Funny enough, we have people that think public speaking is a gift bestowed by providence on only a few rarely endowed individuals. (Don't buy that) instead, prepare your talk thoroughly, practice them at every little chance and never missed a single session of it. "If only you have the sufficient desire to do so".

The truth is what you think that your audience are thinking doesn't exist! They don't care really.

Join toastmasters club nearest to u. Do some Google Search.

Before you face a large audience, make sure you know the subject of discuss very well, then rehearse your lines privately before you present in public. It’s in practice that you can overcome stage fright, But the private rehearsals and good knowledge of the topic for discuss helps a lot. All the best!

It Happens to everyone, but you need to focus on your strength. You need to face your fear, knock it down and focus on what you can do best. My 1st experience facing audience was in SS1 (2006) and fear was that my English was bad, then could not open my mouth to present my wonderfully written debate.

But as times goes Deeper Life Bible Church trained me to be a good public speaker, in the sense that after joining youth workers (2010), i was assign to leader YHSF every Sunday. As times goes on I could teach seminars, minister from pulpit.

I overcame my fear at public speaking, with the opportunity given to me to talk to group of people.

To help your self start developing yourself in speaking to group of people, if you are a christian go for evangelism, it will boost your confidence to face people.
Also have confidence in yourself that you will not make mistake and if you do, you will apologize to the audience and correct yourself

You will fumble at your next attempt. The only way to overcome stage fright, is to speak more in public. It starts with as little as a meeting of 10people, then a gathering of 20, keep doing this over and over and suddenly you become confident in yourself.

You cannot overcome stage fright overnight, its a steady progress. Start by speaking a little more in that your group meetings, to talking to a stranger you met anywhere, your confidence would pick up !


The brain is very tricky. before any situation, the brain finds any old experience relating to that just so we can have a safe landing. When you find people laughing or becoming interested in what you say in a group, you will see how confident you will become

I know some people will not agree with or get angry at my post, but I'll say it anyways. I was a very shy person, annoyingly shy, that I lost the gal I had d biggest crush on, who even came to meet me to talk to me, but I couldn't even respond bk because of shyness. The stage was the last place I could ever imagine myself, but not until I came across the scripture in the Bible that said that I have the Spirit of boldness. Honestly after meditating on it for a while and with the Holy ghost I was able to overcome both stage freight and shyness. It was wat helped me out

My brother keep on trying it without drugs with time ull get used of doing it better without drugs. This have also happened to me although I don't take drugs. but now I can stay and talk to any amount of crowd that comes my way

. It's not about looking faces or not, from the moment I hear my name to come on stage, my heatbeat will increase rapidly that I can't even utter a word. Thinking about the stage alone makes me scared.

Lol this reminds me when I Was school head boy, my first day to conduct assembly was terrible, although it helped to make me who I am today.

- The art of public speaking (by Dale Carnegie)

- Public speaking for Success (by Dale Carnegie)

I can give you personal suggestions here but I feel Dale Carnegie books will lead you into an in-depth walk into how you can become really confident and effective at public speaking. But remember, you must first believe in yourself before anyone else will believe in you. You must also condition your brain and MIND to agree with your affirmative belief in yourself before any major progress can be made.
You must first become what you want to become in your mind (your mental picture) before you can see it manifest in reality. Just try to build the mind of "I can do it" and engage your brain and mind to agree with you using the power of visualisations.
Picture yourself in your mind speaking with super confidence and with passion and engage yourselves with these books above.... With time, you will rise to become even better than you envisioned initially. Try it Man... All the best.

And never forget to keep practicing too....

I once had a friend who experienced dry mouth syndrome on stage...his lips became pure white...assin, pure white! Pray that God take away the spirit of fear from you and that he should give you the spirit of boldness

Pick like 4 spots from left to right behind the audience but just above their heads.... as you speak...move from left to right on the stage...and back....shifting your focus from one point to the next as you move. In your mind.... focus on what you are saying... and how you are going to say it....loud for emphasis...soft or just normal tone and volume. After making that point think about the next point to speak on and how you're going to smoothly shift. You really think stage fright will get a chance when your brain is sooo occupied?

I'm highly angoraphobic

1. Always take deep full breaths in and out to regulate your pressure.

2. Have bottled water with you to sip from time to time.

3. Have the mentality that youre the one giving out the knowledge and the listeners are eager to learn from you.

4. See the audience as people that woukd like what you say regardless. (A lil bit of mental arrogance can help).

5. Finally, think of the event as being a microcosm of other events happening in this material place and time ultimately oblivious of the fact that the world has ended and we are just a passing phase in a universal construct called 'time'.
