rafindo:
As a huge fan of Flora nwapa, I saw myself as an emblem of defending the woman as an equal partner in the project called humanity. I engrossed more of my reading the novel jagua Nana and the joy of motherhood , how the women then represent the definition of struggle to achieve success in the mist of men dominated sphere. I became an advocate of women right and a feminist my fellow men mocked me about defending nigeria woman.
I changed my position after 5years of studying a Nigerian woman and these are theory of that study.

No need training a Nigerian girl to a university level reason been that they have no plan beyond six months all they do during the university days is dating aristos or looking for who will take care of her and her needs.

Second the Nigeria girls are economically parasitic to the economy all the mindset they possess are consumption driven not productive, so training them is not an economical cost for the government.

Why train people who are only interested in watching Philippines, Mexico, zeeworld and the useless bbnaija program. Naturally Nigerian girls are shallow thinkers. Show me any nigeria girl with a solid plan beyond 6months that does not have marriage as a theme and I will never comment again in nairaland.

Lastly all Nigerian girl from the age of 16-40 are all prostitutes. Did I say that yes and I stand by it. Prostitution is defined as an arrangement where a woman seeks favours either in kind or in cash for rendering service such as sex, girlfriend, kissing, romancing or any act capable of given her an undue advantage over a man.
Your girlfriend is a prostitute if you have to spend any money on her during the dating. Simply put you are paying for her service.

I pray that government train more guys since all the girls are interested in his who will take care of her responsibility.
On behalf of former hardcore feminist I rest my case
.

and the boys also statement, you mean it is when boys are educated that most Nigerian ladies are going to know their worth in the society? I've seen where a mom was telling her daughter who who's in 100lv, that she must not exceed age 22before getting married, what nonsense. Women need to be educated first because they're the ones who plant this useless ideologies into their daughters to make them take marriage as their priority in life.
Yes. Boys need to be enlightened as well. Look at you, for instance, you don't know that women have the ability to contribute positively to a nation's economy.

As for those mothers..........they are pandering to a need. They don't want their daughters to become.......what word do you guys use? Old meat?..........so they try to love-vendor their daughters out in good time. It's not necessarily because they don't trust their girls to become good doctors or lawyers or engineers; they just don't want those girls to get all of that success before finding a husband. Because a woman's success scares most Nigerian men away. And our culture is obsessed with marriage (especially for women). And most men, like yourself, want young women, who are not educated but have degrees, to be submissive and domestic. And that's what most women are trying to be for you.

So, yes: education is required. For girls and boys.

Guy...abi lady, you're annoyed oooh shocked

The independent ladies you talked about are definitely educated ...and they also aspire for a future partner to settle down with

Ladies crave security in marriage and that includes finance. Although there are those who feel that settling down is their focus and getting a rich dude is priority, they need to understand that having goals in life is necessary
rich dude is the goal

is it by making marriage their priority that they're going to contribute to the Nigerian economy?

and how are some contributing to the nation's welfare?
how many ladies to we have in the military(navy, army, marines, air force)?

96% of the Nigerian military is made up of men.

and the last statement I bolded, how can an uneducated person have degrees?

How many should I have mentioned? Out of 180 million, how many male business owners would you dare mention? Take the challenge and let's vet the percentage. That link was for your benefit, in case you weren't satisfied with 10. And the point of mentioning female entrepreneurs was to show you ways that women contribute.

Don’t know how much exposure you or what sort of circles you mingle in but I can say difitively say there are a lot more educated and focused women of there then you care to realise. Most don’t go about preaching form roof tops
They do
That’s how you know they are successful and none want the baggage of a man who is not at their level.

the Nigerian workforce is 75% dominated by men so wtf are you talking about BTW I'm not saying most naija ladies aren't educated(seems you have comprehension issues), fact is majority of Nigerian ladies, marriage is their top priority after getting their degrees.

and to your last statement who'd marry someone not in his /her level?

never preached about marrying a broke person.

if you're a rich dude get on with people in your standard not lower class broke people, same applies to rich ladies.

Because you said in your earlier post: in a country of 180 million people, only ten contribute to the economy.

Clearly you are in dire need of educations on the issue. And you may choose to begin with the simple exercise of identifying female entrepreneurs and business owners in your family, and then your village...........then your local government area.......and if all you can find is parasitic elements then use google.

and the last statement I bolded, how can an uneducated person have degrees?
If you're asking this question, then I don't even know what to say to you. You aren't aware that there's a difference between getting a degree and getting educated in the Nigerian context? You don't know that there are countless "graduates" out of school who cannot defend their certificates because they didn't put the work in? And this, in a system where the only education you're ready to accept is the one on the menu: the one you pay for.

Even in the military,
even the self employed entrepreneurs you're talking about, men dominate those areas.

