by most accounts pope Leo was no saint but there is no proof he said those things, in fact those quote appeared long after his death as polemical rhetoric from his enemies

Well there is equally no proof of the existence of Jesus existed but people around the world serve the concept

you may say that, I could even go and provide written records and you'll say they were made up.

I know how the argument goes, I have been in one of such.


but for me, the issue isn't about the "records", the proof that Jesus existed is the faith of his Church, many who lived around his time testify to it, even at the cost of their lives and that lived testimony it for me a reality.


if any would deny the life of Christ even with such vigorous witness from the early Church, then I simply consider such persons biased with an agenda, such person could deny anything.
