This is to all old Uber and Taxify drivers in the House. I hail all of you o. Trust all is doing well and I hope you all are gauging your progress as you all go about your daily bread. This hustle or hustling shouldn't just be about daily bread tho' that is the purpose of this msg. pls go learn other good skills if you don't have one already. I am certain, non of the drivers that started Uber/Taxify 2years ago cannot afford a plot of land in ibafo as we speak. But a plumber/ electrician/ mechanics that knows his job and hardworking can conveniently do. Not to discourage any one but admonition. There is no future in driving Uber. Uber as a coy is just using u to build their future while you keep sustaining till you are unable to drive anymore. The health hazard is more on driver's side than two other parties. ( Uber and riders). Guys think your life and use your head. A word is enough. Thanks!

talking about being a boss, someone on this thread claimed to have been emancipated from the bonds of rental, and had bought his own vehicle, I was happy for the individual, and decided to donate 21,000 worth of synthetic engine oil to celebrate with him.
Up till today I am yet to hear from him.

Please if you are the one, kindly disregard my offer, I will hold on to my goods.

That mood has left the building, focusing on business.

New vehicles arriving tomorrow, they need to be road worthy before monday.

Don't dare it unless you'll be driving your own car. Note that all those high earnings you see posted occasionally is an exception for a small fraction of drivers with highly efficient positioning and fuel consumption. The tales of woes are far greater than the glories. I carried out a study today(supposedly peak day and hours) from Freedom Way to Admiralty and if you see the number of Uber and taxify drivers hanging around the whole place with frustration on many faces. Same at Ikeja GRA.

Like someone rightly said, Uber is not a long term job, Uber is just marking time with drivers, as they use our sweat to fund their cars with AI research. If not for the recent fatal accident involved an Uber AI car, by now the US operation may have wound down. I see them exiting Nigeria if Taxify gives them too much completion like Didi did to them inChina. That exodus will equally be fastracked if the ongoing drivers agitations gains the right traction.
So u see uber exiting Nigeria soon... my brother in the mist of chaous there is always an opportunity... just because you are not making money does not mean others will not make money..whatever you do in life always work smart regardless if it is uber or not.... People that make money will make money bro. I am Base in the USA and let me tell you something bro
Uber has put a lot of food on a lot of people table... don't come out here and say B.S. uber is here to stay wheather you like it or not... imagine if uber exit Nigeria now , do you how many people will be jobless?.. Like it or not uber is doing what the government should be doing, which is employment... I have fleets of cars on the platform, so am more than qualified to tell you that u are smoking something..

Now I will agree with you that uber is not something you do for long time... it is a good job that u can do part time or while you wait for a dream job, cause half bread is better than none...
People to need hustle and nothing is free in life except for death and taxes ... just like any job you do in life u want to excel and move forward in life ... nobody in my humble opinion should do the same job forever. People should be inspired to move up the ladder and progress.. If you are cashier at a bank, you should inspire to beome a manager or grow... if you work under some body for years, you should inspire to open up your own business and if u are uber driver , u should aim to be able to drive your own car .. And from their you should able to employe people so on and so fourth bro. Nothing is free bro, this is what separates the poor from the rich. Mind set

Exactly I have my mobile app. This has never happened b4 even on a public holiday I usually get alert via sms or email or thru the app.im surprised even tho she sent screenshot thru WhatsApp.

I had such experience last week on a different biz transaction. Someone sent me 5,200 but didn't reflect. I call my bank GT to enquire on the said fund cos the sender sent me his first bank transaction log showing the fund was sent and a recorded call between him and first bank customer care. I narrated this to the customer care agent and he tried a quick look up only to find out that truely the fund was sent but it couldn't reflect cos they wer waiting for first banks authorization.
So, try putting a call to ur bank and find out if a fund like that is hanging on that particular day.

No be every Oga for Chevron get mansion and no be every security for chevron be tenants.

Keep doing everything your hands find doing, you never can tell which will open a bigger door of success. A banker(cashier) resigned to open his bet naija agent shop and now he earns better than being in the banking sector.
Make them keep their advice to themselves. Just because @carshopper keeps importing rides like no man bizness doesn't mean that he's better (or earns more) than a fellow with a single car.

Make them.carry their negativities outta here jor

The true fact is that the uber business does not pay as expected anymore. One is only getting loose change compared to the investment that one made. Uber drivers are becoming smarter everyday by asking passengers where there are going on telephone and requesting offline trips, there is only an extent that Uber can put one under slavery.

I am still awaiting the new tactics that Uber drivers would be using to make more money.

SN: The uber guys are also reading this platform.

Googlemap is the easiest thing to use, even drivers without formal education uses it. Just a 10mins play around with Google Map on your phone and your good to go. Just type anywhere you are going to and off, you are good