What's the point canceling when you're still going to respond to the quote. Did you just prefer to read across the line? If you don't live in a village (could have fooled me) then your task is simplified: you can take a taxi from junction to junction, as you take your inventory. 92%.......75%...........such inconsistency. Are you edging closer to the truth (if you know it), or just getting confused all over this page. You see, this is what happens when you open you don't respect facts.

What's the essence of this stupidity? That was going to be my initial reaction but i realise certain points on further thought.
1. The OP is not an idiot, frustrated nor is he stupid. He is just angry.
2. The OP had made some obvious observations both on and off line, came to a conclusion, which is his point of view, and have held this point of view for sometime.
3. Something triggered his opening this thread.
4. OP knew his point of view isn't completely true but just can't seem to place his fingers on it.
I will say I support the OP, to an extent. When you look at the issue from the surface, why bother going to school, when you know all you're after is to marry some unfortunately fortunate rich dude. Why bother getting a BSc when you know you aint using it for nothing. Isn't that a waste of time and resources? Kukuma stay home and beautify that face. I have had this thought too and fully understand the OP. Some ladies don't deserve to be educated! Sounds stupid, and sexist but it's what a quick, thoughtful look around will show.
But, if the OP would just take a deep breathe, hold his breathe and dip his head, not minding all the muddy junks, below the surface he will realise the issue and the rot(causd of his anger) is far deeper than he thought. INFACT LADIES ARE THE ONES THAT NEED EDUCATING MOST. Late for church already got to run.

I don't agree with you Op? the reasons are:
1. Most naija girls are mentally fit to learn in a classroom setting.
2. Most naija girls are not broke as you may think because they have what it takes to make it far in life.
3. Most naija girls are more opportuned than naija guys in the labour market.

Your thread is okay since you didn't generalise but I may counter it back with facts by opening a thread when less busy.

4. OP knew his point of view isn't completely true but just can't seem to place his fingers on it.

that's what I mean, some people don't comprehend before insulting the poster.. if marriage is all you think about, why bother to get a degree? because most girls going to school are doing it because fellow ladies are doing it, they have no intention to contribute to the Nigerian economy with that degree. 45% of the ladies in NYSC, the only thing on their mind right now is how to see a man that will marry them and take care of them and other shiíts after finishing their service program.

you have comprehension issues, who said Nigerian ladies don't have the mentality to learn in a classroom?

most naija ladies are broke, nothing to argue about.

why sponsor someone to school to acquire a degree when the person won't make use of that degree to add to the Nigerian economy?

most naija ladies are going to school simply because their mates are going to school, so that they'll have the graduate name tag.

the only priority they have is"how to have an husband that will take care of them",

For girls and boys.
please we are talking about the average Nigerian lady, Not a handful of them who has been exposed to othe countries and are well educated research on their background before posting. These ladies are Nigerian by birth only and thats all

What's the point canceling when you're still going to respond to the quote. Did you just prefer to read across the line? If you don't live in a village (could have fooled me) then your task is simplified: you can take a taxi from junction to junction, as you take your inventory. Unless you see the need to shock me further by stating that you own a car. Then I should preempt that move by saying: drive it then.

92%.......75%...........such inconsistency. Are you edging closer to the truth (if you know it), or just getting confused all over this page. You see, this is what happens when you open you don't respect facts.

I don't know if you think me for a broke guy that can't afford a car, ofrcourse I have my own car. so how is the Nigerian economy getting stronger because some ladies are selling stuffs in markets, neighborhoods, working in restaurants or some shitty jobs? are some self employed ladies paying taxes or what?
Ugh! Smh.

The point isn't that I believe you to be broke. The point is that you keep pointing out these needless details that have no bearing on the task to be carried out: take inventory of female entrepreneurs. It doesn't matter if your locality is above a village; or if you get around in a bus, a cab, or in your car. I thought I could preempt this needless detail by saying "drive it" earlier on; seems like your determined to distract yourself from the point: take inventory of female entrepreneurs, and see that it isn't merely ten out of 180million who are business owners.

Yes, women business owners pay taxes. It's a general requirement.

The point isn't that women dominate. The point is that there are women who have plans beyond six months which don't make marriage the centerpiece.

I didn't generalize my post, I said most women not all.
you justified why most Nigerian ladies make marriage their priority after getting a degree, so why are you going back on your words ?
You try small, you no fit do pass your power. I explained why most girls make marriage a priority. An explanation does not say that I support a view. It says that I understand it. A problem has to be understood before it can be solved. And then I said that: in order to change this mindset, more enlightenment and education is required. And while the person i quoted was advocating that women didn't need education (probably with a view to leave things as they are), I said that more enlightenment was required to have more women unlock their potential.

When making some allegations, leave yourself some room for redemption.

it seems you didn't comprehend that post. if you think many Nigerian ladies are working very hard, travel to South Africa if you see the number of female work force there you gonna be convinced that Nigerian ladies are doing nothing.
Then more education and enlightenment is required here. Not less.
