Romeo3:Lalasticlala Seun. Are moderators now experimenting with the ban button? Because no private pictures that depics any person were posted here. Please put a leash on your moderators, they are starting to lose it. |

claremont:I totally agree, Romeo is a cool dude and inspirational to an extent, but he fails to take the privacy concerns seriously which is bad business practice, i know the mods sometimes can be overzealous and annoying here but on this i think Romeo3 is at fault, Romeo3 goodluck to you wherever you are tho! |

Romeo3:I don't know u, from adam. Came across ur moniker, thru someone I follow. But, u've given me so much laughs n fun, I can't but, butt in. I've enjoyed ur diary, quite refreshing, from all these fiction available. Don't forget ur beginnings. NL gave u a platform n an audience. I've directed several pple, who don't care abt nl, to ur thread n d other uber thread. Just chill, maintain ur following here(over a 100k visitors daily, only God knows, how many are unique n first timers). Make posts once in a while n redirect pple to ur other pages, for more contents. We all know that, u take care of d pple u meet going up, cos u might need them, not necessarily, only when coming down. The MOD might just be a hater, not representing nl ethos. Don't take it out on nl. And to that MOD, pple post pics of various incidence, with full facial views: accidents, graphic deaths, accused molesters(not convicted yet o), arrests, fights, celebrities in awkward situations n all that, u no ban them too? Stop being a f. hypocrite joor. Let them sue Romeo first, then u can always pop champagne to his legal troubles! U can even, create a thread, on front-page to chronicle those legal troubles, sef(with pics or we don't....... ).My 2kobo. Ciao |

Since they refuse to close the thread why don't you guys stop commenting on it? The topic is not even in the Top 200 in travel section as your views is less than 35,000. My post hit over 80,000 views in less than a month and I am not killing anyone for closing it since no one owes me anything on Nairaland. It is never personal, get your views out and move on with it. Stop playing the victim card nobody cares. The minute you stop commenting on it the thread will die naturally, or probably you secretly wish the thread could get more views |

JeffreyJames:have you really been reading people's comments about the privacy? no one hates the stories posted, what people are saying is "the pictures are not necessary" we have been enjoying the stories without pictures. I know people so well I don't need to see their faces before i can recognise them, you might not be able to recognise but others do so therefore, it's not right. |

This is my 4th moniker, I deleted the previous 3 ..... been here since beginning and I have seen it all !! Sorry and move on cuz you are a force here and I learnt great deal from your posts !! |

He who the gods want to punish, they first make deaf. Really, Romeo, I'll like you to calm down and take a second look at the comments of those who have been telling you to stop posting pictures of your clients and also those who told you the ban and removal of pictures were necessary. No one is jealous, as some people have been saying. I have been reading your stories and I enjoyed them but I didn't feel okay with the pictures. I don't think they are right. You come across as intelligent. Won't you rather take the advice of people who have intelligently, without insults, told you why you should not put up pictures of your clients over the advice of people who can't get their opinions across without insulting others and labeling them haters? I think you need to see things from other people's perspectives. You are NOT all knowing and when a lot of people say the same things consistently, you need to take time to see if there are truths in it. At the end though, it's your call. |

| Re: Diary Of An Uber Driver (interactive) by pomide(m): 8:54pm On Apr 09, 2018 |
Baba, just take the ban with a light heart, forget about it, stop posting customers pictures (I noticed you had stopped already), it really doesn't take anything out of your awesome story, keep writing and driving, post your write ups in places your readers are used to, and as well other places you can get more potential Readers and earn money doing so.. (ban is nothing really, not like they broke your side mirror. Have a good chilled beer after work, probably have sex to relax, wake up the next morning with a happy heart with no worries..) We all have that manly Ego not to lay back without a fight... It's a normal thingy.. |

tolusan:Bunch of codswallop like this actually buttresses the point that the average IQ of Nigerians is way too low. How could you say that the lady with a torn shirt would feel offended if she found out? How could that be when there are no traces whatsoever? Only the torn part of the dress was captured. Could that lady say in law, establish a case of defamation if she were to pursue one? My counsel to Romeo3 is to ignore the dimwits here. Whether vel non you decide to continue posting here is left for you. Respecting the ban, Nairaland has been known to be biased from inception. At times, their rules are bunkum. For instance, what is the rationale for having a restriction on Muslim threads whereas none exists for Christian yet the owner claims to be an atheist? |

timesup234:This dimwit that has never been to MM Airport will be everywhere giving opinions. Of what relevance are your 8 billion views here. It's akin to losing 3 kids to doctor's negligence and then telling another to forget beacuse he only lost a kid. |

Peromnia:I will not bother about the snide remarks. I like to focus on the issues. So, if I get you clearly, a person who photographs, for instance, the torn zipper of the attire I'm wearing, which tends to demean or embarass me and posts same on social nedia without my knowledge has not violated my right to privacy? If this romeo's case doesn't qualify as violation of privacy rights, I wonder what would. This is so simple that you'll need some help (or some very high IQ) to miss it. The photo which I suppose led to the ban captured a portion of the lady rider's bum, and you say she'll be happy if she found out that a cab driver whom she paid, took photos of such sensitive body parts and posted same online without her consent? You say such crass violation is not actionable in law, either as a tort or in an action for enforcement of Section 37 of the Constitution? Btw, it is not defamation. Defamation refers to spoken or written words/publication. Say for instance, I take a man's photo when he's sleeping with his mouth agape and it lands on a forum like this without his consent. Do you honestly think that he'd not express some dissatisfaction if same was brought to his attention. In fact, in other climes, "it is an offence for a person to knowingly photograph, or cause to be photographed an individual, when the individual has a reasonable expectation of privacy, without the prior effective consent of the individual, if the photograph would offend or embarrass an ordinary person if such person appeared in the photograph. " It is irrelevant that the full picture of the person is not taken. At the very most, this factor would go to quantum of damages recoverable. However, if you still hold your views, you're perfectly within your rights and I'll respect them. @the bolded. Let's keep the conversation decent, insulting language or condescending remarks don't improve arguments, it rather destroys meaningful engagement. Cheers. |
