One wonders what kind of operation they’re running at FBNQuest. Relatively all equity traded mutual funds posted gains relative to the NSE market for this week. Yet FBNQuest have posted a huge loss for the week.
Heads up for the guys looking at mutual fund managers to do business with.

Stanbic's yield today inched up to 14.95%. I pray it stays well above 15 in the days to come.

I stopped watching MMF rates after I diversified. GIF and Bond are doing so well. I am even putting more in equity. Its no longer scary.

Please what are the month to date returns on GIF and BOND fund. I did equity in January, but had to switch most part back to MMF.

One thing is these other instruments are long term investments. Looking at month till date returns will not help the projections. Ideally investments should be kept there for 5 years upwards.

Oh, I see.
I still need some time before I can really start going long term. it was for impatience that I exited the equity fund in January.

Thanks for the response.

As a long termer, You should have huge stock holdings right?

angry I intend visiting Stanbic IBTC next week to enroll in the Mutual money fund investment. I want to start with N20,000 for now but I intend increasing it monthly. I am hustling for now but I really need to invest for tomorrow. How do I calculate returns daily, monthly and yearly? I was actually taught but I have forgotten the process. Thank you

Please if you are on Stanbic Money Market Fund, explain.

I have an MMF account since Jan. I decided to use the subscription feature of the APP to increase the fund 2 days ago.

The payment was acknowledged by email but hasnt reflected on my app. It's still the old balance showing.

ALSO,
Beneath the Balance, it shows the interest amount. When I am redeeming the money is it the interst and my capital that i can withdraw or the whole of my balance?

Thanks

Mansard is also net of fees, just confirmed.

Has your daily earned interest ever matched the effective quoted yield?

I have been keeping a spreadsheet of daily interest for both Stanbic and ARM, and they both vary meaningfully from the effective yields quoted on their pages.

I think the entire industry lacks transparency.

Monitored it for a few days when I started and the earned interest matched the quoted yield. I have since lost track but now that you've called my attention to it, I'll monitor over the next one month and revert.

I agree with you on the lack of transparency, you can't even know how much interest they are making off your money. All you know is whatever rate they choose to display on their site.

I recall going through stanbics website and they never mentioned their annual management fee(or I didn't see it). For all I care, they could be milking as much as 3% off investors who are bearing all the risks.

I think the reason mf enjoys a healthy inflow of cash is the lack of better low risk investment alternatives. Tbill isn't any better, same with FGN bonds and FD is not even an option.

The day a better alternative comes, funds will dry off mfs same way the funds rushed in.

You are right sir, there's a difference between the rate they quote and what is being paid.

From my calculation, it's a 0.00066 percent difference. Looks small and negligible especially if your fund size is as small as mine.

Those who have as much as 100m will "lose" 66k daily.

Mine is quite meaningful, upto about 1.31% for ARM and 0.63% for Stanbic.

When my funds were little initially (<100k), there was not much difference. In fact, for Stanbic, I got higher yields than the effective quoted yield. However, as soon as I scaled up, the difference became pronounced.

You can deposit like N1m and monitor for around a week. It would be beneficial to see if Axa is more transparent.

Is that percentage difference per day or annualised? If per day, that results in a 0.24% difference between actual yield and quoted yield. Still smaller than both Stanbic and ARM, though.

Thanks for sharing, bro. I think others should report their discrepancies too, so we can have a more equitable measure of comparison between the funds.

Good evening, guys. I plan to start up a MMF with stanbic ibtc tomorrow, already got the form. Plan to submit tomorrow and get started. I was going to invest 320. But I just stumbled on this thread now and realised AXA mansard has a higher interest rate. Would you still advise me to go for Stanbic?

Go for Axa mansard. Better rates, better customer care. I dumped Stanbic for Axa mansard.

I log in on a daily basis to view my account. Also same day payment reflection/liquidation can be achieved if action is carried out early enough.
