As a Yari.ba peep, do you have a ward in the schools in Anambra or Imo State? It is complete idiocy to require a kid who has never heard of Igbo langauge talk less speak it to take and pass the Igbo language as a subject.

First of all, I am not Yoruba. And as an Eboe man, you should know that not everyone who disagrees with your perspective is Yoruba. I have cousins who are not Igbo, studying in Anambra and yes, they were made to take Igbo language classes in secondary school. Afterall, kids are taught French in our schools, so what makes the teaching of indigenous languages so different?

You can not challenge the state for doing what the constitution recommended or for following the law.

If you don't like the law, then lobby your lawmakers to change or amend the constitution that gave Lagos state the legal backing to create their Language law..

Learn that basic concept per the constitution and legalities before your next comment.

So the ONLY remedy when laws are seen as ultra vires,
otiose or unwarranted is to lobby to amend the constitution or change the law?

Pardon my asking, what did you study in school?

Is the question how the school came about or it's status currently?

Indigenes?

Is everybody in LASU now suppose to be Yoruba?

Try hard to fight that African backwardness.

Try Bro!
Everybody is not supposed to be Yoruba but they must know Yoruba. Lagos is Yoruba land so the state government must plan it's workforce. No point educating people who cannot communicate in Yoruba when they graduate, they would be less useful to Lagos economy.

You must not forget that with restructuring Lagos will merge with the rest of the SW.
You prepare for Biafra by opening Radio Biafra while we tend to be more COWARDLY in approach. Time will tell but the reality is this is just one of many moves that we will be revealing one by one. .

U are not making sense.

There are no host in their own country.

In Nigeria, Nigeria is their host.

They are Nigerians until they get a separate country, which u yorubas have vocally objected to.

No, you are the one whose comments are bereft of sense. undecided You feel everyone who does not share your muddled views is Yoruba, which is totally untrue. And if this language law promulgated by Lagos state hurts you so much, please turn right. Go down the street. And hug the transformer there...with wet hands. grin

Instead of the unintelligent legal jargon, you should be highlighting the reasons why the law is illegal and what facts you are going to base your objections on in any court of law..

Wat is the purpose of indoctrinating non yoruba people children with yoruba?

Is yoruba the official language of Nigeria?

Yoruba is an official language in Lagos State now.

Bro, Lagos is to the south wat Abuja is to the North.

Port Harcourt is to the south wat Kano is to the North.

If Lagos is now a village like Anambra and Osun, just tell the people mistaking it as a capital city of the south to leave.

Politics dat dont generate wealth, will generate poverty and all this your twisted presentation generate poverty via killing valuable time.

I am an Igbo man, i get fed up very quickly and not into long dragging.

I am happy to park all my things to my village empty handed and start all over again.

But will Yoruba and Hausa allow me keep my life in my village.

If Nigeria cannot work, let Biafrans go peacefully.

ELEDUMARE WILL CONTINUE TO BLESS YORUBAS AND SHOW US THE RIGHT PATH TO GREATNESS ! (ASE).

An inferiority complex is when you feel the need to make the teaching of your language in your state compulsory despite the fact that most people living there can already speak it just to reassert your supposed dominance in said state. I don't really care about this law as I don't and have no plans to live in Lagos but it really reeks of a sense of insecurity on the part of the Yorubas.

It's really not when you consider that most people who were raised in Lagos speak Yoruba. Btw, if you look up the definition of the word, having a superiority complex is not a good thing and actually points to having suppressed feelings of inferiority undecided.

So many people from Lagos go to University like Uniben, Delta State University, Anambra State University.

Do u know how many Northerners and Yorubas are enjoying free education in Imo State University under Okorocha?

Wat if all of them say we want only Urhobo, Igbo, Bini, Ijaw.

Wat type of country are we living in? Wat is all this?
Stop with your lies, only Imo indigenes are enjoying Okorocha's free education not even the entire Igbo nation.

No you are the one with such a complex. You accept that YOUR language is dead and buried.
We do not accept this for Yoruba.
We have a vision that one day our kids will learn calculus and quantum mechanics in Yoruba. That they will write programmes in Yoruba. Yes we will completely replace English why? Because we believe in our selves. It is a profound inferiority complex with paranoid delusions of self reference that would believe this targets anyone.

Let me share something that you do not know.

Not so long (1637)ago a guy called Isaac Newton wrote a profound work called the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Matematica. He was an English man. He wrote itin Latin.

Why?

English was considered backward. The language of instruction in Europe in those days among the elite was French and Latin.

Where is Latin now? And English?

You will still find Latin in anatomy textbooks maybe.

Our vision is based on how far we believe we can take our language. Your spiteful nature makes you think you are the target .

You have surrendered and acquiesced to the idea that English is superior to your language. We will never do that.
Now Every language has a signature homeland or homelands.

Lagos is a Yoruba homeland with an exciting future in media ,radio, cinema and so on. It is going to be massive.

Be happy for us grin

But when Anambra enacted similar laws, making it compulsory for Igbo language to be studied in primary, secondary and state-owned institutions, it was not an inferiority complex, right??

Anambra State doesn't have the luxury of benefiting massively from immigration of Nigerians from other states on such a large scale. You're comparing apples to oranges here. If Anambra State was developed by people from across Nigeria, and their resources, on a large scale and still decided to do this then you'd have a point.

Ehn? What are you apologising for? shocked My ethnic group is not bothered by the law. It is only the Igbo that are wailing over this law. Neither are other tribes complaining about it. Or have you heard any Hausa, Tiv, Idoma, Igala, Itsekiri, Edo, Idoma, Bura, Nupe, Efik, Ibibio, Kalabari, Sayawa, Kamberi etc, person resident in Lagos, lamenting over this law?
