in search of food and water.

I am sure u are a christain. Look up your Bible and see where God told Abraham to leave his father land and was to take him to a land Abraham new nothing about.

would you say Abrahams migration was to dispose people of their land.

when Joseph and his brothers were tending to their fathers floks, they migrated so far in search of food and water and that was why they could commit a crime against Joseph by wanting to kill him but later sold him to slavery in egypt.

the brothers could perpetrate that act cos they were far far away from home as a result of some sort of migration.

you see! It is not only Fulani herdsmen that migrates. Herdsmen all over the world migrate and Migration pre dates us.

people started migrating as far back 400BC.

The problem here is not migration,
the problem is Acceptance, tolerance, peaceful and mutual coexistence.

the issues are simple.

drought, starvation and hunger are driving these people further down south cos of adverse envinronmental factors like Desertification, climate change..

Lets put it in lay man's term. Nigeria is shrinking from the North in terms of availabilty of water and green.

do you then expect those in the 11 states of the north affected by the ever encrouching deserts to remain in the desert for the desert to kill them and their Life stock?

PDP squandered Ecological funds they should have used in fighting the deserts stand still.

these problems are over whelming and it is convinient for you to just sit there and say Buhari is not doing nothing

The beginning of an emirate. It is following the same pattern of all the Fulani conquests in Northern Nigeria. Buhari is a Dan Fodio incarnate. And he's keen to be remembered as such by his kinsmen.

What will begin as "settlements/colonies" will eventually evolve into communities that have schools, infirmaries, markets, serikis and eventually emirates that would have government backing.

Exactly.

these problems are over whelming and it is convinient for you to just sit there and say Buhari is not doing nothing

And I need you to pick up a dictionary and look up the meaning of the word "trespass," as well as "dispossession" and "criminal offence." Did I not say you would come back in here, to write a lengthy epistle to justify the Fulani herdsmen's wilful transgressions? Yes, you have not disappointed me.

Am glad you quoted the Bible, and mentioned Abraham's migration. undecided When God gave Abraham his marching orders, He never told Abraham to trespass upon other people's lands, or covet their crops and property. Neither did He tell Abraham to nourish himself, his family and their livestock, at the expense of others' lives or their source of livelihood.

Your problem is that you believe others must be dispossessed of their land and crops, in order for the Fulani to survive. angry This arrogant mindset which does NOT acknowledge the fact that other people have their own survival challenges, and the right to live peacefully on their own land within their territory and domain, will always jeopardise any migration plan of the Fulani herdsmen into the Middle-Belt. It is why their migration, will always be met with resistance. sad The Fulani pastoralists do NOT have any rights, over the ancestral and communal lands of other ethnic groups, simply because they are nomadic herdsmen!

Dubai was a desert, and so were many parts of present-day Israel before they reclaimed it, and made it habitable for their people. Today, Dubai is a tourist destination, with a healthy economy. Your Fulani big men and people in authority, will not understudy them and learn how to turn the northern fringes of their desert into an oasis. They will not learn how to reverse or mitigate the bad effects of drought and climatic changes.

Instead, the arable land which is shrinking in the Middle Belt due to leaching, overflooding, mining activities and population expansion, is what they want to trespass upon by force, and find a way to frustrate farmers and their families, into handing over to them. Their evil plans will not succeed. angry

If drought and desertification is chasing the Fulani herdsmen further south, please be informed that the communities in the Middle Belt have their own peculiar challenges too, as their arable land and crop yields have shrunk considerably, and in some cases, it can no longer meet all their needs. But they have not moved into other areas, to chase away their neighbours, or trespass wilfully on land that does NOT belong to them.

The migration process of 400 BC, is totally different from the migration activities of 21st Century. Today you would probably require a passport, hotel booking and visa, to go on the same journey that Abraham did. You cannot just wake up, and decide to lay claim to the lands of others or take over their property, because you are a nomadic herdsman. In any sane society, you would be thrown in jail, or fined heavily after eviction. The laws are there for a reason. And the Fulani herdsmen must be reminded at every turn, that the freedom to swing their arms, ends where the nose of other tribes begin! angry

Most of the food we consume come from the North, if they can plant food, they can plant grass, and feed the cattle without any need to walk the length and breath of the country.

And incidentally, the state is cursed with the worst governor in the history of nigeria. Why are they at okun? They should be redirected to okene, yahaya bello's hometown, there are better grasses there

And you see, this is the problem. An Ebira governor is using Yoruba people as his lab rats and footstool! Why did Bello not take the fulanis to Okene?

Where are the nairaland hardcore yorubanists like Alariiwo, markfemi e. t. c. Come and watch another case of Ilorin in Okun! These fulanis from here will spread to Osun, Ogun, Ondo & Oyo. They have finally found a permanent base and territory in yoruba land alas.
