Deadlytruth:

Mistakes are of two categories:
1. The type made our of being sincerely ignorant of the circumstances.
2. The type made deliberately despite being aware of the circumstances.

Azikiwe made type 2 because it was while Southerners were being slaughtered in the North that he kept calling for one-Nigeria. A people who kept preaching unity right in the face of bloodshed have no moral authority to blame those whom they now perceive as being ready to kill to ensure the unity is sustained.
why do you exonerate the north and southwest of their own mistakes?
Its because they are not response-able and therefore CAN'T BE HELD RESPONSIBLE?

If you make an Igbo man God and he's speaking Igbo on judgement day, other Igbos would complain that he is Wawa not speaking their dialect.

Igbos in Mbaise fought with the Pope. This is because the Pope selected someone from outside Mbaise to be the Bishop of Achiara diocese in Mbaise. They said that the Pope was marginalising them and persecuting them.

Igbos in Ipob fought with Jesus Christ. They said since Jesus Christ is the Lord of all those marginalising and persecuting them, they'll boycott Jesus and start praying directly to Chukwu Okike Abiama (the God of all Creation).

If Igbos can insult the Pope and keep malice with Jesus Christ, you all would realise that they should just lock down the entire Igboland and conduct mental tests on all of them.

But despite these flaws Nigeria is ready to sacrifice everything, including killing 3 million of the Igbos so as to force themselves on the Igbos.
Why? Is it not madness on your part?

you must have heard that hypocrisy is nigerian.
Awolowo said that Nigeria is a mere geographic expression.
But when he had the priceless opportunity to correct the mistake.
What did the politician do.
The former premier of western region was content to be an ordinary finance minister.
I am irrevocably on the side of ONE NIGERIA.
ANTHONY ENAHORO AND AWOLOWO FOUGHT HARD TO KEEP THIS NONSENSE GOING.
Your name should be deadly lies not truth because SELECTIVE TRUTH IS MISCHIEVOUS

The first bolded actually exposes you as guilty of the mischievousness you accuse me of. Awolowo's demand for secession was in the form of a constitutionally backed law which would make such process easy and totally devoid of bloodshed. It is therefore highly dishonest and mischievous of you to classify a violent and bloodshed bound approach as a priceless opportunity for him despite such approach would have cost him the blood of those who elected him to lead them. Are you sure you know what pricelessness means in all its ramifications?

As per the second bolded, you are again guilty of the selectiveness you allude to here as you chose to tell only the aspect of Enahoro story that would help your narrative.
Enahoro actually fought to create a law that would forestall the glaring possibility of Nigeria becoming a shithole as, according to him, his secession clause proposal was primarily targeted at instilling in all our future leaders the fear of the consequences of misgovernance. Had Zik allowed him and Awolowo have their way, Nigeria would definitely not have been this misgoverned. However, you mistake Ebahoro's later struggle to ensure his people's safety for a struggle to keep Nigeria going when what he foresaw came calling courtesy of Azikiwe's earlier indiscretion and naivete.
Would you have expected him to endanger us his people just in order not be perceived as struggling to keep Nigeria going? Under war any action taken to survive is justified.
So I remain the Deadliest truth.

Politicians are expected to serve 4 or 8yrs in office, If a politician get sacked before the end of his/her tenure, then you know there is problem. This is exactly what is happening to the biggest body that represents ibo tribe.
Your elders are not happy with themselves hence the headline says: Ohanaeze crisis.

Nwodo is becoming anti Igbo that is why he must be sacked nothing more, nothing less. When Oyegun and Tinubu were quarrelling up and down in a Yoruba owned party ( APC ), nobody said the Yorubas are disunited but, they are always quick to jump into Igbo matter to talk rubbish.

Well, for the bolded, I obviously don't agree with you on what enlightenment means.

But as to the exoneration of the North and SW of their own mistakes, I don't even see how the North made mistakes as far as the mistake we are talking about here is the act of not facing reality.

Ahmadu Bello and indeed every Northern politician were the first people to describe Nigeria as "The mistake of 1914" as far back as at least 16 years before independence. At the same time too they called Nigeria a British unworkable experiment which it really was, still is and likely going to remain as. To that effect they demanded de-amalganation and asked the South to leave them alone and form their own country. So with the events that later unfolded I am at loss as to how they made any mistake.

The West made up of today SW and Edo/Delta made the mistake of joining the East to discourage the Northerners but however put in a proposal to buffer against the possible Northern domination and misgovernance by any tribe that may rise to power.

