I wouldnt have a problem paying more as long as we have steady power supply but we have gone down this road before and the outcome was the same. This is about the 3rd time Fashola and his people have increased energy tariff. No thanks, i would be using my inverter, my generator to charge my inverter and a small solar panel I intend to get my hands on. Nigeria is a failed project. Nepa should feel free to disconnect the power cables anytime. 3 Likes |

sdindan: I know Bubu is not doing too well...but the price increase was written into the law governing privatisation of power in 2014...long before Bubu took office. Plus...if you want to reverse the whole privatization process...know say that you will end up with govt paying billions in compensation. And no...I supported the privatization thing..so not blaming anyone. 1 Like |

kuntash: So how do we pay for electricity? Is it from oil that we are not earning enough cash from? That we need at $140 per barrel before we can say we have the cash plenty? Or is it from agric or mines...that are going to take time to get back on stream? I think you guys want us to take another IMF loan.... When GSM came, Obj allowed MTN, and co to charge high prices (My dad got his first sim in 2003 for N10000). We ALL complained...but those high GSM fees netted the GSM companies the amount of money to make improvements...which led to price crashing. Either we pay for light from our pockets.....or we take another loan from Mama IMF that our great grand children will still be paying. Your choice. The amount of money to fix the thing is plenty...and we dont have a choice. 1 Like |

100,000 megawatts by 2030 How possible? Is this man a Nigerian or an alien? One thing I see here is that the man doesn't know what he is saying. I expect the journalists to only report reasonably realistic figures and not to join politicians to deceive us. 1 Like |

tivta: Shebi na from sand you go create the money to buy solar panel? You people, stop expecting freebies. Agreed this govt is not doing well....but fixing power is going to cost money. That is why GEJ privatized the thing...reality. |

Cromcruach91:u are very correct sir. Nigerians want heaven on earth but they are not ready to pay for it. They like comparing social amenities in Nigeria to those in developed countries but forget that in developed countries, those amenities are paid for, while here in Nigeria, we pay nothing. Money does not grow on trees. 1 Like |
