I always spotted you sneaking in and out of this classroom........

NB: Because you refused to enrol, and you clearly refused to buy handouts (only collecting handouts from paid students).....

Your smartness has exempted you from tithe payments. Payment due - £0.00

When you apply for Tier 2 dependant visa, your surname plays no relevance......

Even if your Name is - Caramel Cookie and your husband's Mr Doungnut Icecream, it does not matter......

this thread is not really for you. You need to apply for a tier two dependant visa please don't make the same mistake I made. This thread is for spouses of British citizen and citizen with indefinite leave to remain which is different from tier two leave to remain.

PS: you don't need to change your name, you can do that anytime you want.

I don't think there is a thread for tier two dependant but I think it's very straight forward. Check the gov website.
You only need to show that your husband have about 1500£ in his account for 90 days before you apply or if you have that amount in your account. Or if your husband's place of work is on the approved sponsor list and can write a letter for you. I think if you can do this with your proof of communication and wedding certificate you are good to go.
PS: check the gov website and read through all the necessary pages . Best of luck

Please fellas, what do they mean by if you have leaved together as a couple? I am filling the VAF4A. That area is grey for me because we haven't stayed together but have been seeing whenever in Nigeria. Secondly how does one account for things paid together, because I don't have receipts bearing both our names, but we have contributed money together before. Please I may be asking elementary questions but with the way I have been hearing scrupulous reasons for rejections I want to be properly guided by those that have been through this and are successful.
thanks

please where do i send an email to on status of my application. Yesterday was my day 30 for my priority visa.

I also haven't received my documents back from UKVI, is this unusual?

I never got an email from UKVI to state they received my documents apart from on the TLS site that has received by UKVI.

For my husband's one, I put the dates we spent together when I visited him in Nigeria. This also matched my flight details as well.
Secondly, if you sent her money or she sent you money wether through money transfer people or bank, highlight this in the statements you're submitting. She can get receipts from the money transfer person she used. Hope this is helpful. Good luck

My wife and I found this thread after submitting her application for settlement and we have frequently visited here in the intervening period between submission of application and decision.

Application Timeline

Visa Category applied for: Spouse-wife (Non-priority)
Centre : Ikeja, Lagos
Application submitted online : 4 December, 2017
Biometrics : 8 December, 2017
Supporting documents sent to sheffield by DHL : 8 December, 2017
Documents received mail from UKVI : 11 December, 2017
Supporting documents in transit to me - Royal Mail tracker : 5 March, 2018
Supporting documents received by me : 6 March, 2018
Decision made – TLS tracker and TLS email : 7 March, 2018 am
Ready for collection : TLS tracker and TLS email : 7 March, 2018 pm
Passport collected : 8 March, 2018
Decision : Approved
Vignette validity : 11 March, 2018 to 10 April, 2018

I have assisted some of my clients with the financial requirement compliance for their Tier 1 FLR applications, so I had the confidence to tackle my wife’s application without a solicitor.
My advice to applicants - address and ensure your fulfillment of each eligibility and suitability criteria is unequivocally conveyed to the ECO by your application and supporting documents.

Whatsapp chats were 2/3 downloaded pages per month - the beginning and middle of each month and around important milestones.

For self employed sponsors, please ensure your accounts are signed by an accountant who is a member of a UK Recognised Supervisory Body (as defined in the Companies Act 2006) – ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI or who is a member of the Institute of Financial Accountants and they must have a current Practising Certificate.

I took the supporting documents with me to Nigeria in November 2017 and I left them with my wife when I returned to the UK. We thought they would be scanned at her biometrics appointment as per the misleading information on their website. She had to send them to Sheffield by DHL.
I bought a prepaid special delivery envelope for £7.25 and sent it to UKVI, also by special delivery, so that I could track both envelopes.

I transferred funds to my Zenith Bank account in Nigeria for the application fee and IHS, but was only able to pay the IHS because of the $1,000 per month transaction limit imposed by CBN. I ended up paying the application fee with my UK debit card.

Below is the table of contents attached to our supporting documents. I hope it is of use to those yet to submit their supporting documents.

Guys, my documents have not been returned to me, should I panic? I got my visa since 27th Feb with an entry date of 3rd March. Is there an email I can mail for unreturned documents? I did and included the self-addressed envelop in my documents to them, and I am very meticulous, so i obviously made copies of everything i wanted returned to me, as instructed.
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by tayeby78: 2:29pm On Mar 13, 2018
No need to panic. You've got your visa and that's all that matters for now.
It took them a while to return my husband's docs. I think about 8 weeks or so if I'm not mistaken. Even @Lamakinde as well. They just have a backlog. Your docs will be returned.

I actually mailed them to ask if I can change it but they said no that I should withdraw the application and I said OK to the withdrawal and they said they will return my passport within 15working days. So I was just waiting for them to return it so I can reapply.

Then I got the usual passport ready for collection yesterday evening. When I got to tsl and they gave me my passport I just noticed a paper in it so I already gave up that it's the refusal letter so I didn't bother checking the passport, just opened the folded sheet to see that my application was successful and my passport stamped. Come and see the way I shout for inside danfo.
The lord is good, he is kind and faithful.

WOW! I am just seeing this! Congratulations ooo. Eeyah. God is Good

Me I am still waiting for my supporting documents to be returned...very frustrating...
