I squarly agree with you to some extent. But in the case of Nigeria, Ifa is the solution and it has soft power. (and the most civilized to be honest. No one wakes you up every morning with noise or makes it Obligotory to visit the shrine every day). if only this self hunting ideologies (Islam east and Christianity west) can humble themselves and try to learn from the anterior cultures, invisible religions they have tried to supress.

They can help themselves by re-investigating in African invisible religions/cultures (Ifa) and using the ethical values within those cultures to suppress, marginalize the ethical values, to arbitrate even their (West/Christianity, Orthodox,Catholic even fighting each other) conflict with the eastern cultures (religion/Islam/Jihadist).

Just to summarize the basic virtue (No long story) to which I attribute to these numerous invisible African religions(Ifa)/Cultures.
