Pls, the elders in the house, I need your input once more, my work issued a letter, but they didn't include my middle name, (I don't know why it was omitted) but can I still use it or request for another one?

Hello house,

Thanks to everyone that have provided valuable information on this thread and also the part1 and 2. You are all appreciated.
I have a question and it doesn't seem to have been addressed before after checking through the threads, Kindly help.
For a Nigerian registered nurse also with a post basic qualification in midwifery what level of education should he/she pick on the CRS calculator, is it the two or more certificate, diploma etc or the two or more years at a college, university etc.
Kindly assist because to know the eligibility before committing both time and money to this venture.
Expecting your responses.
Thank you all in anticipation.

Your Canadian equivalency will be determined by your qualifications and the evaluating body you decided to use.
Search through all parts of this thread for nurses with the same qualifications as you, go through their posts and you'd find answers.

I did this before and when i found out that you "might" not get a refund if you are seen to live in canada, i changed the address and immediately made the request.
victory2017:

Please if someone in Nigeria used a Canada address for sending the hard copy of evaluation. Can the person still eligible to claim tax refund? This is my case though, Thk you.

COPIED

I have explained this before but let me take time and talk about it again.

If u are a nurse with RN, RM, and any other post basic PLS use IQAS ur point grid will be 22 after d evaluation

If u are a nurse with RN RM any other post basic with BNSC please if u want use IQAS to evaluate d RN RM + d post basic and leave BNSc out of d evaluation, will tell u when to bring in d BNSc, this evaluation will give u 22points but if u add BNSC u get 21point from IQAS cos dey will recognise only d BNSc forward match to WES:
If u have RN RM or any other post basic pls run away from WES except if u have money for double evaluation. Now this is d reason WES will give u SSCE as Canadian equivalent with all these qualification, NB point factor 15,.
If u have RN, RM or any other post basic plus BNSc and wish to use WES pls just go straight to ur BNSc and leave all d diploma to avoid waste of time ur points after that will be 21 in d point grid.

For ICAS if ur plan is to go to Canada in 2019 pls use it even if u have any of the nursing qualifications u are very good to go by 2019 if express entry is still obtainable

If u have masters in Nursing or any other masters added to ur nursing degree pls use any of d agencies considering speed and processing times

Good afternoon everyone,

I just got back from the CID office Alagbon close, Ikoyi to inquire about police character certificate. The way they were acting was suspicious. i.e. I asked how much is it? The lady answered how much did you see online? She eventually told me to bring 1 passport and a photocopy of my international passport bio-data page. A man who works there was insisting i come with him and i had to tell him i don't know him and i came on my own. Please house, how can i tell that the police character certificate i am issued is authentic? Is there a site online i can put the ref no (if there is any)? or something i can do to be 100% sure? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

if it's easy to collect another one why not do that...if not other supporting documents for work experience like offer letter or payslip will cover for it...in my opinion

I believe the original itself is what should be notarised. By original, I mean the original executed copies should be notarised.

Thank you Ysteph and Ethelia. I appreciate your response, case sorted for me...

This may help people thinking of using the ACCA route as a second certificate, people can interpret this

ACCA is currently governed by the regulations of the UK Companies Act which state
that the final level of the examinations must be at least equivalent to a 3 year UK
degree. In 1993, ACCA's recognition as a recognised Qualifying Body under the
Companies Act 1989 meant that it had to set examinations which were at least
equivalent in standard to those required to obtain a degree from a university in the
UK. At that time, the standard of the Foundation Stage was similar to that of the first
year examinations of a 3 year degree programme, the Certificate Stage is similar to
the second year examinations, and the Professional Stage is similar to the final
examinations of a Masters degree.
The 2001 syllabus equivalents are: Part 2 is the same standard as a 3 year UK
degree programme, and Part 3 is the same standard as a UK Masters degree.
Completion of the Fundamentals Level of the 2007 syllabus has been equated to the
standard of a UK Bachelors degree. ACCA literature states that the Professional
Level examinations are set to a standard comparable to that required in the final
examination of a UK Masters degree.

So the interview took less than 30mins (CHC, Accra)

They just needed to clarify my work experience, ensure we still have enough funds and to be sure I'm ready to reenter the workforce, as I had taken time off work for a while to take care of family

I was asked for originals of evidence of salary payments (printed for over 5yrs) , payslips (gave them abt 22 months) , Bank stmts for last 6 months.

She asked questions about my work experince using each description for my NOC (2171), asked abt projects I handled and client, some otger fetails abt my salary, asked abt studies...went thru all docs and said she was satisfied

I was expecting her to apologise for taking me all the way to Accra but I didn't get that undecided grin

She asked if I wanted my meds extended, I said NO(expires July)

She said I'd have to go back to send our passports, I gently raised them up to show her I had them....then she said "photos"? and I answered that I had everything....she was like wow

They had a system downtime, so she asked that I get schedule A for my spouse across to them and pick up our passports by 9am next morning, if it fit into my schedule...so we agreed

She thanked me for being organised and we engaged in small talk and said our goodbyes

I picked up passports next morning

The end.....

Note: I had "ready to finalise" on my noted since last year September but sadly, London did not treat some of our files until February.

Well, i believe it came at the appointed time...

Interview calls are not to reject an application...just to address concerns...

Canadianfly:

Congrats. As someone already said, please share your interview story. Where did you have to appear? Lagos or Accra?
I see it took over a month to get interview call, did you have to send them a reminder or they called you on their own? I know some folks that have been notified for interview since Feb, and they're yet to be contacted with the details. Thanks.
