ultron12345:Keep deceiving yourself People have been surviving without so-called doctors for 1000s of years. I don't go to the hospital for example. I self medicate and it has been working perfectly for me. |

I'm just pained I didn't study medicine. Is not that I didn't have the brain for it. If you guys know how much doctors are paid outside naija. |

OSUigbo:You are right, Medicine is an Art, Medical students are like Apprentices, they learn from various teachers both dead and alive till they too advance in knowledge do more research and write their own books. It continues like that, that's why diseases such like malaria, measles, polio are no longer life threatening as they once were. Nigeria Engineering school is nothing to write home about, you people are not being taught much, and the little you are being taught you can't even apply it to anything. I was never an Engineering student but i have experience with them from both BUK and OAU. Your lecturers just give you handouts, set some tough questions for you, fail you and brag about failing you. How many times do you go to the Laboratory in a week, what equipment do you have there? Are they useful and up to date? Finally, do you know how many half baked Engineering graduates are being churn out on a yearly basis by a single school? You only get paid from where you work. Only few of them can be absorbed in the few industries we have in Nigeria, while majority will be posted to schools to teach science subjects. |

ultron12345:Lmao! Furthermore, it's not a question of what you studied, but the kind of service you offer. A medical doctor working as a doctor in a busy clinic can't be compared with an engineer teaching secondary school physics twice weekly in one village school |

ultron12345:u forgot to add pharmac. and also the fact at at a medical student you are sometimes made to go for calls which you are no paid for, you spend your nights in the hospital assisting doctors, no to mention that from the moment you enter med school you are already under pressure, people see you as as doc already and ask u about things you don't know. anyway well spoken sir...I mean...when others are on holiday we are cracking our heads, Xmas holidays are now more or less less 6/7 day break...I could go on and on... ![]() ultron12345:u forgot to add pharmac. and also the fact at at a medical student you are sometimes made to go for calls which you are no paid for, you spend your nights in the hospital assisting doctors, no to mention that from the moment you enter med school you are already under pressure, people see you as as doc already and ask u about things you don't know. anyway well spoken sir...I mean...when others are on holiday we are cracking our heads, Xmas holidays are now more or less less 6/7 day break...I could go on and on... |

Stephaustin:this post self....so wat of other people how much do we value them both engineering and medicine students are all mad to me...every body deserve fair treatment as far education is concerned wat is special in medicine self...wole Soyinka our Nobel laureate is an expert in literature yet idiots relegate other discipline to d background....today we don't teach history in our schools from primary to secondary....hw much more tertiary... A sane country give value to everyone cos evry tin and sector is important in a country.... |

OSUigbo:God forbid anything bad thing should happen to you, even if you are good at it, there are just some things you can't 'self medicate' for |

blackbeau1:If you are an engineer in the telecom industry, you will work thrice the time because all base station must be up 24hours not minding if there is a mudslide happening in the area. As you work, you solve new problems everyday from your head. But in medicine, if there is no cure for a particular ailment, no doctor can improvise. They will leave the person to die. |
| Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by blackbeau1(f): 9:23am On Mar 08, 2018 |
polite2:that's applicable to just those working with the telecom industry. This applies to all doctors. At least until they specialise |

Harbidexy5:Bros I feel you.......According to the law of thermodynamics which express that if you are not in the system you are out of the system........Doctors are out of the Engineering system that's why they wont know what is happening there......I don't really blame them much but the "Nigerian Society of Engineers" Medicine is a child's play when it comes to Engineering they need to check out documentaries to see what we Nigerian Engineers are doing in the sea....they will learn to respect engineers....They should also know that Engineering is a practical thing and continuous changes with methods not an Orthodox as the case of medicine |
| Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by OSUigbo: 9:27am On Mar 08, 2018 |
Ximenez:I believe we have more half-baked so-called doctors than engineers. Engineering is not all about what they teach you in school, it about critical thinking and inventions. Medical students only learn from what is written in the book by someone (a researcher). Engineering is INFINITY. Modern medicine of today is made possible by engineers. The most notable people that have impacted and shaped life are engineers. |

