jaxxy: YOU ARE WRONG. They do NOT know the 'difference' between any African countries. Once they hear 'Nigeria', they hear 'Africa', which to them means ''no schools'', ''poor villages'', food aid trucks, and charities. Despite the fact that Africa relies for less than 5% of its annual GDP on 'foreign aid'. The western media has deliberately distorted the image of Africa to the world. If you go on Youtube, you'll see many videos by Africans correcting western impressions by showing pictures of major cities like Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, Abuja etc, and you will see hundreds of responses by Americans and others saying they HAD NO IDEA that Africa had any of those developments. You can watch American TV for 10 years and NOT see ONE single image of a modern African setting that does not relate to poverty, war, disease, or wildlife. For the majority of Americans - indeed for the majority of people on earth, OUR MODERN AFRICA - of banks, universities, shopping malls, expressways, nightclubs, concerts, restaurants, flyovers, TV stations, skyscrapers, and well-heeled people - does not actually exist. 6 Likes |

Proudlyngwa:Bros it's not our bigmen! It starts with you and me! Does it not disgust you that there is no SMS service in Nigeria for donating to internally displaced people in Bakassi, Benue Nassawara, Zamfara, Borno, EDO, and even Abuja, but we have an SMS service for donating money to sex and promiscuity on BBN? I seriously wonder where our morality has disappeared to in this country. We are raising a generation of useless young people who know nothing other than sex and iPhones. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Rosskii:Bros what you have written here does not change the fact that Nigeria has the highest population of Internally displaced people in the world. It doesn't change the fact that more than 70million Nigerians live below 1 dollar a day. It doesn't change the fact that Nigeria is one of the few countries on earth where Polio and Lassa Fever are still endemic. It doesn't change the fact that Nigeria needs billions of dollars in aid for its starving populatuon. I don't understand why the typical Nigerian Youth lives in denial of all these facts. You guys always want to argue that Nigeria is not what the West portrays it to be, when in actual fact the level of underdevelopment and backwardness is even underreported! Why not dissipate all this energy you use in denying and arguing that Nigeria is not poor, into helping your fellow poor Nigerians! Organise charities to cater to the needy. Send aid teams comprising young people to conflict areas in Nigeria. The Nigerian Youth should stop living in denial and start effecting some change in the society!!! 2 Likes |

SBG04:Have you checked my signature. I try my best to enlighten the public on a lot of things. I run paid services on Facebook to reach out to a lot of people so as to enlighten the mind, but I always end up disappointed. That does not mean I will give up. I don't have the financial muscle to pull stunts, that is why I said our big men need to do more. We need to be relentless in turning the minds of majority towards positivity, because the inconsequential people you ignore today, will be the nuisances you might encounter tomorrow. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

codemaniacs:So if they don't donate to your poor and starving brothers and sisters in Nigeria, Who Will? Is it you that is too busy spending N20k to vote your favourite housemate on BBN? Or Or the Nigerian youth that is too busy donating millions of naira to Miracle and Nina for their interesting sexual exploits on TV? the typical Nigerian Youth that is obsessed with IPhones and sex shows? 1 Like 1 Share |

SBG04: Brother and what is the typical black American youth doing....? I have said it there is no difference between blacks anywhere in the world. Only few makes the world exceptional and are quickly absolved by the whites. We blacks really need to earn respect for ourselves make things happen for ourselves... without the dependent of the white. We need a unified culture that will dignify and put out image straight. Forget being a citizen of the develop country ... when you are black you are black.... I was at at park yesterday despite the love my family received from the white guys around ... one small boy was still indirectly making a monkey gesture. I just ignored. However that is to tell you they still mock you behind. About the monkey gesture thing... I know as far as there is a yellow monkey... they the "whites"are also monkeys So if you call me monkey I call you monkey. 3 Likes |

