Oga pjay weldone sir. Oga tenderlaw made mention of getting tired as a LT-COMMANDER. My question is that is it that there is discrimination against Dssc officers or the work is really that strenous or might it be due to missing of promotions.

Sometimes you just look out of the window and see what your former classmates are achieving outside. Then you suddenly realise your university certificate may have fetched you more out there. Then comes the resentment and grumbling. At that point, only those with genuine love for the job will remain. Those with godfathers that smuggled them in will turn about and go home. I can confidently tell you that even Lieutenants and sublieutenants are leaving the job.

Generally it's a good job, but your love will be tested. Only true love will last for long.

Very apt sir. Even regular officers feel this way when they see their mates outside doing way better. I know a sqd ldr, Regular Officer, drown pilot, he got tired and left the job; to mention a few. You have to love the job and be happy to resume everyday to last. Those who just applied and got in cause they were looking for job, it is about turn you will do last last after Lt. Now that every rank is even 5 years and Lt Cdr is 6 years. You go tire.

There are female R. Admirals (2 star generals) in the Nigerian Navy Officer cadre and they can’t go past that rank cause they’re DRC Officers. The first set of regular female officers are still SLt. Zero restrictions by the books.

RAdm is the highest rank for everybody, not just DSSC (DRC) people. The only person who passes that rank to Vice Admiral is the CNS.

Lol.

I remember reading older comments on this thread, where guys were speculating that their wait was probably due to the delayed budget release too.

Before them know, list knack them for face.

I believe this job is lucrative and it pays considering those who said you would easily get tired of it,I believe it all depends on the department you are those who dont make contact to the sea or who at rear occasions do are those who actually see the job as frustrating, you can't compare me an hydrographer to a fellow naval officer who is a teacher in a naval school, I know of a guy who works at naval HQ abj in the Acc Dept he is doing very great.
So it all depends in the department you applied to.
