Churches have been Americanized. They have now become entertainment centers filled with unserious people. If you doubt me, tell your pastor to check the phones of everyone in Church this coming Sunday. You will likely see porn, BBNaija and all sorts of nonsense they shouldn'nt be in Church with.

It is all thanks to the American style of gospel and its feel good sermon. Ask yourself, when was the last time your pastor's bitter truth made you feel uncomfortable in Church? You can't remember. That is why ladies now bare their cleavages comfortably in Church and young guys sag too. It's all because the pastor has been tasked to deliver a certain target of money to the headquarters before he can be promoted to the post of senior pastor. If he becomes strict by dishing out the bitter truth, half of the congregation will migrate to a lenient Church, many of which are springing up today. This means the pastor wont be able to meet his target cos those that will donate money have been chased away by the truth of God.

Such a pastor will rather massage your ears with sweet lies of how you will build a mansion and have 12 cars in two months time, when it's a salary of 30k you earn. That is why you find tonnes of Christians staying up late at night to watch BBNaija show but can never read their Bible except when the business minded pastor tells them to open it in Church.

Ladies now care more about their curves than what they have in their head. Yet all these big pastors are not preaching against such. When was the last time Adeboye and Oyedepo preached bitterly about the high rate of immorality seen in Christian lives today? All they want to do is tell you about blessings and prosperity. Ladies now compete to be the one with the highest high hills in Church. They are always welcomed. But when they are seen in Church every time dressed like that, then it means the Church has become a really comfortable place for them. A true Church will be a place they won't want to return to. And if they do, it will mean their dress mode has changed for good.

About instrumentalist, how won't they be messed up the way they are? Imagine them playing small doctor's music while doing praise and worship. What about Davido, wizkid etc? Is God now so hungry for music that He now craves from the worldly scene? Well, it's all entertainment. Keep the people entertained so they can part with their money for us to build bigger branches of Bank/Church.

A true Christian revival is coming.

God bless you..

Good observation.

It's all in the ministers hand.

I can't be preaching and you're playing keyboard or drumming.

You will leave that seat

Nice observations , but most times alot of churches now employ people to play those instruments and they pay them for their services , most especially the advanced ones and local ones alike e.g talking drum , alot happen in churches we cannot even talk about , asides instrumentalist, its a turn by turn thing , hope other men of God pick other parts and even the ones that concerns their own class generally.

Very true... Those guys don't regard the presence of God
Re: Mike Bamiloye Exposes Church Instrumentalists by onatisi(m): 9:12am On Apr 01, 2018
this issue is two faced , one is that some of these instrumentalists are paid professionals and they only come to the church to play and leave , they can be said to be employed by the church , so when they are in the church they are simply disconnected with the spiritual aspect of that environment and are basically there for a job. it is like telling an electrician who goes to repair a brothel to be carried away by the unclothedness of women around him.
secondly , those instrumentalists who are church members still feel the same thing too, once they become instrumentalist , they feel different from the listening congregation and feel the major reason why they are in church is just to the instruments and leave.

another factor is age , when ppl are younger with no responsibilities , very few tend to be serious with spiritual matters , but when they grow older and start facing challenges then noone needs to correct anyone , they automatically change .

I actually wonder who even introduced hiring instrumentalists to come play in church. Can't there be an in house grooming/training for choir and instrumentalists? Tho some pastors usually fear that they’ll leave for another church to be paid after such investment in them. By and large, there’s need to incorporate them into the ministry so they won’t view it as a regular job

not totally true, I had an experience in NCCF AkwaIbom conference in 2013, two of the cameramen actually got moved very violently by the spirit, people saved the cameras before it fell to the ground, some people holding others not to fall actually fell.

I thought the word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than a double edged sword that pierces through everything. If you have such an instrumentalist is your problem not his or hers. Even at distraction, based on this, if there's a Word for such an individual, it should pierce. Shikena

.

the last line of your statement is not really relevant. Being successful is more about God's grace or alternatively a deal with the Devil can also bring prosperity, bad things happen to good people, and also good things happen to bad people. It is all about perspective.

No matter any thing, people love attending churches that plays good music.

And many times the music makes the word of God to enter . And i trust keyboardist they make the preaching more epic... But can you immagine why people cry when their pastor is preaching ? Because of music they make the preaching Epic and bring those nollywood sounds that will touch ur soul

the only problem is that we are too stingy to pay offering and thite

He made a few valid points. I'm a keybordist my self and I've gone on ministrations with pastors who want you to keep playing as they preach. It helps charge the atmosphere. So as for playing when message is going on it depends on the pastor. I will never forget in my life one day when message was going on and I began to play open our eyes lord,we want to see Jesus and pastor stopped preaching and service because a worship service. I was playing and crying.

Ehnnmm pastor Mike good observation
but it surely depends on the church and the pastor....... you only said what you wouldn't condole personally.
but sir some pastors like the instruments especially the keyboard going softly as a background back up while they are preaching
quote me anywhere Music is the only thing that makes people go to church mostly and a church without music won't grow yes I say so!!!!!
no matter all your preaching and teaching you can't exempt music and musicians
I'm a multi instrumentalist I've played in so many churches in Nigeria so I know how this works just say it's your personal opinion but think every other pastor will be the same and gives a Fvck bou that

You need to be deeply focussed and spiritually connected to what's going on for you to fall in those circumstances. During services, those people you mentioned are largely distracted and disconnected from whatever spiritual thing is goin on.

Pst. Mike Bamiloye observed that the Church Instrumentalists attitudes in the church have been universally agreed upon based on their various disposition.

See below his observations about them

Surprising that this is actually coming from a pastor. Why didnt he also mention the gatemen and security guards outside and those traffic guys who control the church car parks?

The fact is that being an instrumentalist in church is a sacrifice, and just like ushers who stand facing the other direction and cameramen and traffic controllers outside the building, the church worker gets to sacrifice the spiritual benefits he would have gained from being focused to ensure that the rest of the congregants get full benefits. There's no way the church workers can maintain full concentration. This is the reason why most churches have a separate short workers' service before the main service to ensure the workers aren't totally left out.
