Because males can easily get infected if they're uncircumcised. The foreskin is very susceptible to HIV infection and herpes. A lot of guys won't be able to wash underneath the foreskin very well and it's going to bring very bad smell. And an uncircumcised dick looks disgusting.

That's no exaggeration, when a lady is circumcised she feels nothing down there. That's why they circumcise women in the first place, cos they don't want them to have any sexual urge

It's clear that nobody is intelligent enough to understand and answer my questions.

to rephrase the question, Why is there circumcision at all? If it's bad for the females, it should also be the same for the male. Why arent they left the way they are from the beginning ?

If you say circumcision is bad for females and should be stopped, why do you do it to the males?

And please don't bring in religion into this, I don't indulge in fables and fairy tales.

If you're so intelligent & already know the answer to your question. Why ask it in the first place?

name just one medical danger to keeping the foreskin

Two conditions can occur with the foreskin of the penis of an uncircumcised or improperly circumcised boy or man, 1) phimosis and 2) paraphimosis

Phimosis: This condition occurs when the foreskin cannot be retracted (pulled back) behind the head (glans) of the penis. This is called phimosis. It is usually a condition found in children and occasionally adults. Physiological phimosis is the normal condition that occurs mainly during the first year of life when the foreskin is not retractable in these young males. This may occur until about 3 years of age. This condition is not a congenital problem such as buried penis (the penis is located beneath the abdominal skin). Phimosis can often lead to a painful type of infection called balanitis.
Paraphimosis: This condition, paraphimosis, is somewhat the opposite of phimosis. The foreskin, after being pulled back, becomes trapped and then swollen behind the head (glans) of the penis.
The swelling can lead to blockage of blood flow to the penis, which can lead to gangrene of the penile shaft and head distal to the welling.
Paraphiosis is considered a true medical emergency. Circumcision (surgical removal of the foreskin) at birth or revision of a prior circumcision can prevent this condition.

stop making dis look more complicated...in male circumcision only the fore skin is removed..but female...the organ itself (clitoris) is cut off..its like cutting off making the person unable to enjoy sex..dey will be like dead woods in bed..not all dat is good for the goose is good for the gander...its like removing the skin of the hand in male..but in female..its like cutting off the hand totaly..if u still don't understand..then go check your brain... becos it will be like u are not intelligent enough to understand simple answer..

There are million reasons:
1.clitoridectomy: removal of the clitorial hood with or without the clitoris(in my own opinion it is very dangerous)

i.FGC(female genital cutting) has immediate potential side effects which include:
-severe pains
-Haemorrhage
-injury to the adjacent tissue and organs
-Shock
-infection
-urinary retention and Tetanus..

Long term effects

this is Wikipedia on foreskins:
The World Health Organization debates the precise functions of the foreskin, which may include "keeping the glans moist, protecting the developing penis in utero, or enhancing sexual pleasure due to the presence of nerve receptors".

so can you take your lie elsewhere...

why us that accusation a poorly intellect fellow's only quote?
nobody is bringing religion into it, whereas religion is well enshrined into the practice! Read up the origin of circumcision and you would shut up once and for all. if u had the grown up mind to read my previous comment you would see I gave my take without religion but now I was responding to a simple question and don't pretend you don't know circumcision has its roots from religion as early practice of men before the advent of science. Routine/Neonatal male circumcision should be termed MALE GENITAL MUTILATION.

The benefits of male circumcision are exagerrated and the downsides downplayed by ridiculous statistics. Mutilation of babies, of any gender, of any form is absolutely UNNECESSARY, unless for entirely medical reasons.

NO SINGLE professional medical organization in the world recommends it---and that says a lot. So much for the remarkable "health benefits".

European medical organizations condemn American doctors for routine male circumcision (what does that tell you?).

All children have the right to bodily integrity, and even parents should not be allowed to tamper with it. It is criminal and barbaric. Circumcision should be recommended only for medical reasons. There's no reason why my boy should have his foreskin chopped off to be branded as a member of someone's religion, or to satisfy the demand of a person's culture or tradition. If he should be circumcised at all, it should be voluntary, based on INFORMED CONSENT.

PS: Justifications of improved hygiene and disease prevention are ILLOGICAL. Removing a young female's breast tissue to prevent breast cancer later in life would be considered unethical.

butteflylion:

Well generally it is necessary and that "generally" includes the 0.5% because in the benefits listed the hygiene aspect was already highlighted.

Take a look at the list of benefits I provided again and also read the site I gave about personal testimonies from those who have been circumcised.

CoolUsername:

The benefits are overblown and do not justify the procedure. Hygiene is the job of the parents and they shouldn't be allowed to chop off a part of their son for easy maintenance.

Would you remove your child's appendix to prevent appendicitis in the future? If not, then the marginal effect circumcision has on preventing STIs in the contentious studies that prove it shouldn't be enough for you to permanently remove a part of a child, especially when we have condoms.

You also neglected to consider to functions of the foreskin, which include:
Protection of the glans from abrasions which reduce sensitivity and ultimately mild erectile dysfunction, provision of extra skin to allow the penis to naturally grow to its full size (the scarring caused by circumcision can impede growth), increased sensitivity (the foreskin has a ring of specialized nerve-endings), etc.

So why cut off a fully-functional part of the body because it takes slightly extra effort to rinse?

Faxole, what do you think?

I usually tend to stay away from subjects like this because to pontificate accurately on them, one needs to have a strong grounding in medicine or human biology, a grounding which unfortunately I don't have.

But from the little I have read, I think male circumcision is allowed in most cultures because in men, cutting off the foreskin tends to accrue certain health and hygienic benefits. The reason female circumcision is perceived as objectionable in most parts of the world, from the little I have read, is due to the fact that it kills the sensitivity of various parts of a woman's genitalià, hence making sex painful rather than pleasurable. I have also read that it makes them more susceptible to various kinds of vaginal infections.

This is true. I agree. One needs to get his facts right, hence the need for caution. That's the trademark of an intellectual.

But from the little I have read, I think male circumcision is allowed in most cultures because in men, cutting off the foreskin tends to accrue certain health and hygienic benefits. Many of these claims are exagerrated, and supported by obscure facts that have no definitive grounding. They contain half-truths, myths and ridiculous double standards, and remain debatable even within elite professional medical organizations----the very authorities on such matters.

THAT'S WHY NONE OF THEM RECOMMENDS IT. It is also because it is a subject grounded in uncertainty and intersects with religion and culture that they also haven't called for its ban.

no foreskin=dry chaped thick peniis head that bears scars from injuries by hot showers, zippers, tough jeans and the like.
foreskin=soft tender warm moist sensitive peniis head that makes sex enjoyable.
cut men fcvk hard like mad men coz they cant feel a thing.
uncut men fvck slowly and romantically coz they feel every stroke.
