As the 2019 general election approaches, more and more Nigerians are taking the issue of getting their PVCs (Permanent Voters Cards) seriously and a twitter user just shared how he disqualified 3 job seekers who claimed not to have PVC.

According to Afolayan Omotayo who shared the story on Twitter, he wrote;
"I helped a friend to conduct interviews for staffing in her office yesterday, 9 candidates were in attendance. I disqualified 3 of them who claimed not to have PVC automatically. That makes my job easy. It begins from there, extending to Mechanic, Electrician etc."

Very bad criteria he used, might have lost the best person for the job, what happens to accepting the beat candidate and showing him reasons why he has to get a PVC

In as much as we want Nigerians to get their PVCs, dis is simply wrong considering d hell most Ppl are going thru jus to pick theirs up or have it relocated to dem... If d process had been easy peasy den we can all assume dey probably don't want to pick it up...
While INEC is trying really hard to disenfranchise voters, U my friend are trying harder to make sure some Ppl remain unemployed

I was at the inec office from 7am till 4pm the day I went for mine, not everyone can surrender the whole day to get their PVC.

if u don't vote, u don't have the right to complain, government policies affect businesses so the man is right, how a sane human being will not go and get pvc is pathetic to me, it's not normal at all for an adult to seat and see people choose leaders for u...... more firm should emulate this man, even banks should start operation no pvc no access to account

Have you noticed that there has been a new zeal for people to get their PVCs and vote? which rarely happened in past elections. People now realise it is possible to vote out a sitting president and would be willing to try it again. Jonathan's removal strengthened Nigeria's democracy and the removal of Buhari would strengthen it further. The belief that followers can remove leaders is the undisputable power behind any democracy, less it is glorified dictatorship.

The American, French or British leaders don't behave rightly because they desire to, but because they fear and respect the power the people wield through the ballot.

The only thing the political class fear is revolution of the people. And elections are the institutional tool towards revolution.

This is why I am persuaded that more than anything else, the glory of Nigeria lies in the integrity of our electoral systems. People didn't start believing democracy in 1999 they started in 2015. Nigerians now know that if the most powerful Nigerian could fall through the ballot in 2015 then it can happen again!
