Good morning Nairalanders , especially doctors in the house. I have a very serious case of bad mouth odour that has persisted for a long time, at least 8years.

Sometimes I have to brush as many as three to four times a day and bad enough, it will still be there.

Occasionally, I remove some yellowish smelly stuffs from my throat and after sometimes I see them again. Also of late, I have persistent headaches even without fever, even when I wake in the morning expecting to be refreshed, the ache will still be there. I don't know if these are related.

I have seen two or three doctors and normally there give me antibiotics and recommend mouthwashes. Now it is still here an am worried and depressed.

I am in my late 20s and this has affected my life in ways space will not permit me to write. I just cannot function well anywhere because I cannot talk for fear of the odour. My social life is zero, and I am almost always alone.

Please advice me if you have or know someone who has experienced this, or you are an expert or you know something I can do to be free from this. Its so bad its the only item on my new year prayer. I don't want to spend another year in this. Thank you all in anticipation.

Make a habit of chewing a minimum of two big bitter kola nuts every other day. It should relieve you of both challenges.

But i think the problem of your mouth odor is not from your tooth so brushing them 100 times wont change anything.

You're suffering from tonsil stones, this trapped debris hardens, or calcifies. This tends to happen most often in people who have chronic inflammation in their tonsils or repeated bouts of tonsillitis.

The white milky stuff in your throat is the cause of your issue. That stuff smells more than feaces. (No exaggeration)

Go to a good dentist and make complains about the tonsil stones. They have a way of removing them from the throat and also help you clean them properly. They will also give you medications if required.

I was about giving the same advice. I had it too for many years until I did personal research about the yellowish stuff coming from my throat. That thing like stalled shit. I was always having one sided haedache.. it also led to me have sinusitis. So it was a circle, sickness circle.
Doctors offered many antibiotics and I offer myself more but the smell wont just go away.

I just had to teach myself how to remove the tonsil stone myself by watching YouTube video and avoid catarrh by every mean possible to reduce inflammation in my breathing tracks just by robbing robb© in my nostrils as often as possible.

Everyone should also be weary of kissing babes with mouth order.. because I believes where I connected mine.. I don't even know the number of babes have kissed afterwards..

Tonsillitis is communicable

The commonest cause of mouth odour is poor oral hygiene. It is the number one cause...before talking about tonsil stones and infections that might be in the gut which could bring about odour . most times we spend time brushing the teeth with little attention to the tongue....spend more time brushing your tongue and try to brush Atleast twice a day, drink lots of water....also get a stronger tooth brush than the one u currently have. Try this for one week and check for yourself. Mouthwashes won't help, they may fix you for 30 minutes only .knowing the root cause and fixing it is the only way so that you can be comfortable.

I suffer from the same thing.. it's tonsillitis. anti biotic will fail you and Ent doctors will keep recommending them.. simply GAGGLE WITH SALT INSIDE WARM WATER.. the pain will definitely reduce and possibly disappear.. Above all REST AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.. stress also contribute to the pain..

Ask any ibo woman selling vegetables for garden leave or ihara leave in ibo.chew always and swallow,rinse your mouth with water everyday. After brushing your teeth use baking soda water to rinse too. For the headache minimize using of your phone or computer. Take your paracentamor and get enough sleep a day. 6-8hours everyday. Above all these,JESUS CHRIST is our healer. Pray to God for healing.

I Sympathize with you OP. Please do the following
1. Brush your tongue deep down every morning, this will enable you cough out the yellowish substances from your mouth
2. Take a glass of water after this, and take lots of water during the day
3. Don't eat any solid meal after 7pm but feed on fruits; water melon most especially
4. It is a must you brush your teeth and tongue every night before you sleep
5. Use a mouth wash
6. Communicate very often. If there's no one to talk to, talk to yourself at the mirror. When you don't talk, it makes the odour worse
7. The persistent headache is caused by depression. You are thinking too much on the mouth odour.
8. Love yourself, be happy with life and pursue your dreams.

