donstan18:Whatever good or kind gesture one decides to do shouldn't be turned into a social event or event to gather likes and admiration on the social media. I honestly don't think it was necessary to post it on the social media, after all there's absolutely nothing to gain from it . I have seen people do similar things without making a huge fuss about it. Although, I still maintain that it is a kind gesture nonetheless 4 Likes 2 Shares |

greiboy: -People can be motivated by him in helping the poor. -Every kindly helper deserves a big praises and likes from people. -Our concentration should be on the fact that he helped a poor boy, not how he brought it to social media. -Even the bible publicized how Jesus helped the poor, they didn't hide it. I simply don't think it's necessary to say anything concerning how he brought it to social media. 47 Likes |

donstan18:What happened to Jesus afterwards Those who once praised him eventually preferred a common criminal over him. Some of his closest associate denied him before coming back to their senses. So human beings are like that, if your intentions was to help in order gain accolades for doing good, you might be disappointed on the long run @ inspiring others That is a fallacy Anyone ready to help others will do it nonetheless, but if i were to take a your argument as legitimate, I believe a story could have suffice not a gallery of pictures on the internet . In summary, I think it was right to help the kid, but I feel he might be doing it for all the wrong reasons 1 Like 1 Share |

Elthugnificent:what you are doing now is exactly why I had my reservations A wise man once told me something citing Jesus's story in the bible, He said I should never help anyone in order to solicit a favorable public opinion because their praises can turn to insults tomorrow and just as the praises were soothing, the insults will be just as painful. bear in mind it will have been much easier to support your position for cheap likes 2 Likes 2 Shares |

donstan18:No he didn't. He didn't need congratulations for doing a good thing. As far as we know, the little boy might not even appreciate his efforts in the future, although I pray the story won't end like that. I wait for the day a lunatic will turn this story against him to understand the depth of my disagreement with what he did. 1 Like |

greiboy:You might be the one on here on nairaland looking for cheap likes, whatever that means. Check when I registered and the number of post I got. Immediately I saw the title of the thread I knew someone with your stereotypical mindset would surely post exacts hat you did, hence why I decided to educate you it. Even Jesus show-off his kind gesture by transcribing it in the Bible. If there was social media then, he would have updated his status by himself. So take a chill pill and allow people to help others. Okay simple question; would you prefer he doesn't rander any help entirely Or randering help and putting it on social media? 8 Likes |

Elthugnificent:I guess judging by the numbers of push backs I got and the number of affirmation his actions got , your intuition couldn't work out the comment that will get the most resentment from the nairaland audience. right? I don't write my comments to solicit affirmation, I write what I like. Take a good look at my moniker again Jesus never showed off anything in the bible, the bible was not written by Jesus, but his disciples and early Christians, particularly the new testament. I don't know where you got that idea from. I will also appreciate it if you could point out where Jesus took credit for any miracle he did without mentioning God and giving praises to God (Jehovah) in the bible. I honestly think the pill is meant for you because you jumped on my comment and I gave you reasons why I can't support what he did. I appreciated his efforts for rendering the help, but I disagree with the celebrity style of social media attention seeking syndrome. Hope you can comprehend that. . You should observe comments before jumping on it next time. 2 Likes 1 Share |

greiboy:God inspired the Bible writers as such he did wrote the Bible, and you Christians believe that God=Jesus then I can rightly say that Jesus wrote the Bible. But that's by the way. You are yet to answer this simple question... Should he rander help and make it public? Or He should not rander help entirely? |

Nice gesture,A very good act! Thank you Sir, God bless. But what's he trying to do? Changing a poor boy's life reality show? I think this man is doing this for the wrong purpose! Attention seeking! 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Elthugnificent:@ emboldened is the most silly question I have ever seen Must he do either of the two? such questions can only make sense if the positions are direct alternative in that situation Besides I hope you saw where I wrote that 'this is nice" in my initial comment to praise his kind gesture God didn't inspire the bible. The Bible are historical events that happened in the middle east at a particular period in time. I might agree that it has spiritual meaning to Christians tho. I thought our arguments were based on rational thoughts just now. I am surprised you have switched to spiritual aspects in about three comments. 1 Like |

Re: Man Gives Scholarship To Ikechukwu Samuel, A Poor Boy He Met On Abia Street by Elthugnificent(m): 9:52am On Apr 27, 2018 |
greiboy:I am not spiritual in any way, you started it by quoting someone you claimed to be wise. Of course the Bible is a historical account, who wrote the book of genesis? There are many instances of events in the Bible that you can't but wonder how the person that wrote it knew all that, and the answer Christian give is that the Bible was was inspired by god. Okay now back to the topic. You said you commended him right? But there was a "but" after the commend, as such undemanding the praise itself. Let assume I say something like, I am really happy that she made a first class but it is in a northern school though... Does that praise seem valid? Why can't I just stop at been happy for her. The point here is, you should have just commend him without spurring profanity about him displaying it on social media. 1 Like |

Elthugnificent:I don't understand your point anymore bruv. The word "but" is merely used to signal a disagreement in a statement and not all disagreements are exactly the same. disagreements in a statement might range from questioning a motive to accusing someone of outright fraud etc . The fact that I appreciated him and disagreed with his social media attention seeking exploits doesn't mean I don't think he did a good thing. These are two different issues altogether, unlike your analogy which is still talking about the same thing. Hope you get that, right ? @Jesus story The story of Jesus is available on most common historical, fictional and spiritual books. |
