Oga, no need for the back and forth. He made a good assist which i praised but those passes seemed misplaced because Val's position as a RB when his team were attacking was poor. Maybe i missed something, which of his crosses in this game did they waste biko.
JM saw his full backs were very very poor and changed them suddenly the team started playing better and pressing from the front..
Elampiro, was that a coincidence?
Those passes were bad, too much. Valencia connects the most difficult passes, if he could not, no one else would be able.

We played better when Rashford came in. Before Valencia and Young left, we were creating chances and pressing for goals

Elampiro, shouldn't our full backs be more adventurous when we are playing a 3 man midfield especially with 2 of the 3 being more defensively conscious I.e. Matic and McTonimay?
Let's take Madrid for an instance, at Madrid, with Casmeiro and Kross, Marcelo and Carvajal are licensed to join the attack at every chance because of the midfield cover, when is it different here, quite simply put, the personnel or probably the methods.
With Rashford and Mata on, if your theory held sway, our full backs should have been more cautious since we had Rashford on the left, Sanchez through the middle, Mata on the right and Pogba joining the attack often but no, we saw our fullbacks higher up the pitch even when they were expected to be a tad cautious and that resulted in us recovering the ball quicker in more dangerous positions.
The obvious difference is the change in personnel manning the fullback positions in question and not the fact we were couple of goal down cos with Young and Val we were a goal down and at later two goals down but not much changed (don't mention Valencia's assist cos we went up the pitch for a corner and not necessarily because he forayed forward).
When scores are at 0-0, Mourinho's team seat deep. Even when Shaw has started games. Valencia has always been the most adventurous.

Trailing 0-1, there was always the fear not to concede a second. As soon as Rashford came on, we were attacking better, but the second goal we conceded meant we went all out because there was nothing to lose again.

Valencia have an Assists, he also played more balls into the box from the final third.

Valencia had the highest number of chances created in the match for both teams. He created 4 chances. The next people are those who created 2 chances - Mata and Soloth.

Against Chelsea we were poor first half and parked the bus. In the second half, we played more in Chelsea's half and won. Did we substitute Valencia and Young? It is just the pattern of our play.

Valencia and Young also need rest at intervals because they work the hardest in the team covering so much ground with speed.

We are not complaining just because we want more crosses into the box, the role of a fullback when you play with two inverted wingers goes way beyond putting crosses into the box, they help in retaining possession by creating a channel for the midfielders out wide, they also complement the pressing done by the forwards.
During the game, each time the midfielders looked out wide especially when the center was crowded out, Valencia was close to the center of the pitch as was Young except in one or two scenarios where he wasn't utilized prolly because the lads got fed up that he kept on losing possession. The commentators were also very vocal in their assertion that we needed more width to breakdown Palace and it's no surprise that it changed with Rashford, Shaw and a Lingard who was surprisingly more in sync with our midfielders than Valencia.
Val tho should continue on the right against Liverpool but Shaw has to be trusted by Mou against Salah who is definitely gonna leave Young for dead with his pace.

Yes, Valencia created the highest number of chances in the match.

We created 11 chances, Valencia alone created 4, Mata 2. The others created one each - Lukaku, Sanchez, Lingard, Rashford and Matic

Against Chelsea we lacked the width that comes with natural fullbacks.
Every top teams has a full back who bombs forward to deliver crosses, create channels to evade congested Midfield or press.
At Bayern, you have Alaba and Kimmich
At Juventus, Alex Sandro
At Barcelona, Alba and Roberto
At City, Zichenko and Walker
At Pool, Robertson and Clyne before his injury woes
At Chelsea, Alonso
At Spurs, Ben Davies and Aurier.

They all press high up the pitch, serve as channels to open up the play and contribute in delivering crosses.
The mistake you are making especially as it concern Valencia is looking at crosses/chances created and ignoring all the other parameters.

All these dont hold ground because you are talking about the player who created the most chances in the game. All his chances came from passing.

When Moyes was here, the complain about Valencia was that he went forward too much, that a defender's primary duty was to defend. That was why many were happy with the purchase of Darmian.

Valencia still represent that guy most of our players give passes to every time. Most passes from Rooney, Pogba, and even Sanchez go to Valencia and he does well connecting them. The problem today was that because of the rain in the first half, the ball moved faster. The passers should have been more careful. Even in the midfield, we were missing passes.

This is where Ashley Young used the ball mostly, and people were saying he sat back.

The second screenshot is Luke Shaw who came out when we pushed forward.

Stats are facts. I don't know what you watched tonight. I saw us pressing to score when Rashford came on and trailing 0-2. Valencia was always in attacking positions, same with Young. Then we scored 2-1

Young was on yellow and may have been fatigued, the coach changed it. Valencia may also have been fatigued and Mourinho would need someone to attack more. A kind of a risk taking. It paid off, but it could have backfired if not for DDG.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 2:30am On Mar 06, 2018
Ashley Young had Sanchez who was drifted infield almost every time, he had even more space to run into...
Shaw had Rashford so, his forays were restricted yet he was almost always in the Palace half swooping danger and making sure we had one more body to play through on the left.

Even when Rashford came on, Young was still trying to go behind the defence line or cut infield to make a cross. Young has high mibility, the reason I said he may have been fatigued from many matches. Same with Val.

Mourinho when asked about substituting Tony V: "Valencia did not train for a whole week so he does not have the same energy and intensity as the others."

Siddon there. It is no coincidence that he moved from Lagos to London and his childhood club was Leicester.

If you used to read his diary you would notice that he painted a picture of a Lascivious character. If you find that word difficult to pronounce you can substitute with Lewd, Lecherous, Libidinous, Lustful, Licentious, Lubricious.

P.S And if you find me oquacious today it is because NiLLiList took the L. The poor guy is currently in L fire.

Go and prepare for the assault on your backsides from Barcelona by buying a jar of Vaseline to soothe your backsides instead of worrying about us.

We are 9 points ahead of you, while you are facing a reality of Thursday night football in places like Ostersund, Vladikavkaz, Helsingborgs and Mitjilland.

We are fine thank you.

Next time you will be civil and have some decorum, instead of trolling unnecessarily like some newly incubated mosquitoes.