Do u have a hole in any tooth? If u do go fill it up, if you dont go see your doctor. Eat fruits most especially cucumber, banana, wash ur tongue well too. The head ache i think you should see a doctor fast, a friends junior brother uusually complain of headaches too til it started affecting his eyes, we took him to d hospital and they had to scan his skull, tthey found out his brain was swelling (that was d cause of d headache). Please we all should be careful of gadgets that causes radiation nd stuffs, its killin us gradually.

this is my surest advice and it will work..for the mouth odour, change ur brushing tactics...brush ur mouth after meals in the morning and as last thing before you sleep, then chew bitter kola...donit for a week and ur mouth will never smell again...chewing bitter kola as last thing at nite will never make ur mouth smell in the morning...then for the headache.....find time to have sex sometimes, or say say alone in a quite dark rooms attimes and relax....cheers

Op, I used to have bad breath. My mouth odour lasted for over ten years. It was the most frustrating period of my life. I had low self-esteem and I wisely stayed off relationship. Within that period the frustrating ailment was existing, I used many drugs, I used different kinds of mouth wash, I visited dentist, my oral hygiene was top notch. But none of these things worked. My life was drifting away and there was nothing I could do.

Fortunately for me, sometime in 2016, I had a persistent cough. My elder suggested I take BITTER KOLA together with Tom Tom candy. These cured the cough. However, afterwards, I kept taking bitter kola-I read online that it has numerous benefits in the body and most importantly, it takes care of mouth odour. It clears the bacteria causes mouth odour in the mouth. Initially it was pretty bitter but after a couple of weeks or so, I was used to the taste, and it was so natural.
Well, one day my mouth odour disappears, completely, whenever I chew bitter kola. It only reappears after two days if I fail to chew bitter kola. Ever since then, I virtually chew bitter kola every day or every other day. To me, it was a little sacrifice for what it worth. I've already chewed one this morning.
My bad breath is gone. Bitter kola solved it.

But the throat discharges might be another infection of something in your throat which might add to it.

I would advice you see and ENT. Ear nose throat doctor and buy some antibacterial throat sprays until you go which they should sell at a good pharmacist. You are doing everything possible so take heart although it'll be hard to say don't be embarrassed because I'm not in your shoes.
Please let us know your location so I can ask my ENT who he recommends or book an appointment at a teaching hospital to see their ENT if this is possible.

Ure having a head infection and inflammation is taking ace above the roof of ur mouth, directly behind your nose, it's a centre that filters bacteria from ur blood and traps it but now it's infected badly , it the spot where catarrh is expelled from trough the nose, u need to see a surgeon, Nigeria has the 4th best doc for head issues he was living in Kaduna some years ago, pls pray and follow up medically

You probably have bn seeing yeye Doctors cos I don't know how you will present with such signs and symptoms and it's only Antibiotics they can think of.... My advice for you is to visit General or more preferably teaching hospital (they have all the specialists you need),i don't know where you stay but you can ask questions about the hospitals before visiting...Teaching hospital will so waste your time sha but at the end it will be worth the wait

It's a simple matter.
1. Get glycerene oil
2. Get cotton wool
3. Wash your tongue 2 to 3 times daily with items on 1 and 2 above
4. Drink water regularly and never allow your mouth to dry. Hold your bottled water everywhere you go to always drink and rinse your mouth. A sip every 30mins.
5. Twice a day is okay for brushing your teeth and dont brush too hard.
FOR THE HEADACHE
1. Make sure you sleep for atleast 8hrs a day. Rest well
2. Stop sexual intercourse for now. And please do not masturbate.
3. Free your mind from any form of anxiety or worry. Be +ve and keep calm.
4. Use paracetamol
5. If headache persist after all these, CONSULT A QUALIFIED DOCTOR NOT NECESSARILY YOUR DOCTOR.

For self removal of tonsil stone I used Listerine© with cotton bud but I later stitched to picking comb. I roughened the tip of the comb, twist some cotton wool on the tip then insert in listerine© as disinfectant of the cavity/pore where the stones are locked..
It worked for me.

Worst case u can opt for operation to totally remove ur tonsil

It might be Tonsil stones.

Tonsillitis is also a form of STDs/STIs.
