Hello all, this is how I was finally able to request to pay courier fees from WES CA to my institution for verification of my documents... So instead of waiting for 2-4 weeks for your verification to be sent via regular mail to your school that is far away from Lagos grin, you can pay courier fees to expedite the processes. I had to write the letter below and faxed it via hellofax as suggested on this group, this was after I had used the contact us 3 times and I never got a positive response. N/B: this request also attracted higher HST (ie instead of paying a total of $120.91 CAD for evaluation upgrade, I paid $216.96 CAD)

WES REFERENCE NO.: ---------------
Good day,
My name is ----------------. I would like to request to pay for my VDR to be sent via International Express ($85 CAD) from WES Canada to my Institution (University of -----) in Nigeria in order to expedite the request for verification of my B.Sc./M.Sc./PhD----- degree documents from the institution. This is because it takes a longer time for regular mails to be delivered within Nigeria.
Thank you.
Yours Sincerely,

My sister, this primary NOC issue caused confusion on this thread last year too. According to IRCC, one must meet the minimum requirement (i.e the work experience must be at least one year continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time) to be eligible for the FSW program. The rest of the work experience can be under multiple NOCs (A, B or 0).

I read the posts of some of the gurus on Canadavisa forum and they all said the same thing (i.e to be eligible, one must have at least one year continuous blah blah). But then, we are humans and we all make mistakes. I decided to check CIC's website for more details and I saw this:

Your work experience must be:

*at least 1 year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous:

-full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours) or
-equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours) or
-full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

Note that IRCC further subdivided "at least 1 year continuous work experience" into three groups (full-time at one job or equal amount in part-time or full-time at more than one job). Does the above (full-time at more than one job) means that one can combine work experience under the same NOC to meet the eligibility criteria (i.e at least one year continuous blah blah )? Well, I'm not sure of the right answer to the question because of the word "continuous". Or maybe the word "continuous" means there must be no gap between the first job and second job (both in the same NOC) that makes up the one year.

Anyway, since you said that your colleague's brother combined them and he will be traveling to Canada in July, grin then maybe it is possible to combine work experience under the same NOC to meet the 1 year eligibility criteria.

The third subclass settles it.. Continuous at an NOC with different companies. The thing is no break even in months.

There should be no breaks in between? I hope not. Please see the below info I just saw on CanadaVisa forum:

"I got my COPR with an equivalent of 4 years of work experience from lots of different jobs some full time some not. None of which lasted more than 10 months. (They were all under the same FSW NOC code). But i did have a run of more than 1 year in one type of job. I also had 2.5 yrs in the middle where i was back at Uni and then had a different career completely.

I got complete reference letters showing all the requirements for 2.5yrs of work experience. Then for the other jobs i used old contracts, job descriptions, payslips and governement tax letters to prove that they were real.

They look at work experience over the last 10 years so i reckon if you've got more than 1560 hours in one role, then you should be good to go."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I dont think gaps matter as i had them and got my copr.

As for the 1 year, i had a run of over 1 year continuous so can't be definite on that for you. If you do go for it, then I also think it would be worth putting a paragraph into your letter of explanation (this accompanies your application) and just be upfront about it saying you have 2.5 yrs experience and its made up of 4 different periods. Plus in your very first role (and possibly third even) you exceeded the required hours for CICs 1 year full time."

1. In a case where the reference does not state all your duties, it may better to do an LOE including the other duties and state why they were not included. The Lead Statement of the NOC is very important, the duties must cover at least 75% of the NOC description and align with the lead statement.

Well said! The case analyst noted this in my GCMS notes too---- "Letter dated blah blah appears to confirm employment in declared occupation throughout the specified period, and provides a job description which is consistent with the lead statement and main duties as set out in the declared NOC category".

Change that address to Nigerian.. U will get the soft copy of ur ECA the very day they finalize the assessment... U will get back ur cash to whoever helped u pay and reconcile with the individual. The money is too much to fritter away.

I checked the thread and this is what I can deduce from the person's post. The person said this---[i](none of which lasted more than 10 months)
and then this---(but I did have a run of more than 1 year in one type of job). However, the person didn't mention his/her primary NOC. So it is possible that the person's primary NOC is the "one year plus work experience". Yes, one can combine NOC but the issue is the primary NOC must be at least one year continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time... Note the word "continuous".

Anyway, I think you can combine the work experience but there should be no gap between the first job and second job that makes up the one year. The work experience must also be in the same NOC.

I will go with employment. Government triggers unneccesary security screening. Technically its an employment activity and you are not holding public office. You will provide the name of the ministry and references. Let them decide if it's government.

Let others weigh in.

So sorry about the refusal. There is no harm in trying. You can do both (i.e raise CSE with all evidence and also reapply). @Nozzle raised CSE and also reapplied. Fortunately for him, his application was reopened.

Some actually has done it and was given a 1year Canadian college certificate for passing F2 n F3 after claiming exemption for F1.

The issue is does this college certificate qualify as a second certificate?

Those that know better should chook mouth ontop the matter.

Yes. According to IRCC, to get points for "two or more certificates", one of the certificates should be a three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree PLUS any of the results in the sections below (source). The "sections below" refers to:

1. Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
2. Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
3. One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.

To claim points under number three, the ECA assessment results include:

College Certificate
Completion of College-level certificate
University Certificate
University Diploma
One-year certificate in [name of discipline]
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate

Therefore, you are good to go if the ECA summary is "College Certificate" or "Completion of College-level certificate".

Hi, So I’m wondering, for the 50 additional points for someone with 2 or more post sec school certificates and a CLB 9 or higher, how can it be claimed by a lawyer who only evaluates his LLB (without the law school transcript)?

Yes bbaby84. That's correct.

2 years and 4 months in my primary NOC (different companies) and then 1 year NYSC in another NOC.

Thanks again everyone. You have all been very helpful. God bless.

I think as long as all the experiences were earned under Noc A O and B you have nothing to worry about.

Just get a detailed letter for your duties in the 4 places you worked.

Leaving out ur nysc will only be fine if ur Crs for 2years experience is not less than the ITA cutoff.
