dlondonbadboy:From the write up it shows they are not. The fulanis have been ruling Ilorin from time memorial till date. They lost their lands to the fulanis long ago, the same way the hausas lost their lands to the fulanis. Well, atleast they are beginning to wake up and see the light. To the Afonjas (yorubas), all I can say is fight and recover your ancestral land. |

This is long overdue I must say. A lot needs to be corrected in the leadership of this country; both traditional and political. But we must also be clear that the cost of such corrections will be an everlasting scar; dethroning the Fulani kingship is a just cause for both the Hausa and the Yoruba tribes, but it will result in much killings. Is it worth it? |

dlondonbadboy:Well, from what I read from history, the fulanis will first appear as if they are your friends. They will behave and make you believe that they mean no harm, after which they will strike. The fulanis did it to the hausas. They also did it to the yorubas. Most of the lands the fulanis are currently occupying in the core north belonged to the hausas. The fulanis came like innocent visitors before launching jihad on the hausas. As for Afonja, he wanted to win a war against his fellow yoruba so he sort help from the fulanis (his biggest mistake). He(afonja) won the battle with the help of the fulanis but lost the war, their lands, their throne to the same fulanis that were supposed to help them |

The only reason Fulani is still ruling Ilorin and why we do not have an Oba yet is because Islam has become an identity and Yoruba culture has taken the back seat. An average Nigerian is poorly educated and confuses religion (which should be a personal/private relationship with a God) for identity hence, they find themselves taking sides with people they share no cultural similarity and affinity with even against their own kind - this is the problem in Ilorin. The Yoruba there have confused the Islamic religion for a Fulani identity, hence, the nationalism a Yoruba cultural identity would have driven/created is amiss because Yoruba culture is very much suppressed out there. An average Yoruba out there, even in the academia, works harder to be more Fulani than the Fulani ![]() It is different from Kwara south down to Lago because Yoruba culture is prevalent and religion is more of a backseat thing that hasn’t yet started morphing into an identity for the Yoruba out there. Reduce Islam to a religion that it is, spring up Yoruba culture again; mode of dressing, greeting, lifestyle, philosophy of existence, inter-personal relation and religion then watch Yoruba take back Ilorin or begin to give the Fulani there a lot of problems. Example can be seen in Iwo town. Islam was in Iwo before Ilorin and before Fulani began adopting or spreading it. Ask yourself why Iwo is different from Ilorin even though they’re both muslim populated towns? It is because Iwo is surrounded by Yoruba culture is still prominent and they’ve managed to separate religion from cultural identity unlike Ilorin where being a muslim equates aspiring to be, look & act Fulani. |

Alimi, a Fulani, whose real name was Jinnata, came to Ilorin from a town in Niger Republic in those days. He was actually Allahmi, meaning a great scholar. The Yoruba reduced it to Alimi for ease of pronunciation. He was a herdsmanThis is why the cattle colony must be rejected in the south and the middle belt by all. The day you give a Fulani man your land, that is the end and beginning of trouble for you. This was the greatest mistake Afonja made. So, Al-Salihu went to Sokoto to learn under Shehu Usman Dan Fodio. He was a member of the 14 flag bearers, who were assigned to spread Islam all over the world. Al-Salihu took it upon himself to come down south and start the propagation of Islam in the old Oyo Empire, populated mainly by the Yoruba. He was of the view that Yoruba land was the only place that he could spread his religion by force. He first settled near Ogbomoso on his way to Oyo but the people of Ogbomosho consulted their oracle who told them that Al-Salihu’s religion would grow and submerge them. They drove him and his people away and he fled to Oyo. The Oyo people also consulted their oracle, who also warned them against accommodating the Fulani. The oracle specifically told them the man would seize their land, possession and crown if he was not immediately chased away That was how Al-Salihu left Oyo and settled at Guwo (near Jebba), which is 60 miles from IlorinThe people of OYO state are very smart. They were suspicious about the fulanis to they consulted their oracle which told them to drive the Fulani terrorists away or risk losing their lands, possessions and throne. If they didn't listen, alafin of OYO would have been a Fulani man. The same oracle is warning them about voting for Buhari the Fulani terrorist or risk losing everything. The Fulani are very aggressive, unforgiving, tactical and cunningFor those thinking that the fulanis are peaceful and friendly, the history is there to remind you of who they truly are. A perfect example is Muhammadu Buhari, who came to power in the pretense that he is changed only to show his hateful, vengeful and unforgiving self. As for the yorubas whom are here shouting sai baba and supporting a terrorist. They are behaving like Afonja who sold his birth right to the fulanis. E.g Sarrki, madridguy, markfemi . The history is there to remind them. Be wise. Shine your eyes |
