That's what ALL armies are about-training at the personal,section,coy,btn and high level bgde and corps exes maybe once or twice yearly. I wish I had some hard stats but in any army this cost may compare with acquisitions and welfare. IIRC in the early 90s under a low level arms embargo the KDF sacrificed new acquisitions for training.

US doesn't use the SCAR anymore and hasnt for a long time. Best weapon is also largely based on opinion. All first rate weapons are generally equal in performance.

IS THAT SO? I did hear they were dropping the SCAR L but not the captured 7.62 NATO H version seen here with a Talib . I can only find wiki:

However, they will continue to purchase the SCAR-H version, and also plan to purchase 5.56 mm conversion kits for the SCAR-H, allowing it to substitute for the SCAR-L.[13]

Well I have not seen a SCAR either online or in person in ages. Of course I haven't seen every SF operative but it still seems odd to not see a single weapon.

And imo it doesn't make much sense to take the SCAR H because the M14 is a more accurate platform. Yes the m14 is bigger so less wieldy but it's more accurate and it's made by an American company (actually a bigger factor than you would think the XM8 project was dropped for a couple of reasons but one big one was that it was a German weapon). It will serve its role as a marksman rifle better.

I was very interested in the civilian version of the Scar H, however the South African importers make it very expensive.
