In other words, the presidency(Buhari) ordered the invasion of senate because Saraki
refused to do their bidding.

I still don't understand why people brazenly failed to admit that the illegal action of suspending a Senator representing his constituent for 6 months itself is provocative. The Senate President should apologize for causing the country this embarrassment and promise to henceforth act legally and morally on this case of suspension. He wants his own constituents represented but don't see anything wrong in denying other people's constituents of representation.

Another illiterate on the loose, when you are ignorant it pays to ask question but
as Buhari said you are too lazy to lift your hands.

I don't think so sir. No Senator has the right to suspend another Senator. The only authority to suspend a Senator is the constituents. This suspension is an aberration in democracy and it is the hangover of military mentality. It's illegal and immoral. Why on earth should Ilorin be represented and Delta central denied of representation? Is it the constituent that erred even if an error is committed? This nonsense has to stop and the courts should sanction any defaulting legislator and should be prosecuted after the expiration of his/her tenure. Their suspension is useless now because they can't physically bundle the Senator out of the Parliament.
Buhari doesn't have their time and he is not ready to share money so it's in their court now. The case of Jibrin is clear,he was part of those who padded the budget illegally,he doesn't have clean hands so he lost the moral authority.
you are right. what do you have to say this. omo-agege was part of the committee on ethics that suspended senator Ali ndume. Can I have your opinion on what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Everybody in Nigeria is a politician; politicians remember things are illegal only when it doesnt favour them.

This statement goes for both Sagay and the hordes of people who due to political sentiments, are blind to the simple political point Sagay tried to make.

Ebullience:
The Chairman of Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) has blamed Senate President Bukola Saraki for the invasion of the senate by suspected thugs on Wednesday.

Sagay explained that Saraki and his minions in the senate had been provoking people to take the law into their own hands.

The Senior Advocate said this while speaking to Punch.

He said, “This Senate led by Bukola Saraki has been provoking Nigerians for a long time. What happened today (Wednesday) was illegal; there is no doubt about that. But the provocation that this particular Senate has been inflicting on Nigerians has reached a boiling point.

“You cannot be enjoying the huge and enormous resources of the people, living in luxury and at the same time refusing to do your job, making trouble with the executive at the slightest opportunity, bringing the government to a standstill and then turning members of the Senate into puns who can be pushed here and there.

“I think Saraki has gone too far. While what happened today is illegal, I have no doubt in my mind that he and the group that surround him provoked it. Ultimately, I hold Saraki responsible for what happened today.”

DAILY POST reports that thugs suspected to be loyal to the suspended Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district, Ovie Omo-Agege had invaded the red chambers and forcefully took away the mace.

They broke into the chambers when plenary was going on, creating serious confusion and tension.

Few hours later, Sen. Omo-Agege was arrested in connection to the incident but was later released, after which he denied claims that he staged the incident.

But, but , but. . . .he is supposed to blame GEJ. . .

Hw did he steal? Was he not validly elected by the simple majority? Who asked APC to go calling a party meeting on the day a constitutional body ie the National Assembly would be inaugurated? Couldn't they respect national institutions? Was every other elected senator to have been kept waiting because a party wanted to have a meeting?

the judiciary have no rights whatsoever to interfere in the matters of the legislature.. the legislative arm make the rules, the judiciary only interprets.
what is happening in the USA presently shouldn't be allowed to happen here, because courts have put almost governments policies in the US on stagnation.

courts have no right to interfere with the national assembly.
they can even reduce the powers of the judiciary

The House of Assembly is an independent arm of the government just like the Judiciary and the Executive. They have internal mechanisms in resolving their issues, the suspended senator accused the red chamber wrongly and was penalized just like the house of Representatives suspended the member from Kano who raised the alarm on budget padding, the NJC retiring some of the judges accused of corruption.

The Executive in collaboration with some of this SANs (STUPID ADVOCATES OF NIGERIA) wants to destroy Democracy by intimating the other arms of govt that should be independent.

The Appeal Court in House of Assembly vs. Danna has ruled that the Senate does not have the power to suspend a Senator even for a single day as that violates the democratic rights of his constituents to full representation.

Agreed, the Senate as a body need rules to reign-in erring members, but there are many ways to discipline an erring Senator that will not rob his/her constituents due representation. The erring member can fined, removed from committee, demoted, loss privileges in the Red chamber, etc...All these can be effective.

By not amending the Ethic committee rules to conform with the Appeal Court ruling, it was illegal to suspend the Senator...If they did not like the Appeal Court ruling, they should Appeal it, but have to obey it until the Supreme Court says otherwise or if they are able to get a stay pending their appeal.

I can't agree less and to resolve this, they must have a way to insulate the constituents from the punishment arising from personal faults of their representatives. For example, the case of the legislators suspended so far was not arising from their direct responsibilities to their constituency. How does election reordering benefit the people of Delta Central? So it's the offending legislator that should be punished, maybe by loss of personal allowance or earn demerits that will earn him personal discomfort

. How I wish people can converse like this on this forum. In conclusion we should be able to separate governance and politics. My conclusion is that both the executive and legislative arm of this government are playing politics with governance and most Nigerian are taking sides in this politics instead of asking for good governance.
