My people please i need a clarification here...

I have my admission letter already, I have opened my fintiba account and I will be funding it soon.
Now, if I book an interview date for May, and it takes about 4 weeks for my visa to be ready after my interview (that should be around June ending), will i be issued a visa that will start counting from the month it was issued ?
My enrolment begins on 3rd of September, so if my visa happens to start counting from the date (June) it was issued, it means the 3 months visa will be close to expiration by the time I will be arriving Germany.

So please is it advisable I book the dates in May now, or wait till maybe June, or will the visa not start counting from the day it was issued?
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by jejet1: 8:48am On Mar 26, 2018
You will be asked to bring a 3 month travel insurance when your visa is approved. The insurance should date start at your intended travel date.
I will choose 3-4 weeks to resumption date so I wont have to spend much money before getting my semester ticket. So your visa starts on the date on your travel insurance.

Good evening all.

please what can one do if after more than 11 weeks of interview, no AM nd all required docs have been submitted.

Alien office saying expecting docs from embassy and Embassy keeps saying application is being processed whenever contacted..

thanks

My cousin is also waiting for AM, she's in her 11 week too.
Whenever she mails embassy they keep saying it's being processed.

Her SL is from Kiel.

She contacted the alien office of her intended School, Magdeburg and they replied that they've approved her Visa from the alien office. So I don't know what's delaying them till now. Her school starts today.

Please house can you help out with suggestions on what can be done.

You can choose a date that's 3months before your intended day of traveling. Processing time is from 4-8weeks (longer or shorter in some cases) so it's not a most it's 4weeks.

When ur AM arrives you would be asked for ur intended travel date that would correspond with what's on ur insurance

Thank you so much for this. This was really helpful, I will be booking my visa appointment right away then.

Please, hope it is possible and without any hassles to resume at a different school, in a different state from the one you got your visa with
I am still expecting admission from other schools even though I have one already.

Thank you for the additional input. it's clear to me now.
All i have to do now when I receive the AM (God willing) is to provide an insurance that will start counting close to my intended date of travel which is also when they will make the visa to start counting.

Nothing to worry about. more dates will be added in due time.
You should concentrate more on getting your admission letter now.

You can resume at a different school. I did same 6 years ago. Its not a problem. Register in your city hall as soon as possible, so that your file will be transferred to yoour new city as soon as possible. This takes average of 5 weeks.

Good day,
Is it okay to contact the Alien Office of my intended place of study to ask about my visa status?
If yes, How do I contact the Alien Office?

Is it wise to contact the Alien Office of my intended place of study to ask about my visa status(Hannover)?
It's been about 4 weeks since I had my interview at the embassy

Sweetheart, don't look at ur age ....just go for it, the highest they will say is NO but then again what if they say YES and u didn't even try?....I am 32 and am going for BSc and no one will stop me! cheesy ....besides when I was doing some read up on Germany, they said Germany is a country that has many matured learners....so go for it...whether u are 60, fat or small, go for it.....All u really need is to get admission first and then take it one step at a time.....and having gone through questions asked at embassy, I see that Visa Officers mostly want to know what u know about their country!...so, go for it and try not to dwell on ur age, focus on the course and the country!

Ps: when applying for school prepare a nice CV and a great Motivation Letter finish!
