I'm afraid to check mine on the mirror lol.. I don't have pain from the stitching but I occasionally feel an uncomfortable dull kind of pain from the muscles in the surrounding area especially when I'm standing. I feel one very tiny lump too. But that's all.

I think you should visit the hospital again oo

Have some questions tho & I'm being bothered but dr says I shouldn't, like I stated earlier, I'm a July FTM but with fibroids , been on paracetamol for the pains however I bled at 12 weeks & was on admission for 5days & dr says all I need is bed rest, I just kukuma stop work to observe d bed rest at home jeje, I'm practically walking on eggshells with this pregnancy, hubby looked at me this morning & like your tummy is just too big for your current duration (20weeks/5months) to be candid, I look 8months gone, I felt bad. The main koko I'm having now is when I lie on my left & I'm rubbing or slightly massaging my tummy, I feel this lil hardness on my right, midwife says I shouldn't be worried that it's the fibroid, but I'm not impressed that's why I'm here asking, anyone had similar issues? NB: my scan at 15weeks showed intramural, subserous & submucosal masses (only me) but baby is doing fine, viable & active. Should I be scared?

Welcome latest mama. Had same experience but not with bleeding,the pains I felt are indescribable. Since u are told not to worry please don't be scared, all is well. Just enjoy your preggy self and follow doctors advice

Pls feed our baby well ooo,He's innocent here,blame d kpekus of dat day.U should go back to d hospital cos of d open wound,pls complain to ur doctor or a gynae and let dem check it. i pray d open wound is not from a loosed stitch cos if it is,dey might want to re-stitch d place.Hope u started sitting in warm salt water after d episiotomy was done.dat really helped me a lot especially with my 2nd dat gave me a 3rd degree tear.

I started doing sitz bath b4 we left d hospital although we were allowed to use only cold water there but on getting home, I started using warm water with salt and dettol. I will give back to have it checked

Mine too was almost like what u described and I was told to sit on warm water and salt with dettol everyday for 30 mins till it heals but the best is just go to the hospital and let a doc check you. Mine was even so bad I couldn't sit without flinching and I had to start using one part of bumbum to sit. Sorry once again and pls,biko, e jor, s' il vous plait, feed our baby well he's innocent.

I was 38 weeks on the dot. And I was induced cos I was having an increasing BP. A baby is considered full term from 37 weeks.. So I don't think it's unsafe at that stage.

Something is definitely wrong, 5weeks is a long time, have you been doing sitz bath religiously, had my baby 3 weeks ago and my episiotomy site is almost healed, I think you should visit your hospital. I apply penicillin ointment to the site as well. As per the hard part it's normal, mine stops hurting for a while once I do my sitz bath.
I was also very constipated after I had my DD I drank loads of water and ate veggies, pls stay away from foods like yam, bread, snacks as well cos its made from flour. Hope this helps this helped. Sorry momma

Goldenheart002, so sorry dear for the pains. I understand the feeling very well as i had a similar experience with my 1st. It wouldnt even let you bond properly with your baby. Mine healed by wk 8.
Obviously the cut isn't healing properly. Go back to the hosp and have them look at it. If it's infected, they will give you antibiotics.
-if you are in much pains, they should give you some analgesic. Pains can affect one's mental health post partum.
- resume sitz bath with warm water(slightly hotter than warm). Add dettol/salt inside. Sit in it for up to 20mins.
- take vit c to aid wound healing.
Whenever you use the loo, wash with warm water that has antiseptic in it.
- keep the area dry, i guess lochia has stopped but of not, then change pad often.
-quit looking at it often. It will heal by secondary intention and may take as much as 8wks or longer to heal completely but it will heal. Godspeed
- for the constipation, there's this leaf called utazi by the igbos, it's bitter and used in making peppersoup, if you can, add it to your peppersoup and some foods. It's a stool softner especially during post partum. Take lots of fluid as well.

I know this is not funny but let me laugh small u made me remember what happened to me. This was me 6 weeks ago. I almost ran mad, couldnt sit well walk well or even lie down in peace. To urinate was war to pass stool nko? I would cry my eyes out in the toilet.i started looking at my baby with isoko eyes thinking he brought it upon me(not knowing it was that silly nurse). But i talked to my husband about it. He insited on taking alook and then he started begging and my house chores stopped totally giving me plenty time to rest. he also helped with taking care of baby and bringing him to me only when he wanted to feed. That helped me heal mentally.
I showed a midwife(mil)and she said the person that sewed me didnt do a neat job thats why i have that red skin (it looks like an injury and painful to touch) she said i should continue sitz bath but added salt nd dettol. And try and pat dry (i used my baby's wipes. It was soothing)then use penicillin ointment.i also reused the antibiotics and pain relief tablets i was given at the hospital. After doing that for a week i saw noticeable changes. The red skin reduced. Then read online about someone that used gentain violet(gv) i stopped pencillin and used gv instead. I found that it made the site dry and it helped healing faster. Its been 11 weeks now and all that is left is just a small red part(i dont even feel pain again and i have done the DO with hubby twice ) so i would advice u try sitz bath and pencillin for a week religously
Drink plenty water this would make ur stool really soft and also ur pee wont burn when u urinate
Lastly was catheter used on u during delivery? It was used on me nd i couldnt urinate well for some time. It felt like it was coming out from a wrong hole.but it improved with time when i started doing kegel exercise
Dont worry you would be fine before you know it (trust me)dont bother yourself when u hear people say u must heal by 6 weeks. All our bodies are different so we heal differently. Some people heal at 3 weeks some 3 months.i read that what happened to me is called tissue granulation( na dr google talk am o). That why i had that red flesh.(your body is trying to heal really fas but it ended up producing more tissues than needed thats why u have the excess outside . But it will fall off with time u wont even notice it)
But above all if all these doesnt improve before ur babys next vaccination pls complain to a midwife or gynae

I experienced same during my first birth. This was the advice I got here DAT saw me try. Use moko spirit n wool to clean it ALWAYs to keep it dry always. Avoid any liquid touching it and don't use pad for now cos d pad scratches it.

Yes o. U must return the yam na. One year abegi change that plan o.....the deed went well. I was so scared but it went well i was even thinking my vjay would have turned to well. It was like pre baby but we had to be extremely careful ...no monkey in the shadow style oooo

Don't worry so much about it..... the fibroids make the tummy look bigger than usual.....
Just rest and drink plenty plenty water

Story of my life, am a first time mum and am 11 weeks gone, I used to work with a movie production company but had to quit cos my boss told me due to the stressful nature of my job, I had to quit.

I recently just got married too and I had plans to work atleast 6months before I start thinking about babies, but we all know God always has a different plan from ours.


I've been sick and not been going out although I don't vomit, hobby leaves home as early as 5am and comes back sometimes 9pm,

Anyways lemme not bore you all, I've been craving seemingly unhealthy foods like zobo, pineapples,abacha(African salad) nkwobi, isi ewu and the likes and I've been told not to indulge in them cos of some active ingredient in them which can cause miscarriage, am scared cos I can't eat. I hate vegetables I can manage fruits but I want sth stronger that can help curb my spitting frequent sickness I've read stuff on line and my fear is 2x more.
Please I need help and I can't start ante natal until am 3months gone.
