hi friends... my project have been giving me tough time. the topic is " consumer's perception of branding and packaging on product's sales ( a case study of Aqua Rapha investment Nigeria). now to summarise my statement of problem, it goes thus " some people are of the view that branding and packaging will constitute problems in the society while some don't. moreover, there are many similar products from other producers that give the same satisfaction, so the need to give each and every product its own identity". now after all these, my project supervisor is still asking. what then is the problem, what then is the gap to be filled. sweethearts, I haven't written a project b4 and I don't have money to hire someone to write for me... you guys should please help me o... those of you that have written project b4, plss help

Your supervisor is right. The problem you are trying to solve must be clearly evident in your problem statement.

Your statement must show clearly why you need to study the effect of consumer perception of branding and packaging on sales.

A problem statement is not suppose to include a possible answer because that will mean there's no reason to carry out a research

it works exceptionally well in product categories where there are no noticeable difference in the products offered . I.e. in service industry like the telecommunications industry

You raised two contrasting views in your problem statement, without actually identify any problem area

I will advise you try to frame this problem statement into research questions first to make sense of it


An example of a research question could be

What is the perception of consumers or general population of aqua packaging?

This is the information that is not available and a problem area worth researching
