We gained the upper hand with Smalling's goal. Mourinho was right to have played three at the back to focus on attacking play. He brought in small players which helped our short passing in the small pitch. In the first half I felt Mata should be introduced at half time to help in short passes around the physical Palace players.

Shaw and Lingard in wing back was cool. Valencia and Young are big and they appeared fatigued. Young was our only attacking threat in the first half but we were generally poor.

Good result, we are sure of top four now.
