MitrikDenholm:How many 38 year olds were shooting at 42% and averaging 5 assists a game. 38 year old Jordan was better than 85% of the league You're obtuse and malnourished. I have not come across such a mentally challenged cretin like you before MitrikDenholm:Are you seriously comparing a 30 year old to a 38 year old? You must be a pathetic sodomite! You're a disgusting swine without honor a code or scruples. Worthy missed just Game 5. When the series was done and dusted with the Bulls 3-1 up yet this shameless gibbon phoolishly claimed Worthy did not play? A player recorded 80% appearance and you say he did not play. Warapa grip you there you lying mofo! MitrikDenholm:The GOAT effectively ended a back to back Championship team that was pushing to be a dynasty. When people are talking about dynasties they would mention the Showtime Lakers Kobe and Shaq, The Spurs, the double 3peat Bulls. No one is ever going to mention the Pistons for one reason. The GOAT!! |

Roland17:If that's his argument and not his stats or his team's standings or best record since January, then Ben Simmons is winning it... |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 4:53pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
Decale:We also lost to them last season just before the playoffs. When Curry is out, we use D to win. But what I saw yesterday was a bunch of players not interested in playing or getting hurt. Whether Jazz would have beat us if we wanted it, nobody knows. It is clear we tanked that game. As per Kerr, still a great coach. I would judge him only after the Playoffs. Some "geniuses" who beat Raptors without starters lost to the same Raptors (by 20+ points) earlier on with the starters. Basket ball dey like that. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 7:04pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
Season has basically ended and i'm hearing Bron should be MVP cos he's almost averaging TD in his 15th yr, Russ should also be MVP cos he'll average another triple double which has never been done before. I'm like these stats guys and blog boys done start again. Shannon Sharpe came out today to strongly say Russ is a non repentant stat-padder though the same guy said Lebron doesn't hunt stats. Typical LeMinion double standard in action. Melo, also said it clearly in an interview today that Russ steals rebounds and sometimes they let him get it so he can lead the fast break. Lol.. When Russ was asked about stat padding, he said if you don't want the rebounds, i'll take it. (Like guy!! we see you fighting your teammates for it). I imagine Lebron making this comments. We would rip him for it but Russ does it, it's automatic MVP and is one his way to average another TD. If he does average another TD, they must give him that MVP ooo or Lebron since those two have something in common.. Since it's a stats driven league now, if Westbrook averages a triple double this season, they better give him the MVP. Cos we've been glorifying stat padders all along. In case the media and other divert the narrative and give the wrong person this MVP thing, (We know who the real MVP was last season and this season only further exposed the stat chasers). |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 7:11pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
SmooshCHN:I told you we will steal that MVP award. You just wait and see. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 9:07pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
Roland17:An athlete playing his FIRST SEASON as a member of a professional sports team English can be reconstructed anyhow... What is Ben Simmons' first season as an NBA player? Which season did he first play? Is this his second season? Which season does NBA recognise Simmons' professional career? It's clearly on their official site: ROOKIE If Mitchell had a fractured foot in his draft year and put up his stats the following season, he won't be wearing shade outfits. Flip these players and we'll still get the same reaction. Like I said if Mitchell wants to argue his ROY case with a definition the whole NBA organization and more don't agree on, he's not helping his case. At all, at all... |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 9:27pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
SmooshCHN:The real MVP last season was Kawhi, no be this Harden you people won't let us rest. He's both offensive and defensive top 5 and got his team (60+ wins) with farmers and pensioners to NBA finals . 3 of them deserve it and I was glad Westbrook did get it Westbrook's triple double season is clearly different from this season. This season, he had all the help he ever wanted and a rejuvenated Steve Adams. Their ceiling should be 60 wins at the least. Harden on the other hand got his help, reached his ceiling (65+) and he's playing the best ball in his career. He's the most lethal guy in ISO and most offensive. Even his historic games have been triple doubles, so let's act as we don't see it. If anybody is using LeBron's triple double as a point, it's because he's the only one close to Harden for the chase. So, there's bound to be some reasons to help push his case. Sadly, his team won't give him the award. AD is in the 3rd position cos he's doing something similar to what Westbrook did last season but his standings can't help him especially if he doesn't have a record to his name. Curry shoulda been the guy that would chase Harden for the MVP but we know how that turned out... The whole MVP discussion will be different if Westbrook had 60+ wins and the triple double, Curry and Kawhi were healthy and Cavs were 1st in the east. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 9:30pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