But the East was acting purely on excitement and baseless optimism.

In reacting to this, I want to say that those of you talking about Nnamdi KANU and Biafra don't understand what is going on.

This is all about 2019 election. While Nwodo is hobnobbing with Atiku and other opposition politicians, the Youth wing is advocating for caution to avoid the mistakes of 2015.Read the statement of the Youth and see where they made reference to Buhari.
Also,Nwodo has been accused of running a one man show, making Ohanaeze look like an opposition party issuing statements on virtually everything that happens in the country.

In the midst of all these are Igbo politicians with cash and influence from both the ruling party and opposition muddling everything up.

Ohanaeze is now up for the highest bidder

Let's wait and see

ZIK WAS WARY OF AWOLOWO BUT OJUKWU BEING A SOLDIER WAS EASILY DECEIVED BY AWOLOWO.

Here are the justified reasons why the West and Midwest did not accept Ojukwu's secession proposal:
1. In the build up to the war the Eastern Region had a standing army and a commander to whom all the Eastern troops were loyal. But the leader of the Western Region was a very bloody civilian who wasn't in command of any standing army.

2. The Northern soldiers deployed to the Western Region by the governing NPC-NCNC coalition of Azikiwe and Balewa, and later reinforced by the NNA coalition were still heavily present in the whole of the region.

3. The leader of the Western Region was still too freshly out of prison to be able to within that short time rally round the Yoruba members of the Nigerian Army and convince them to fight against the centre.

4. The Edo/Deltans who had just become the Midwest were still nursing the psychological injuries they sustained from their successful attempt to pull out of the Western Region, and in addition had virtually no members in the army compared with each of the other three regions. This made them most defenseless thus most vulnerable to casualty in any war situation against the federal might.

5. The worst of all was that the leaders of the West and Midwest saw Azikiwe, their enemy who colluded with the North to jail them, calling the shots in the Biafra project with Ojukwu's approval.
How on earth could Awolowo and Enahoro have been convinced that Ojukwu was sincere in his offer of secession to them when he had allowed Azikiwe the chief antagonist to all secession clause movements in the past to be calling the shots in the secession project and even composing the Biafra national anthem? Please put yourself in their shoes and see if you'll take Ojukwu seriously.
The theory that Azikiwe was always wary of Yorubas does not cut it. He worked hand in hand with Akintola and later sought the UPGA alliance between his NCNC and the Awolowo faction of AG, and he (Azikiwe) ended up dumping them for the NNA in the end.
He even sent Michael Okpara to Ibadan to go and mend fences with Awolowo's wife on behalf of her incarcerated husband. So I don't agree with the wariness theory.

How can a youth wing sack the leadership of the adult wing?

Is that what their constitution provides?

Does the Aka Ikenga has no input in all these?

Summarily, it boils down to stomach matters.

The north in collaboration with the British made us play into their hands by rejecting independence while the British keep blackmailing azikiwe for his shady deal with ACB and armadu bello smartly demanding 50percent majority in the federal house while the eastern and western regions share 25percent each.
Awolowo REFUSED BUT AZIKIWE ACCEPTED
probably because he believed that the main power lies in the regional level.
But the British HAD A PLAN.
Do you know that the British REFUSED TO GRANT THE SOUTH INDEPENDENCE WITHOUT THE NORTH.
That's why they have to blackmail the south for independence.

Awolowo and Enahoro never changed their minds against a peaceful and bloodless secession which could have only been guaranteed by a constitutional provision for pro-secession referendum.
And that was the major reason Ojukwu's approach did not appeal to them.
Even Zik himself would later in a 1975 interview declare Ojukwu's secession attempt as illegal on account of the absence of any constitutional provision for it through his efforts in the 1954 constitutional conference where he, according to himself in the interview, was the one who demanded help from the British Lords to threaten Awolowo into abandoning his push for secession provision. I can furnish you with the interview if you won't mind. So the British did not force or blackmail Azikiwe as you claim. Azikiwe on his own will sought British help to keep the contraption alive.

Well, I am not an Obasanjo kinsman. I am actually from Edo State and most Igbos here know that. However, you will recall that the same Obasanjo was given bloc votes by Igbos in 1999 despite the PDP actually dubiously substituted him for Ekweme who was actually most qualified for the ticket based on the laid down criteria by the party's National Committee.
Then, despite how you've discredited Zik here, majority of Igbos actually celebrate him as hero. So how do we reconcile all these?
