Hello e-fam, let me give the concluding story of my dramatic IELTS exam. My speaking was scheduled to hold 4:40pm today(Sunday) , I usually leave my phone at home when going for Sunday service but one spirit just told me to hold it along and put in silent mode. Around 11:10am, I saw two missed calls from one number(0706-822-7182) and truecaller showed it as British Council. I stepped out and called them, they picked one hand (it was quite surprisely cos the number attached to the email they sent me never went through at all) and informed me that my speaking has been shifted to 12noon.

I just left service immediately and went for the speaking test. I didn’t do quite bad in part 1....I flowed well but a couple of stutter in my part 2 and part 3 was okay.

To sum up, these people can reach candidate whenever they want but purposely put out a number on their website that never connects. May God help us.

My people, I greet y’all. I have kukuma written the IELTS exam today....just praying I max out and get additional 4 points to seat at 434 jejely till draw crash. All bookunu in the House, abeg me take eye look this question.

For Task 2 Essay of today. The question goes thus(can’t recollect word for word)

In societies, more and more people are moving to out to live alone.
What are the reasons for these?
Is it positive or negative trend?

Opinion Essay or Double Question Essay?

Thanks.

The question was "what DO YOU think are the reasons" ergo asking for your opinion but the next line is also a question,so I would say it was both.

Congrats on your bundle of joy grin

Quick question for you, did you mention/nurse asked for your EDD during medicals? If you gave that information, my guess is that CIC probably knew you were expecting a baby soon so they decided to wait for the delivery so you could add him on file and have everyone get their copr at once. I am sure ppr will come immediately you complete his addition.

To the house, did anyone get ppr ~3 weeks to EDD?

Thank you so much. I believe so o. I'll get on updating CIC and getting the documents needed this week. We hope and wait for good news. Thanks again.

That is to help avoid too much calls and disturbances o...imagine everyone calling their phone lines for every little issue. Wish you the best with the test.

this is so wrong. We as customers have a right to call them as we please. I missed my ielts exam in november as i had to leave lagos on an emergency. I called for 4 days to no avail. Blatant rubbish

I totally agree with the bolded. We PAID for this IELTS thingy and as such have the right to ask questions about it no matter how trivial. It is their responsibility to recruit and train customer service personnel to respond to such questions

I concur. The same way newbies here would have had the right to ask ANY questions no matter how simple or repeated if someone was paid too. There wouldn't have been any need to constantly refer them to the dreaded page 0. grin grin

A healthy competition from MOD IDP will make BC sit up soonest.... Just watch out.

Bros, I will agree to you but to some few extent. What happened to customer care? 64k no be beans oooo and they deliberately gave out nos that doesn’t connect? If a serious and urgent need to reach them nkon? Imagine a candidate that resides in Ekiti and needs to reach British Council. If you ask me, that’s arrant nonsense.

Thank God you didn't leave your phone at home. I had a similar experience in February.

I received my test details on the 27th of February by 1:58 pm. My speaking was scheduled for the same day by 1pm! I can't describe how I felt when I read that email. I rushed to the venue to check if the Examiner was still there. Thankfully, I got there by 2.45pm and met IELTS officials who claimed it was impossible for BC to make such mistake. After much argument, they let me take the speaking test 20mins later.

I completely forgot about Jay's PPF which I practiced for 3 weeks grin I ended up with a band 7 in speaking.

Nothing is impossible with BC

Lol at the bold..that’s how I forgot my part 2 strategy when I saw the examiner was the same person that conducted speaking for me last time and gave me 7.0, the funny part was that; she recognized me and ask if she had done speaking for me before. I feel IDP will make them seat up.

Lol, who NEWBIE pay here but I feel we can politely ans them and refer them to page zero because they stand to benefit a lot by reading themselves. I concur with your last paragraph 100%.

For mine, I scanned the hard copy, changed the resolution to 600 pixels and used the scanned copy for my e-APR (didn't resize).

I took the PPR size photo and collected the soft copy from the studio. But i am confused. The dimension of the soft copy i have is 591 x 827 but i can't reconcile the frame size and the physical dimension as per the instruction below

"Digital photo - The final frame size of the photo should be at least 35mm x 45mm. The photograph must show a full front view of the head and tops of shoulders. The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31mm and 36mm. The physical dimensions in pixels must be at least 420 x 540. The final size of the image should not be less than 60KB. The file should be submitted in JPEG format."

Should i reduce the dimension from 591 X 827 to 420 X 540? But if i do it will not give 35mm X 45 mm size. I'm confused. What is the best thing to do here?

So who does? Haven't been able to find any info on this online.

Also it seems listening and reading are graded by two different examiners? Cos I noticed the answer sheet had spaces for examiner one and two.

Please can you prove this?

What happens to the different columns they maintain in their recordings during the speaking?

Is it not logical to think that having someone else listen to the audio to award marks later will be unnecessary and a waste of man hour?

Can we say they are only paid to come and read out the questions to the candidates and be forming fake British accent?

At least 420 X 540 means not less than (minimum of) 420 x 540. This means you are good to go with 591 X 827.
