For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life'.

This means that if I don't believe in Jesus christ( Gods son) I will burn forever in hell, Correct?

My confusion is What happens to the billions of people on earth from the time of Jesus until his gospel of salvation reached the entire earth like the Africans, Asians etc.

Bear it in mind that there are many alive today that will live and die without ever hearing of Jesus Christ. Will they burn in hell too? How does one believe in someone that they have never heard of?!?

Some where, some place there are people who have not heard of JC. There are still places in the world which have not seen civilization.

Those cities must have been inherently places where evil reigns or an abomination to God. In this modern age, i dont think Jesus after his death excluded any place but charged the disciples to preach the gospel to everyone and the bible wont go further to say the world wont come to an end until everyone knows him. Now the latter part of that statement of yours is on a deeper level, on a spiritual level.

Knowing God in that verse is not same as hearing of Jesus Christ or Christianity, its of a more deeper meaning Jesus was referring to there. The OP was referring to people who havent "heard" of him not know him as Jesus talked about. Many people call themselves christians but dont really know God or Jesus. Take for example, I have heard of Obama but do i know Obama? No i do not, i have only heard of him.

And yes, for you to "know" God, he must reveal himself to you as Jesus meant in that verse. Preaching or what have you cannot do it, nobody can make you know God, its a personal experience/journey.

That you shared a knowledge to someone about God or Jesus doesnt mean that person already qualifies as a true christian. There is a level you get to with God that if you falter, it will be more grievous than someone who is just getting to know God and still has questions. I believe the bible said something about being judged by the measure of your faith and at another verse talked about the continuing renewing of your mind and not conform to this word. The word "renewing" there already shows that it is a continuous process and no one can be changed to a true christian in an instant. It even went further that no one should boast about being perfect in God or a true believer lest he falls, we must seek to constantly make amends where it is needed.

Obviously, there is a strata to the believe in GOD/Christianity, and the top cant be judged as those just ascending the ladder will. It also shows why the bible said, God will begin his judgement from the church.
