Morning mamas

My DS has been on admission since monday afternoon for malaria and infection.dere has been slight improvement but he still having high fever intermittently as high as 39.2 degrees. D doctors have taken his blood again for another test . Pls mama want could be wrong? Is dere anything d doctors are missing? Ds is 14month

Fever is a way the body fights infections.
High temp kills bacteria so the body raises it's temp in order to Kelly the invaders. We control this temp because beyond an interval, the brain can get fried.
So having temperature is a good sign as long as it is being controlled

My dear sametging with my lil man oh!!! He's just 3weeks +, he also finishes 90ml and can still suck bress for and additional 45mins... He woke up really hungry this afternoon, I put him to breast but he was just restless, mesef was tired so I decoded to give him 120ml and he finished d whole thing and pooed almost immediately...the good tin about the formula is that my LO sleeps for like 4-5hrs at a stretch once he takes it...but with BM he wakes up after 30mins or so...

Dunno if its because I have small bressts that's y he never gets satisfied with BM.. Iv been taking lots of water+ pap+hot tea that even burns my throat most tyns just to increase d flow but its still same.... Abeg sabi mamas what worked for u?

God help us cuz I really wanted to do EBF price of SMA no be small tin these days...

Good evening mamas. First post alert.

I'm an expectant mom, with about 8weeks to go. I've done majority of my shopping, I'm left with diapers and wipes and co.

So i was doing my research online on diapers and stumbled upon washable diaper clothes, not the old type we used as kids o.

My question now is has anybody here used it? How is it like? Is it really machine friendly? Cos i need it to save diaper cost o. Pls just enlighten me.

Thank you

I got some washable diaper too, its machine friendly and i believe its pocket friendly but now my baby is past 3 months old and i have not used them.... After delivery i couldn't stand extra work, now I just they fear to wash shit. When his bowel movement becomes a bit predictable then i can start using them..

Thanks. They don’t disturb me when they weren’t sick. Infact, they are so independent hence I was able to survive without a househelp.
I think it’s stressful because I’m not well too and my second son is that child that cries heart piercing cry when he’s sick and he doesn’t like taking drugs.
This one too will pass.

You won’t know by merely looking at him.
Does he wet up to six diapers a day?
Some children are heavy eaters that doesn’t mean they will be fat or bigger than their mates.
Also note that at this age, they sometimes eat not because they are hungry but for comfort.
Some of them will later regulate it some will develop huge appetite that if you don’t satisfy them you will be miserable.
Do you want to do exclusive bf for him or combine with formula?
If you intend to breastfeed for long, offer him the both breast first before you use formula to top it up and see how many ml he will take.
Please note that nipple confusion is real and some children finds it easier to suck from the bottle.

Instead of feeding him all the time, play with him first, check the diapers and rock him to see if he will calm down and extend his feeding time. If he persists, feed him after all food is to be eaten.

Before I forget, breastfed babies eat more often because it digests faster.

Good morning mamas. I have come again. Biko help me again. My son is now 6 weeks we are still doing only breast milk. He seems satisfied. But the problem now is he has reduced his frequency of pooing. He used to poo like 3 times a day but now to poo once in 24 hours is hard labour. Increase your intake of fruits and vegetable! You can also give the baby a teaspoon of fresh orange juice

Hello mommas. Hope the weekend is coming along great. Fellow BBNaija watchers how disappointing was that party??!lols

Baby clocked 5months this February and we started cereal yesterday. Twas a battle; the boy barely took 50ml. I gave nutriben in the morning and nutribon in the evening in place of his usual formula but he wasn't having any of it. What can I do to make it easier for him to eat?? He's been formula fed from day 1 alongside breastmilk. I also want to introduce ogi baba by weekend.
I got clearance from the paediatrician.

Would appreciate tips on making the transition to cereal.
Thanks! Have a great Sunday!

Ebf babies goes longer days between poops, however if you feel it's constipation you the mother should eat lots of fruits and veggies! That should help.

Formula fed babies are easier to transition . Use his feeding bottle to make the cereal and make it light enough for him to suck cos if its too thick he won't take it.

You can get flushable nappy liners,so whenever baby poos you just lift it out and flush
Apart from the washables you can also use them for disposable daipers that way you don't change daipers that are still fresh
My dd reacted to some disposable daipers and I was advice to change to a different brand plus always line the daiper with the liners before wearing her and they were of great help
Nappy liners are a life saver

exclusive breastfed babies don't poo often. Could take 2 weeks at times. No need to force it

Concerning fenugreek, seems it's very difficult to get the capsule cause I've been scouting for it. I'll just settle with the seed then.
