A Lady Not Earning At Least N150k A Month Shouldn’t Think About Marriage - Joro by Tessyama1(op): 7:29am On Apr 09, 2018
Relationship expert, Joro Olumofin has advised single ladies who don't earn at least N150k a month to forget about marriage for now.

He wrote on Instagram;

"If you’re a single lady and you’re not earning at least N150,000 a month you shouldn’t be thinking about marriage yet. This is for your own security & sanity in marriage. Based on hundreds of mails I receive daily from posters. I’ve noticed a trend in behavior : Commitment before finances. Most ladies go into marriage with the hopes that the man will take care of everything . Some even see marriage as their way out of responsibilities such as paying bills, etc. A lot of married women are unhappy in their homes but can’t leave because they are not independent, some don’t even have transport money to go back to their parents house. Secure the bag first"

Does anyone still takes this guy serious? He talks sometimes as thou he isn't living in Nigeria, or maybe he isn't aware of the realities on ground in the present day world.

He's not serious. So ladies should say no to suitors because they don't earn 150k?

He has a point cheesy
But stipulating a particular amount is not it.
Our wants and needs are different smiley
A lady may be earning 20k and she is comfortable and independent and another who may be earning 50k may not. huh

I totally agree. Her income doesn't necessarily have to be up to 150k but she should be financially independent to an extent. Over 70% of women wailing on social media about their miserable marriages are ones who can't leave because they can't survive on their own. Going into a marriage with the hopes of becoming a man's responsibility is the biggest mistake any woman can make

I totally endorse this post by Joro although it has a clause, there are women that are independent and hardworking but do not have up to 150k.

Being independent as a lady is the best smiley .
Re: A Lady Not Earning At Least N150k A Month Shouldn’t Think About Marriage - Joro by MhizzAJ(f): 8:33am On Apr 09, 2018
I think he's right on this one

Moreover it's good to be independent as a lady that way you don't have to put your problems entirely on one man

Finances should come before commitment
One has to consider it before going into a relationship

Joro talks thrash sometimes....

The woman is not suppose to be the bread winner of the family... Provided she's not idle and she doing something to contribute her own little quota to the family ...it's awk...

He doesn't have to put a price tag to it...

P.s we're in Naija.. Most men hardly earn half to that amount not to talk of women...
Re: A Lady Not Earning At Least N150k A Month Shouldn’t Think About Marriage - Joro by tunjilana: 9:14am On Apr 09, 2018
He shouldn't put a price tag. My own view for every female around me including those of my household and daughters I have and will have are

---Whatever lifestyle you aspire to live in marriage, work towards being able to afford that lifestyle. When your work has taken you to a point where you can comfortably and sustainably (except life happens) afford close to 60% of that lifestyle, then seek/listen to men who are on the same page with you.

---Don't sit lazy and believe some prince charming will appear from nowhere and make all your dreams come true, it is mutual effort and that way you will have no reason to be bitter or sad. If you both don't hit it, it will be clear you both worked hard to get there and you will likely land in a relatively good place.

This is exactly how to raise a girl child.

No that in marriage, you wish to you wish to travel round the world on vacation, have top-notch healthcare for your kids, wear nice things, feed very well, live in upscale neighborhood and all your aspiration ends at being a school teacher on 30k salary!, when they send you to school your mates are actively hustling 2.1 or firstclass, acquiring skills, trying out businesses but you sit lazy cos the host of heaven have promised you a tears-cleaner husband. You will be dissapointed

If it is beauty, you are not the only beautiful one, if it is bobby or arse, no be only you, good character sef no be only you. And for those kinda guys you have your eyes on, their options are not in any way limited, so there are women with all those physical things you have plus brain, sense of responsibility for ones life and hardwork and the man will pick those before you, If such a man in his delusion of error in judgement mistakingly picks you and you continue with that same mentality, it is only a matter of time before he realizes his mistake then the cheating and resentment starts, he might end up throwing you out for someone who is on same page with him...

Women be wise, fathers & brothers educate the women in your lives

I second this. A friend of mine earns about N30k; gets people to foot some bills for her; guys buy her food all the time; etc. One day she needed about 6 k to pay all the people she was owing. Her friend from Lagos gave her 10k; the next day, 5k had already disapeeared (3 k for tithe).
