That is the whole point of the test, it's to weed out the pretenders
seems you haven't met ladies before?

there was one that even borrowed money to sponsor her marriage cos she was really desperate.

but do know what she did atlast?

so forget,if you meet a pretender +desperate ladies you go know seh this test is just nonsense.

So because you won't look the other way when you see an assault case means that everybody who sees an assault case will also not look away?

I can see that you don't know how the real world works. You're either naïve or living in denial.

Same logic. Different people want different things in their future spouse.

If for a lady inability to provide by the man is a deal breaker then that's her choice.

Expecting everyone to love pork simply because you love pork is naïveté at its best.
Apparently you live in a world of your own

There are thousands agencies set up to solicit public support and raise awareness on cases of assault in relationships. Anyways, that is simply by the way.

Anyone that refuses to speak against the wrong doing in our society have only forgotten that he or she lives within the society and he/she is not safe from falling a victim of the said evil act.

Like I said earlier

Money is an exhaustible commodity, any body that goes into a relationship for money or builds his/her affection around money will always suffer as the money comes and goes. The person will always be disappointed and never satisfied. The person is shallow.

Even if I were to take your argument as legitimate

What is stopping the lady from looking for her own money? After all, we all go to school to acquire skills these days.

@ emboldened

Obviously she didn't do it for the money, maybe for another shallow reason

But I believe for anyone who feels threatened or unsure of the affection of his/her partner is tied to his/her money, this test is accurate and appropriate. t

Yet, she borrowed money to do her own wedding? where's the money then?

more like she contributed to the wedding with some money, not that she did the wedding herself.
but she regained more of that after the wedding cos she had a target.
the marriage didn't last upto a year.

Exactly our point,

if the guy faked financial inadequacy and have hidden his financial prowess from the lady before the wedding, I am sure she will have lost out like the girl we are busy poking fun at on the thread.

Financial litmus test is bae grin

How about marrying a lady for her looks. Is that shallow too?
Of course it is. But we are more up in arms against a lady who would rather secure her future than a man who married for beauty.

I keep repeating it but you seem unable to understand except from your own worldview.

People marry for different reasons. It's not for you to say that one is moral or immoral simply because you won't do it or you don't condone it.

Women marry broke guys all the time. And some can't.

Some men can marry women who are broke, plain-faced, flat features, from low background/class and some can not.

Let's get over ourselves already and stop painting every relationship with the same brush.

It doesn't work that way.

The only time it's unacceptable is when the woman tricks the man that she'll stand by him through thick and thin and then absconds when thin comes around.

Then you can talk about morality.

@ emboldened makes me question your age and maturity

Hope you know dating is quite different from marriage?

Human wants are unlimited, if we are to list what we find attractive in the opposite sex, I am sure we won't be able to find a suitable partner, but marrying a guy/lady solely because of money is extremely shallow. I am sure if you have spent a day alone hustling you will understand better.

Bear I mind, I haven't be specific about any gender throughout our conversations. So you should realize that you are the one not ready to see the world beyond little enclave.

I am off for now

And the bolded there also makes me question your age.

Inability to step into someone else's shoes isn't maturity.

But there's no need to continue this back and forth.

You won't see things from any other perspective than the supposed "moral" construct you've made up.

Let's call it quit shall we. Long arguments bore me.

The young man should forget his archaic antics and marry the lady cos woman will do same. Women are commodities that must be bought and maintained with money. Buy your kaya and forget the drama.

Nigerian ladies...

You can't marry an unemployed man but you yourself ain't employed..

I love this new wave.. guys should be faking broke to catch the leeches.
Never marry a broke lady if you're made.
don't settle for less
Just as ladies shld be faking pregnancy with all possible seriousness. Ladies also fall victims of fake , plastic love too.

What kind of stupid ass test is that? it's just like her telling the man she slept with his best friend which is a test, the guy will also break up with her even if it's not true, who wants to suffer in this wicked country.
they are two different things. if I tell a lady I've lost my job, if she really believes in me she'll stick around but when u tell a guy u cheated on him is he supposed to say he doesn't believe u did? totally different tests.

Relationships based on lies, I hate it.

Be plain and open to yourselves.

That's how one ex said he has lost his job, and since I knew this guy, his ten kobo has never dropped, when he claimed he was working.. He's always having one issue or the other to spend money on , while on facebook I get to see him balling with his friends in club. Even when am ill and broke back then, he will still say he's broke. It's my male friends whom I friend zoned that will come to my rescue. And they will inreturn say, what are u doing with this guy sef? angry
What's he good for anyways? I will sighs and give excuse that hes not in town that's why. The guys will just shake their head at me and still help me anyways. It got a stage I had to breakup, cause it was like am dating myself, no support from him whatsoever whenever am broke. But when he noticed I have money,he wil come up with one story that he needs to pay his cousin school fees, me sef will say Eeyah sorry dear, I just paid my rent, am just left with 5k. We were like cat and dogs, no one was ready to drop a dime to assist each.
I got tired of the toxic relationship and called it quits. The day I called it quits, I he laughed and said he was testing me, to know if I love him. I looked at him with disgust! You are sick upstairs! Abeg bounce off! Am thru with you. Go and date another girl and hold your money like iron bars. A relationship where we can't help each other financially is no relationship. Do u think sex is my problem? Am tired! Its over! This relationship was based on lies and I opened up everything about myself to u. So get off my case!
I was so relieved breaking up from him.. He can lie for Africa.

After a while, I realised he truly lost his job when he said he has been sacked.. Can u imagine? And he said it wasn't true and he was just testing me. Such guys I hate for life. God knows I hate lies.
You have, your babe no taste your ten kobo. As you are fired, won't his situation be worse off? You weren't a source of solace and help to me when u have. Now u don't have, u now want to depend on me bah? God forbid! I don't pity such guys. They can go to blazes for all I care. cheesy
