I really appreciate this sir. If I may ask again, can I use police report I collected for Canada to be used for New Zealand. The police report is not up to a month now

Nigeria PCC? I thought the purpose and destination country is always written on it!

For Nigeria PCC, they will just write that the person is travelling to so so so country. That's all, no purpose of travel. They wrote Canada on the one I have but no purpose. So, wondering if I can use it for NZ

Hello everyone!

Pls what type of medical is required for potential phd students? Is the medical to be done before the visa application?

Secondly, if a phd student gets a permanent job offer from an employer during the course of his studies how would he handle that?
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by Nobody: 3:58pm On Mar 08, 2018
@Concept. Pls, I'd like you to please attend to this.
I'm in talks with someone who's gonna help with my NZ visa application. I'm positive on this ayways as I'm hoping to to mke the journey in May, but I just want to ask a question that bothers. From your own experience, having been able to travel to NZ, Please, is it compulsory that one with NZ e-visa apply for transit visas before embarking on the journey since its obvious there's no direct flight there. My reason is that i've considered transit visas applications a huddle a few times when i try my hands on some long distance travel plans. While some would say it is not necessary since i'm not entering the transit country (only stopping over to change flights), some would say, I won't even be allowed to board any aircraft without a transit V on my passport.
It this true or its mere rumour. Kindly put me through on how to route my flight such that no case/challenge of transit visa would arise.
I need you to pls clarify/advice me on how to go about this. Thanks

NB: Departure is Lagos
    Destination is Auckland, NZ

Which University is yours?

Delvindy:

Yes.
I recently got a full scholarship for PhD. I don't have any publication.
But, I have presented a poster at a seminar and I did posses some of the skills that were required by my supervisor's research grant.
All I did was submit my documents and proposal to my supervisor, who accepted me and then the department forwarded my credentials to the school.
Alongside my admission application, I applied for scholarship and I was successful.
They say once your supervisor accepts you, it is usually not much of a big deal to scale through the other processes. They say. I don't know.

Do I need to tell INZ how I will fund my second and third year tuition fee in my motivation letter, since I am showing only funds for first year?

Does anyone have a sample letter of motivation?

You will need a full medical examination before lodging your visa application online. Refer to INZ1121 form for full information. I think Fatayi Wiliam is responsible.

Secondly, if a phd student gets a permanent job offer from an employer during the course of his studies how would he handle that?

PhD study visa comes with unlimited work right for any employer at the moment. Using the employment for another purpose is a different ball game. Also, how to combine studying and working full time is something to think about

Someone helping you?
I know if your flight is going through Australia, you will need a transit visa even if you are not stepping out of the plane. However, there is an Emirate flight that does Lagos-Dubai-Auckland. You will need to find out yourself.

Kindly use google to search.
Why would you leave Nigeria(if so) to come all the way for a vocational course? I am not sure INZ will consider you a bonafide student.

You need to do full medicals at Fatayi-Williams Clinic, Lagos. It is done before visa application when you book an appointment at the clinic, you cannot submit your application without it. It costs 85,000 Naira.
All the details for this are written in the visa application guidelines on the website.

As a PhD student, you are required to put in 40 hours a week for your work. So if you get a permanent job (which usually requires 40 hours a week too), you need to decide how to manage both. It is not even advisable. You can do part time and weekend jobs instead.

If you cannot get someone to help you, you can do it yourself. Quite straight forward. Read the guidelines, prepare all the documents needed, start your application. Attach every document you need to proof your reason to go to NZ, study there and that at the end of your study, you will be leaving.

As for flight, there is the Lagos - Ethiopia - Singapore - Auckland route, this was the cheapest as at when I wanted to travel.
Obviously, before booking I checked Google just to be sure I did not require transit visas through these countries.
If you fly through Australia, you will need a transit visa.
There is a more direct route as @cconcept mentioned.
Lagos - Dubai - Auckland.
Consult a flight agent.

Thank you Delvindy. What if someone intends to do it in Abuja, IOM? The IOM people were called and they wete asking if it is chest xray, limited or general? And for the general, they said it is more than 100k, then limited is about 60k.
Pls in this instance, would the full medical be the limited or general? I am asking because of the price. The 85k one from Fatayi is it the limited or general? As IOM is charging over a 100 K.
Pls your thoughts. Kind regards

I'm also going to Otago. I have five publications, one international conference presentation and Distinction in MSc from UK and they refuse to give me scholarship.

Me and my supervisor even met physically when he came to UK. That's where we conceive the project idea

Full medical is usually General medical certificate . . . In IOM, it is precisely 102k. Meanwhile . . .

When to get a medical examination
1. You’re staying in New Zealand for more than 12 months
You must provide a medical certificate if you’ll be staying in New Zealand for more than 12 months, or applying for residence.
If you are in New Zealand, the time you’ve already spent here will count towards the 12 months.

2. You're applying for a Student Visa
If you'll be staying for more than 12 months, you must have a medical examination if any of the following apply:
you’re applying for a Student Visa to be a PhD, NZ Aid or exchange student
you’ve used intravenous drugs
you’ve had a blood transfusion
you’ve been exposed to a serious infectious disease
we ask you to have one.

This is different from when you need to have just x-ray. See details https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/criteria/new-zealand-aid-programme-student-visa?nationality=nationality-NGA&country=residence-NGA&applying=no#https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/tools-and-information/medical-info/when-you-need-an-x-ray-or-medical-examination/slider

Please house do I need medicals if am applying for Visit visa and am intending to spend 10days ?
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by suckermaterial: 9:05am On Mar 24, 2018
Hello house, after submitting my student visa application online with an amount far more than the required fund ($15000 NZ) in my name with my pay slips and my employment contract to show prove of fund. INZ is till saying that they are not sure that I will have access to sufficient fund during my stay in NZ.
Please do anyone have experience on this issue?. I even added landed properties of my family and prove of my relationship with them. Should I use a sponsorship letter to show that I will have access to sufficient fund and clearly state that the required amount will be transferred to my account to take care of my second and third year? .
Thanks so much.
