Egbami o! My ds has been sleeping ( more than 20 hrs per day) since Wednesday after her 10weeks immunisation on Tuesday. She feds every 2 hrs and she's been wetting her diaper although her poo is a bit watery probably due to the rota vaccine. Anybody experienced or experiencing such trend? Thinking it's either the vaccines or growth spurt....

I don't know if boot is responsible for the rash on your baby's face but it was for mine so I changed to Aveeno baby. You can use rising raving powder.

Am very sure is boot cream, changing to another cream right away...thank you ma

Not so fast, let her skin be for a while before trying another cream, it may or not be the boots. The weather is another thing to consider. Secondly babies do get acne that clears by it'self with time.

When my son had rashes on his neck and face at 3weeks ! I stopped applying cream and oil and just bathed him with soap! The rash cleared by itself and we resumed our cream and oil routine with no episode till much later.

My mum insist I give my baby abidec multivitamin, and vitamin c 'to keep her healthy and immune against illness', when hospital hasn't asked me to (when I delivered). She has now gone ahead to buy it herself. undecided

Please is this safe? She's just 10 days old

My mom said so too! I believe not in all cases. Mine was real bad cramps, after childbirth I still experience bad cramps.

stephmiracle:

Mine reduced drastically after childbirth. During some months, there won't be cramps at all and during some months, I might feel just a little discomfort

spiceeamiee:
This is true for me. Cramp free period.

Thanks a lot mamas. Looking forward to a painless flow.. Later later though.. Not now grin

The drug is safe. I gave my dd but only for a while. She was very energic in the first place and was a foodie right for birth, so I discontinued the drug before she tear my breast cos she still wants more food after been fed fully a short while ago cheesy

I belief it makes them eat more aside from giving them strength.

It's not necessary but it's not a hill you want to die on. There are other things you'd have to put your foot down on, let mumsi have this one

Maggiespecial:
Good day mamas in d house, i have been reading your posts on this thread and it has been so helpful, may God bless you all. I am a ftm n I gave birth yesterday night. Pls since dt yesterday, my baby hasn't eaten anything n my breast is not coming out yet. I am very worried. I asked d nurse, n dey told me dt he is fine dt he can stay for more dan 24hrs without food. Pls biko, should ao true is dt?

A new born stomach is very tiny - see image reference below so they need very little in the first few days.. Plus they are usually born with fat reserves to last a few days before the main milk comes in.

That being said. Keep putting baby to breast at least every 2 hours. This will help you stimulate the milk.
Also the proper milk takes a few days to come, usually at day 3 or 4 you will notice the insane heaviness in your breasts so relax. Take lots of fluids, eat well, enjoy your motherhood and ensure you practice your baby latching on well in these early days.

What you are producing now is colostrum which in some people it's more visible than in others.

You can also keep an eye on the poop and pee. As a sign that baby is feeding - the colustrum / milk helps push the meconuium out. So if he or she is having good bowel movents, you will see the colour gradually change from black to yellow. See picture reference below.

Also regular pee also indicated he is taking in fluid and all the plumbing down below is working just fine.

Congratulations on your baby.
