By now every southern state is meant to have its own state sponsored and trained militia (even if surreptitiously so). These Fulanis are not to be dealt with with laws when there is no apparatus to bring them before the law! They must be met with force, on the basis of two eyes for an eye!

Wherever fulanis cross into southern territory in the possession of arms this must be considered a declaration of war should be treated as such.

My brother sorry to say this but I don't agree with you. Same thing is happening in Ekiti and Ondo state. it's more in Benue due to its proximity to the middle belt region where these fulanis migrate from. The man is doing what he knows best but the FG is not helping out.

. Benue and Ekiti are two different places . Benue happens to be their area of focus. The Gov has tried his best and it seams no solution from FG .Crying to UN is well in other. Being CSO of a state doesn't guarantee that you will fully control the police who are under the control of FG. I love his action. At least this would prove to the world the Fg can't curb the herdsmen menace

Reading through people's comments you will understand how bias we all are on this country. No one can see the fact and state it as it is. We always take sides. We are just a country so divided.

Government in Nigeria seems to be on vacation.

Why crying to UN that is so far away and won't hear? The coward in benue should come down to Anambra state and cry to Obiano to teach him how to maintain peace in his state.

Reading comment on here makes me weep for my country, even as we all jointly condemn the Fulani menace, what is ortom doing/has done to curb/ future occurance being the chief security officer of the state? personally i think Ortom/ Buhari should resign, we need leaders that can think, as crazy as fayose is he had series of meetings with concerned parties i.e security personnel, local hunters, elders of communities and herdsmen. i watched festus Keyamo address this issue on channels tv and from what i can see Gov. Ortom is not/has not done much to help his people, i dont want to believe he trully armed militias, rather he should have organized civilian JTF.

Lagos ordinarily should be the most difficult/complex state to govern due to the convergence of virtually all ethnic groups in Nigeria and people of diffrent race, culture and religion, yet everything in lagos seems to be working fine. my point is, Ortom been the CSO has all he needed around him and still could not protect his people.

My opinion is Gov. Ortom is whipping sentiment to get sympathy for his re-election bid, he is seeking attention and indirectly heating the already heated polity, we need leaders that can think, technocrat dont give excuses for failure. but as usual we tend to look for who too blame for our very own mistakes.

Nigeria is a soverign state, i get infuriated when we seek help for everything we can do for ourselves, UN is aiding with Boko haram, HIV/AID, Sickel cell, diffrent grant and here we are asking for help again like we cannot think as a people, maybe the British needs to recolonise Africa again, we have no leaders.

Permit me to mention you. I appreciate your sense of maturity and self-control. Many people quickly give in to outbursts of anger when the feel they have been harshly attack. But you have shown patience in the face of a harsh comment earlier in the post. Please, continue that way. People like you will make some of us change our perception of your people.

I have gone through your posts here, and I wish to comment on some of the points you have raised.

The Ekiti State situation is different from what we have here in Benue State. In Ekiti State, the herdsmen neither rejected nor resisted compliance with the Law. To a large extent, they have obeyed. Here in Benue State, the herdsmen did not only reject the Law, they openly vowed to resist its implementation, and also threatened attacks should the Law be implemented.

The question then is: Why choose to obey the same Law in Community A but reject it in Community B? Well. the herdsmen openly laid claims to ownership of Benue State. This news is in the public domain. It is not a figment of my imagination. You can check the following links: http://

And let me point it here clearly: the Security Agencies have not hidden their biasness in this Benue issue. You can Google comments by Defence Minister and IGP on the situation in Benue. It's very unfortunate.
