A Nigerian twitter user with the @Ayokaade_took to the social media platform to share the story of a Nigerian couple who got evicted three weeks after their lavish wedding.

According to Ayokaade, the couple spent over N3m on their wedding with an extra N300k on shopping expense during their honeymoon.

There is no national award for the best couple. No matter how expensive your wedding is, another one is going on somewhere else that beats it hands down. As long as you and hubby are happy. You can't impress everyone. If you like spend 5 million on a wedding, someone will still say the wedding is not interesting.

I know of a guy who budgeted 3million for his wedding but ended up spending 800k for 76 guests. He bought a car the following week.

If the story is true the couple are plainly stupid. Guess the need to impress overwhelmed their sense of reasoning. And more blame should go to the wife cause most times its the wife that pushes for extravagant weddings.

I think it's the need to impress, we want to make it a talk of the town, so we can have beautiful pictures to put up on social media, so our friends go home impressed about how the event turned out.

I personally would have preferred if they used the money for their honeymoon that will benefit both of them.
