Please no bad words.

I have a sizable number of investments. Every month I make about 400k from my investments. I also invested in crypto. The market has been crazy these past weeks, but even with the recession I have about $100k. But I have not cashed out. I don't want to. I want to keep it till year's end, when it may be bigger or maybe zero. who knows.
Then I have my job, which isn't bad, which has earned me all of this. But I'm getting tired of it already and I want to quit. Hoping to live on the 400k I make every month from my investments and a possible larger payout from crypto by the end of the year. What do you think?

Just a few words of advice.

i was hoping to see a guy who had 2billion naira in the bank, with 1.5 billion of it in fixed deposit giving him 10 - 15% interest yearly and the other 500million in a savings account, saying this.

Have you thought of the following....

(1) Do you have a house of your own or are you payin rent?
(2) How secure are those investments that yield 400k?
(3) Do you have a family with kids? Are your kids all grown up or still in school? This is a major factor in any decision you wanna take.

Sincerely 400k is not a lot of money to live on forever. Inflation rate in Nigeria is quite high. That amount will pale into insignificance in a few years time if you don't grow your investments.

You need to think twice about quiting your job, but as regard the crypto its better for you to cash out now because there are lots of hidden things about the increase and decrease in value. I don't want to sound as Mr. Know It All but I can tell you that lots of things was hidden front crypto investors.

Quit and go full time into diversifying your investments, buy assets like land, etc. I just think that when you quit, even though you have a steady stream every month. . .it doesn't hurt to keep making more. I'm still an undergraduate though. Don't take my word for it, I'm just saying what I'd do.

How can you make that kind of money legally in Nigeria starting from scratch and when you're not born with a gold spoon in your mouth? Buhari government has made some people so dumb and made them reason from their smelly black ass lol

My friend, my candid advise is please quit that job and face your investment squarely. It will grow higher in no time and you will come back here singing song of praises. As for Crypto, it will bounce back and come to stay, its wallstreet guys creating FUD to buy more coins and later pump and dump it.
Startingup is always the issue but since you have taken that bold step, then the sky should be your limit.
Lastly, if you are still single, please and please go and marry because it will open your mind and brain to see more opportunities as regard investments.

The headline is misleading. You won't be living on your savings but on your investments.

Why not? people make far far more than that legally, u can't however make that kind of money doing a 7-4 job. Do u want to see real life billionaires? take a stroll to Legend Hanger, it is located behind MMIA, where the car park is.

My question is this. Which crypto did you invest in and what are some good ones you can advice a potential investor to look into.

You know your mind best boy.. Quit your job if you wanna, stay on your job if you wanna. Its nobody's business. Nairaland is becoming a very boring and uninteresting place with people coming on here to ask for money!

If you don't like your job and want to quit, by all means do. But let it not be because of laziness. And make sure you do get another job, no matter how small. Even billionaires still need to do some sort of work.

N400k maybe enough for you today as a single man, but would it be enough when u get married, raise children, and decided to own a home. So think it through thrice and be flexible in whatever decision you take.

Its actually possible to mal such in Nigeria. Even a small investment in cryptocurrencies 3 years ago would have turned to billions of naira today. There are many ways to make money.

You are not about to live on your savings rather it is passive income. Try to sort things out with your job if not, I believe you have gotten to the point where your passive income surpasses your monthly expense. You can quit and focus on growing your business. If you do a good job, in 10 years or less, you could be making your current annual turnover in a month.

That's a big gamble as crypto is likely to enter into multi years of ranging. Take a cue from gold (parabolic rise followed by irrational exuberance, and now ranging). The sad part is that no matter how frugal you are, your fund cannot sustain you. You will be surprised at how many people hate their jobs but still have to do it. If Bill Gates, Dangote, Zuckerberg still wake up to go to work, I don't see why you shouldn't. Money is a limited resource.

By the way, crypto is played out. It will die a natural death. Smart money moved funds out in Nov/December. Retail investors will be left holding the bag. History has ways of repeating itself. Crypto is a fad and a gamble. It is never an investment. Like MMM, I expect the noise about crypto to die this year. In less than a month, it went from $10k to $19k. In less than a month, it went from $19k to $7.5k. I feel sorry for retailers.
