Jewel80:You gotta trust American beauracratic red tape. It’s always much ado about nothing, a lot of dust raising for small things. When they were suppose to be stopping the big Kahunas like Bin Laden, they were asleep on the wheels. Now they have sent an innocent little man back home for seeming inconsequential stuff that he is not responsible for. Yes they say him he can apply for a visa again in theory. But in practice if he applies, he most like would be denied based on that record of been sent back at port of entry. God help us! |

sheriff88:You can get an affidavit of declaration of marriage. I used that in lieu of my parents marriage certificate |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 3:30am On Apr 09, 2018 |
sheriff88:The documentation of your parent’s marriage is not an important factor in the visa application process. So an o ordinary declaration of marriage at any court should suffice. |

xrisla:It is better to go for a PHD but big problem is your grades of 2.2 is what I am reading from your quote. Switching to a masters as you seem to imply comes with complications, as the VO might deny you a visa, questioning your purpose of study because of a lack of progression. A student who has already earned a masters degree going for a second masters degree is one of the ways VOs use to determine who is a genuine student from who is simply using the student visa route as a means of facilitating entry to Canada. You might want to try to explain why a second masters is necessary, but that is Herculean task to succeed with. It is not impossible however. With a 2.2 it is almost impossible to get into a PHD program. Never seen it. The cards are stacked against you in every corner except your masters GPA is very strong, then there is hope. |

Jewel80:I have seen a handful of people rejected even after medicals was requested. But in majority of cases, 90 percent, people whose medicals were requested, sailed through—were approved TRV. |

It means there is no update yet after one month of application. I believed you applied online and you're updated monthly of the status of your application. sogima: |

xrisla:If you have up to 2 years work experience, apply for PR when you get your MSC through Express Entry . You have a good profile (age, bsc, MSc). All you will be needing is a good score in IELTS and you’re in Canada as a PR. Going for your PHD should be easier from there. |

My people sorry for the questions. Pls I have one more last slot to apply to one more school out of two..but am confused The first option is a school that doesn't require u securing a supervisor and could offer me an admission scholarship The second option is a school where I have secured a supervisor already but no scholarship or funding . Which do I pick? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 11:26am On Apr 09, 2018 |
Josh1996:Duh!!! The choice is an easy one. The one without securing a supervisor and can offer you admission and scholarship. |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Nobody: 1:00pm On Apr 09, 2018 |
Josh1996:Your options look straightforward but there are not. In the first option, you dont need to secure a supervisor and funding is assured if offer is made. In such school, to get admission is competitive and hard because they've many reasons not to give you offer: lack of fund, no supervisor to take you, low grade etc. I dont know your CGPA anyway. In the second option, no funding, but you've already secured a supervisor, which means that your admission is 50% assured unlike the first option. If you've a good result, go for the first option. |
