sweet game today..hope those shelse fans can sleep well? We need 2modern full backs abeg.. How will a team playing without wingers be attacking yet her fullbacks haven't still crossed the center line when the ball is close to the opposition 18, how then do u stretch the opponent and also be an attacking outlet? ThankGod JM spotted the rubbish and changed them, na so we com carry they press the opponent in their half. Elamps baba, what do you have to say about AV25 performace today, dude was picking up positions behind his CBs today. |

We could've won the match effortlessly. Our midfielders ain't doing their job in the first half of the match especially for the first goal I must give it out to the coach today. He's MOTM. He noticed the lapses and quickly turn the game around. Shouting and jumping on the touchline. We want to see more of this. Pogba needs to concentrate on his games more. I still don't understand Mou's love for Young over Shaw. Lindelof is quite good in a three-man def than four judging from the games he played in last year. Thumbs up to DDG again, Lukaku played his heart, that 'shalo' ehn . Special praises to Mata, Lingard and Rashford. What a night! |

It isn't rocket science that we looked much more comfortable with Shaw on the left and Lingard at RB. To be honest a lot of those passes from Pogba and Sanchez into the channel on the right that seemed like misplaced passes where only so due to the fact that Valencia wasn't adventurous enough, it was almost the same scenario on the left where Young who Elampiro thinks was our only attacking outlet in the first half, was atrocious today. At some point, the players began ignoring Young even when he was in good position because he had killed enough attacks. Against teams like Palace, we should be more daring and even though we triumphed today, we may not always be this lucky. We need to set out to kill rather than contain. |

larride:you have said it all. as much as we might not admit it. Valencia has been shit since thus year. Lingard is the most underrated player in our team. Mata played so well today. DDG on top of it again. Smalling and Lindelof need to quickly go back to the bench asap. we have seem enough |

patrickmuf:Mou changed to a 3 at the back system. @bolded, quite true, no be small headache i get because of Val and Young today.. how will a right back in modern football be positioned same line with his CBs or even back when his team is attacking knowing fully well that there wasnt any winger in front of him, good cross though for the first goal but we seriously need modern fullbacks. I guess Elamps meant Young picked up better attacking positions than Val but his defending was diabolical to say the least. Good win tonight though, better coming from 2goals down. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:47am On Mar 06, 2018 |
patrickmuf:Those passes were over hit. The ball slip fast on the grass because it was rainy. If you think Lingard is better than Valencia in that position, you must be a joke. We were playing really well before Valencia and Young were substituted. |

CapitalCee:Check my other post, I had a go at him, he sort of did himself a little good with that assist for the first goal. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 12:50am On Mar 06, 2018 |
elampiro:The truth is Valencia didn't give them a chance with his positioning and I didn't in anyway mean that Lingard is better at RB, he just interpreted the role better with his positioning for the pass each time the midfielders had the ball. It is criminal for a full back to be pegged on the same line with the CBs, at least not when you're chasing a game. |

patrickmuf:They didn't play same role and not same formation. Rashford for McTominay meant we played more men forward and we attacked better from when Rashford came on. Lingard didn't play the traditional right back. He played more like a wing back. Towards the end, at 1-2 we had nothing more to lose, hence we threw men forward. |

chidexxy007:Valencia Assisted Smalling's goal. How was he not adventurous? They also wasted some of his other crosses. |

elampiro:Elampiro, shouldn't our full backs be more adventurous when we are playing a 3 man midfield especially with 2 of the 3 being more defensively conscious I.e. Matic and McTonimay? Let's take Madrid for an instance, at Madrid, with Casmeiro and Kross, Marcelo and Carvajal are licensed to join the attack at every chance because of the midfield cover, why is it different here, quite simply put, the personnel or probably the methods. With Rashford and Mata on, if your theory held sway, our full backs should have been more cautious since we had Rashford on the left, Sanchez through the middle, Mata on the right and Pogba joining the attack often but no, we saw our fullbacks higher up the pitch even when they were expected to be a tad cautious and that resulted in us recovering the ball quicker in more dangerous positions. The obvious difference is the change in personnel manning the fullback positions in question and not the fact we were couple of goal down cos with Young and Val we were a goal down and at later two goals down but not much changed (don't mention Valencia's assist cos we went up the pitch for a corner and not necessarily because he forayed forward). |

elampiro:Oga, no need for the back and forth. He made a good assist which i praised but those passes seemed misplaced because Val's position as a RB when his team were attacking was poor. Maybe i missed something, which of his crosses in this game did they waste biko. JM saw his full backs were very very poor and changed them suddenly the team started playing better and pressing from the front.. Elampiro, was that a coincidence? |
