An average Nigerian is naturally GREEDY, we always on the receiving end(we call on the government to build roads, clear gutters and sweep the dirty streets and house corners, RUBBISH!!!), and that's why Nigeria is still underdeveloped!
Go to other develop countries, you pay charges on each car, house you have! That's why an average citizen of those countries, have only one house or car, not that they lack money in acquiring more, but the advances in charge which is tantamount to liability cost!!

Everyone has reason for their actions whether right or wrong.. The negative effect this increase will hv on residents, businesses etc was not well articulated before their conclusion was drawn... Eg increment in rent, the Nigeria government (Federal & state) always finding means to impoverish & stress it's citizens

Bad law. Very bad law. Ambode, u can't copy America piecemeal. It is an entire system that works together. You can't copy it here and there. It won't work. Nigeria is a different type of society. Never forget that.

Who does the valuation? Where is the sincerity and honesty in government being the one to value your house and also tell you how much you are to pay as tenement rate? They'd simply overvalue your property and calculate the rate with an inflated valuation.