SBG04: Stop quoting discredited garbage. If you really believe that 70 million Nigerians are living on less than 350 Naira a day, you are the most foolish person on earth. It doesn't change the fact that Nigeria is one of the few countries on earth where Polio and Lassa Fever are still endemic. Opioid addiction is the number one killer in America today, and kills thousands of people more per year than Lassa fever and Poilo combined have killed in Nigeria, yet NO AMERICAN will accept any insult to his country the way you want the whole world to insult and demean you. Lesson: the fact that your country has issues does not make it worthless. It is not a crime to be a developing nation. It doesn't change the fact that Nigeria needs billions of dollars in aid for its starving populatuon. What starving population? Please go and take pictures of these starving Nigerians and post, let us see. Or else, zip your nasty, fake news peddling lips. As for Nigeria needing ''billions in aid'', you must be living on Planet Jupiter. Our foreign reserves just hit $60 billion. We don't need anybody's aid. 8 Likes |

spiritedtete:Continue living in denial, continue arguing Nigerian/Ghanian jollof, continue voting with N20k or N50k for your favourite housemate on bbn, and then when the rest of the world scoffs at your insensitivity and wickedness towards your fellow suffering Nigerians, tell them to shut up and mind their business. Tell them it's a lie that Nigerians are poor. Tell them We have skyscrapers and bigmalls. Tell them everything here is perfect and we don't need their sympathy. |

codemaniacs: That is why am trying to do what am doing. The painful thing is I don't even have the time or resources, just the passion. I look forward to a Nigeria where we will drink pure water and will not respond by instinct to drop it on the ground, to a Nigeria where we won't see it as an act of cowardice to queue. 1 Like 1 Share |

Rosskii: Haha like the Nigerian prince who needs to send his billion dollars inheritance to america for safe keeping. Well I do agree with u the western media for sm odd reason which I don't yet know portrays Africa in that light and yet in a short time has given dubai a world class status. Cud it be we arent makerting ourselves Correctly? Also very few Americans go out of their way, beyond the media to know the truth, development and growth going on in Africa even tho i don't think we are there yet. However i do think the perception about SA is changing due to the positive exposure its been getting over the years unlike Nigeria. |

Rosskii:This has to be the most foolish comment I've seen on this thread and it's a pity that this is how the typical young Nigerian thinks!!! Someone who counts foreign reserves as a measure of socio-economic wellbeing. Mr ignorant Nigerian Youth, we actually have just USD47 billion in our foreign reserves. This has very little socio-economic significance because it just tells an outsider that the price of oil has been high this year. Finish! Per capital income in Nigeria is one of the lowest in the world! Access to health care, security and life expectancy in Nigeria are very abysmal! To underscore how bad things are in Nigeria, Nigeria has less than 7 radiotherapy machines in the entire country of which 5 are faulty!!!! For a population of 180million! If you go down with cancer today in Nigeria, you're as good as dead because the chance of you getting treatment is very low. Nigeria has one of the world's severe cases of Kidney failure yet we have less than 3 centres in the country that can perform kidney transplants. While all this is happening, we have young Nigerians donating money to sex shows and arguing Nigerian/Ghanian jollof!!! Mr lazy and ignorant Nigerian Youth, I really pity you and the future you're carving for yourself if you think Nigeria is a paradise as it is. 1 Like |

codemaniacs: But how much have we realized this? You made a valid point. Just like I was on the flight with a white guy one day.. after much talk about how great and influential we blacks to the world... he shut me up with few sentences... he said until he begins to ride on plane made by Africans cars made by Africans... tv phones made in in Africa. That I should quit talking and face my bar parlour life with my African brothers. I shutup actually. |

codemaniacs: It is not a day job. I have been able to motivate some people, even in the creeks where I work. The most difficult part is creating awareness, subconsciously people will start doing right if you keep on hammering it to them. We need to put in effort and put it in consistently. |

spiritedtete: You are a big, ignorant dullard.. Was Obama not a black man that ruled America for nearly a decade? Did he not improve their economy? What has happened in South Africa? Do you know the South African economy has QUADRUPLED in size since black rule began in 1994? Do you know that millions of blacks have risen to the middle class, whereas they were little more than shanty-dwelling slaves under apartheid? Do you know that millions of new homes have been constructed by the ANC govt? MUMU. Don't use your head. Colonised thing. 3 Likes |