Decale:You see, you guys are making subjective definitions and inferences from the definition of a rookie. So what was Ben Simmons last season? In truth, Ben is a red shirt player and this is why I like the NCAA. They understood there was a clear difference and that is why you have "Red shirt freshmen and True freshmen". The definition and the flexibility of the NBA to accommodate these does not justify the fact that it is illogical. Was Ben a member of the Sixers last season? Did he sign a rookie contract with a professional team despite being injured? was the organization building its roster around Ben despite the fact that he was injured? When Embiid was talking about "trusting the process", did you think he was speaking about himself alone or he had seen what Ben was bringing? Ben was exposed to the running of the team, practice, travels, films of opponents, improved his strength and conditioning with a professional team. I don't want to beat this but it is clear the NBA prefers its definition over what a rookie truly is. My argument here is the fact that there is a tangible/ intangible advantage Ben enjoyed last season that has made adapting to the league easier for him. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 10:57pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
Roland17:If they do give these college students freshmen of the year awards, I'm sure the redshirt freshmen will be eligible. And isn't that redshirt word coined mostly for extra year playtime for HEALTHY athletes. Even the NCAA try eliminate the medical redshirt (injured students) Simmons signed a contract, yes. When did he PLAY his first game? Building a team around someone can be done to your "true rookies" e.g. Lonzo. That argument no follow. When Embiid was talking about process, he included Fultz too, a rookie that PLAYED in his first season. Ben was exposed to this and that. So did other "true rookies" in their tryouts, camps and preseason. Most of these injured drafted players (at least 90%) never use the tangible advantage you so claim when they get healthy. Why should that advantage be used for Ben Simmons cos he's good? Doesn't that make that advantage you so claim meaningless? The truth of the matter and fact still remains that: 1) Ben Simmons is a rookie regardless of his draft class. He's playing for the first time. If you like, call am redshirt, he's still a freshman. 2) If Mitchell was in Simmons position, he'd bring heaven and earth down to make his case for ROY. If Mitchell wants to argue this thing further, he's on a losing turf. No way in hell will the NBA or any organization for that matter not include players especially injured ones with career ending injuries a chance at ROY. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 12:02am On Apr 12, 2018 |
Decale:If that is the case, why are experienced foreign players like 30-year-old Milos Teodosic (Clippers) termed "Rookies"? Afterall "An athlete playing his FIRST SEASON as a member of a professional sports team" is the definition of a rookie. Is it logical based on the definition of the term rookies? Teodosic and other experienced foreign players have earned thousands and sometimes millions playing "PROFESSIONAL" basketball. Please don't even try to excuse the NBA in this instance because I am going strictly by the definition of the term rookie which you highlighted. Again, by next year, Ben Simmons will be eligible for an extension on his current rookie contract, so does that mean the league agrees he is not a rookie but for technicalities should be termed a rookie in his sophomore year? Again, what was Ben Simmons last year? Just to remind you, Fultz was drafted this season not the previous season like Simmons and the Sixers traded up with my Celtics to get him. Consequently, they were not planning any roster around him. Trust the process was with Embiid and progressed after Embiid saw what Ben was doing in practice. As far as I know, establishing the difference between the red shirt and a true freshman was important as it provides clarity for the NCAA. For me, this is not an argument for or against Mitchell or Ben winning the award. It is the lack of clarity and ambiguity in the definition of a rookie in the NBA and how illogical it is. |

Cavs finish the season with an identical record without Kyrie and with love and IT out a good chunk of the season. We have the best player in the game. Cavs make history by becoming the first team to go a whole season unbeaten when carrying a third quarter lead (39-0). We have the best closer in the game. Leads every plausible MVP candidate in all stat categories. This is a 33 year old man in year 15. Give this man his MVP Goddammit!

|
| Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 6:02am On Apr 12, 2018 |
Roland17:I just remembered Arvydas Sabonis, that guy nearly took ROY from Damon after playing years in Serbian league Okay, I admit the ambiguity seems unfair especially to those foreign players and NBA can do something about it. But I'm not making arguments for Teodosic or the foreign players but for Simmons who hasn't played for any professional sports team, EVER!!!! even if his rookie contract starts 1989. Ben Simmons fits the same definition as Mitchell, having the same exposure; with Mitchell getting the offensive play built more around him. So, how did Simmons sitting out a year with a career ending injury an advantage for his case? These 2 have *played 82 games* in their professional careers, no one played more. This table you're shaking has plenty awards on it: Sixth Man (where they sometimes start), MVP (the definition isn't used), DPOY and All NBA team. If NBA listened to Mitchell about ruling out players recovering from injuries, they better listen to us with these other awards they dash out. |
