ex presidents don't interfere with incumbents, they don't write public letters and the public is largely unaware of their influence on sitting presidents

So is that the only thing that doesn't happen in USA:
A drunken master never became president in USA.

An illiterate never became a president.

A USA president never receives medical treatment in another country.
White house is not powered by generators.
