I agreed with this submission as I've searched and took critical look on both colours without any differences. However I observed that the Gold color actually has white color at the front side and Gold at the back. The white color for me is not acceptable as to call it Gold color you'll have to view from the rear side.
This might have led to preferences for the black color with higher demands hence sellers capitalise on this to jack up the price.
Anyway I've asked they send black color for me, like @Ebubemg...... I'll manage it like that.

gold is usually in higher demand than d likes of pink and blue but still more often than not, sell cheaper, blue mi note 3 is costlier than the black even when the black is more sought after. wondered y?

We all buy case of our choice to cover our phones.
I think the price difference between black and the other colors may be due to cost of production.
I also have still not known the special thing about black but I can categorically say that xiaomi created the dichotomy. Why? A poser to my cerebrum.

The summary is they get all colours at the same rate, the only time there is difference in price is when the phone is made of different material like ceramic. You are just nit-picking.

yeah, i have heard of 500naira payment for any parel above 500g, now my parcel was small and 400g..and they still wanted payment.
was really furious and in a bad frame of mind then, and i even paid for an item above 500g the day before.
i left the item for them, when the demanded payment again today......... let them eat it, good the item is expendable. wish there is someone i can report the matter too, i ready see the matter to the very end, i remember the guy and his phone story on this thread, sometime last year, the PO was the one calling/begging the guy to come and take his item, when heat from his superiors came down grin grin grin

Maybe you would see reasons now. The official mi china online store can't lie right, No?

I think you need to do some extensive research. Even jumia sold the gold and black variants of the note 5a prime for the same price and am pretty sure if they got it at different rates, it would reflect in pricing. Each man to his own though. I don talk my own.