Harbidexy5:as an educationist, the two of u are cognitively delayed, meaning ur mental age is far below ur chronological age. no course is better than the other. |
| Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by OSUigbo: 9:30am On Mar 08, 2018 |
ultron12345:Lol See how you're disgracing yourself publicly? THEY ARE CALLED mechanical and electrical engineers... |

Ximenez:And if they ask you to climb a chopper to offshore now |
| Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by CSTR2: 9:31am On Mar 08, 2018 |
Rangojack:That is the problem. Engineers corpers work as teachers. And there is no way you can expect to be paid as much as people who work in a hospital. If the FG starts posting engineers to oil firms, refineries and food manufacturing companies, doctors salaries will no longer look special. The main solution is to stop posting graduate engineers to public schools. |

vickatcch:Don't mind them, they will be asking old people about her husband, the number of children she has. If the husband is dead, will be asking you the year he died as if na Wetin won treat the woman be that. They will carry stethoscope on their neck without knowing anything. The thing dey always make me laugh. |

TemiGod:doctors have hospitals to go work. For engineers, no industry for you. You can only teach physics , chemistry, maths, etc. Who then do you think would pay you the higher allowance? FG? FG allawee is same for all - no discrimination. |
| Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by Ximenez(m): 9:35am On Mar 08, 2018 |
UDIOK:Exactly, those are the real Engineers, and guess what? They earn far more than Doctors, talk of 7 figures salary. That's why i envy my cousin. You get paid from where you work. You studied Mechanical Engineering, then after graduation you started teaching Physics, closing 2pm everyday. Are you an Engineer like that what are you Engineering? |

Michael004:It's part of the work, you have to get close to your patient and be sympathetic, make him or her feel comfortable with you. It's part of the first thing a Medical student will be taught in part 4, which is the first Clinical year under Clinical Methods. |
| Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by OGHENAOGIE(m): 9:41am On Mar 08, 2018 |
pedrilo:only two courses out of thousands of courses....so those who study English philosophy economics etc shd go and die |
| Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by Ximenez(m): 9:43am On Mar 08, 2018 |
Purehuman:That's exactly the point, how much do those Engineers in the telecom earn? It's different from studying Engineering and teaching chemistry in a comprehensive high school. That means you are no longer an Engineer. |

TemiGod:bro take it easy, I used to think of it the same way as you, but on a closer look its not the fault of the medical students but largely that of the so called NSE and Coren all they care about is collecting money from ppl to do exams so you can finally be one of them. If you are not partnering with schools, helping with their curriculum, making sure whatever is been fed the students is what is really needed, if you are not exposing the students to practical workplace experiences, how would you expect me to pay such graduate something meaningful as salary. You may claim swep, siwes, and I.T. have done that, but wait a minute, how many of my guys did the last siwes program and how many are going to participate in the I.T. program, most of that time will be spent playing games, some looking for money, and I actually don't blame those looking for money cos they know some of you will do I.T and not get the money from I.T.F government promised you and the companies won't even pay, that's if you even get a company in the first place, Y a medical student already as a place to gather as much experience as possible, the so called NSE and COREN can't make school partner with companies in their region so every student as a placement for all attachment programs and are duly monitored during d program.(not the type that I already knew my supervisor from school will be coming next week then I make sure am present when he comes) and on government's part they could have done more with their NUC accreditation stuff by really monitoring schools and seeing to it that engineering graduates have really been thoroughly bred. I think things will continue this way, except the engineering regulatory bodies first take the future of the profession serious, after which it will be easier to make demands from the government, for me I do want more than the 19800 bt it will be unfair to castigate the medical graduates over our regulatory authorities inefficiencies. |

OSUigbo:the drugs ur taking are now what. Thank goodness u have accepted that emeka that learnt mechanic or electrician work via apprenticeship is equal if not better and more useful than you university engineers |
