Sanchez needs 2 up his game for us

I guess his best position is 2 play behind lukaku....He should be taking all those long shots

I think Luke Shaw is not playing because he is fat. He looked absolutely ridiculous last night. Doesn’t look like a professional athlete.

Sanchez should go to the bench. He was busy losing balls in the middle which Palace used to be starting counter attack. He should reduce those passes he is always trying through the middle especially seeing it is overcrowded and play to the flank to stretch opponents. I'm yet to see his difference in this team.

Fact! Dude doesn't look like someone ready to displace Young. Others are playing to see if they can make the WC and he's fat.

Hmmm seems our idea of what creating chances or playing really well means are totally different. That's where the issue is, no wahala
Chances created can be measured statistically. That is how many times you make an attempt as a team.

Valencia had an Assist (a clever one) and created the most chances in the match. What else do you want?

Truly before they left the pitch, we already held Palace around their half and final third. The introduction of Mata made the play more fluid with short passes. Palace were playing deeper and deeper, then we had more small players with Mata and Shaw on a small pitch. It was easier for us to pass because running was no longer needed.

If Mata started the match, we could have played better from the start because our poor passing was the major weakness from the start.

MRTA7:
Exactly, nothing to be said for the poor quality of the chances created just that a chance has been created. The worst way to watch football is with numbers.
Most of the time stats still win. It is not by chance that such players like Messi, Silva, etc create the highest chances almost every season.

Last night, Valencia who created most chances eventually provided our first goal.

Seriously Bro, He should stop making all those hard passes and he loves engaging himself in an overcrowded place, He can still get better sha

Manu style of football ain't the same with Arsenal's own

Screenshot 1: Valencia provided Assist in front of the box. Goal 2-1

Screenshot 2: Valencia exchanged passes with Pogba for a long range shot. score remains 2-1

Screenshot 3: Valencia pull back a pass for Pogba. The keeper made a great save from Pogba's shot. Score remains 2-1, then Valencia substituted out.

Will anyone see Valencia in these positions and still insists Valencia didn’t attack?

ChristineC:
I would not argue the coaching aspect but look at the game against Crystal Palace some hours ago. The lethargy stunk throughout the first half and then suddenly the second half started brightly; even conceding the second goal short did not lower their spirits. What changed? Same players, same pitch, same coach. If it was a one-off fine, but this happens every other day.
If your tactic is "Do not concede or Do not lose" first then when you concede yu have to change things. That was what happened vs Palace, That offensive football Mourinho didnt want to play, the scoreline forced him to play it

Look at most of your games, you start slow, no pressing at all, if you are fortunate to score first then you try to slow down the game further and catch the opponent on counter

In cases where opponent score first you now see a renewed tactic and the team will come out aggressively, some times its too late

e.g vs City, you started lazily no pressure, City scores, Man Utd decides to press them and they get a goal, immediately they went back to sleeping. Same thing yesterday same thing vs Chelsea last week, Personnel wise, your team is superior to every team in the league why not deploy tactics that will make you dominant in every game

The way you pressed Palace in the last 35mins, thats the way teams like Liverpool and City press their opponent for 90mins

Probably thats why all your creative players are struggling, Pogba Sanchez Martial Mata Rashford have been below their best lately. They cannot all be lazy,

In the last 2 games he was able to score when you were attacking and not when you were parking the bus. Basically Strikers perform better when the entire team is attacking

Most of the time. Yes. But my main point stands. Stats will not tell you the pass for the chance was over or under hit or its accuracy. Just that the chance was created. Thats a very poor way to judge quality. It doesn't take away from the fact he provided a fantastic assist for Smalling to score.

I agree with you 101%. Truer words have never been spoken. Pep Guardiola's teams, be it Barcelona, Bayern or City, will attack you from the first minute to the end with endless waves of pressing. By doing so, they get all the possession, put their opponents under pressure, neutralise their attacking threats. They don't relax by waiting to counter their opponents like United did against City, they relax by HOLDING THE BALL AND PASSING IT AROUND BEAUTIFULLY like against Chelsea. This way, they won't stand the chance of conceding, rather they toy with their opponents and if chance develops, they score more and more. That's why Pep said he'll retire if he stops playing attacking football.

I get really pissed that with all the pace and attacking threats we have, Mourinho will set up my team to defend and then hope for a lucky chance to score, or wait till they're losing before attacking. It's annoying. We had to be losing before Mourinho realised his mistake and attacked with vigour yesterday. It's up to Mourinho to force them to attack from the beginning till end, any player that can't adhere to his tactic, off he goes.

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 4:19pm On Mar 06, 2018
In addition to my last entry, Neville said something few weeks back which I agree with. He said something like United doesn't need to buy all the top players to be great again, that what we need is for Mourinho to create an ideantity out of this team FIRST AND FOREMOST, and the add one or two additions and the team is back in business.

I agree with him, because this team have no identity yet. We look clueless till we're losing. What Pep did last season was to bring a style he wanted for his players. He went about impacting that knowledge in them. He gave them the identity he wants them to operate under, sold off the wastes that couldn't play like he did, bought the players he wanted and made them play with the style he'd already taught most of the team. What we see now is an unstoppable machine. If we like we can buy Dybala and even Neymar join. As long as Mourinho has not laid a successful pattern for the team to operate with, we're going nowhere.

Yesterday, the Shaw I saw is not ready to displace a pathetic Young. We must never start next season without 2 YOUNG full-backs to replace Young and give Valencia a run for his money.

My problem with Jose and the reason I want him to leave since it is more difficult for him to change. Why not attack teams at the onset and then leading by 2-3 goals margin drop the tempo while keeping the ball. We've arguably the best attack in EPL but watching the performance and disjointed play sometimes, it's obvious we don't have a team yet. Our league position is more of a reflection of the team's individual qualities I must say.

One good thing about Pep's brand of football is that his team will usually score first, and scoring destabilises opponents giving his team the chance to score more and more. But when a team sets up to attack only after going a goal down, they spend the majority of the match trying to equalise instead of scoring more or killing off an opponent.
