if you want bsc in telecoms You have to do your research
mostly people asked to write exam before entering are mostly MBA students like my elder bro wrote Gmat for Thomson rivers university so as i said it all depends on the school

Good! Since you've already acquired acceptance letter from the new institution, simply notify CIC of the new change of institution. You can email your previous institution of the change and provide evidence through your cic account, you mustn't go to the school physically prior letting them know about the change.
To notify CIC of the change, simply create a CIC account if you applied through paper route and link your application online and if online route, you can continue with your cic account. It's very easy! If you don't have the details of your visa application, request for your details from your your Agent.

Is it also possible to switch from an MBA to an accelerated bachelor's of 2years. I have a similar situation, I got my study permit using my MBA admission but have just recently got admsiion to study another bachelor's with UBC which is a preferred course. My fear is that since they are not on the same level, it might affect my visa. Kindly advise

In your case, i best advise you get into Canada first and your visa stamped before notifying CIC about the change, since you're going for an academic program that is lower to your previous intended program. While in Canada, you can change freely without restrictions.

Does anyone here know how quickly people at Children Practice forward one's medical results to the CIC? I had my medicals today and was told it will take them up to five days to forward the results.

Total your tuition fee and annual living expenses of 10,000CAD. Your sponsor should have X2 of the total amount as available balance.

Hello my fellow nairaland families pls I really need an advice on something which I believe will really help me.

Guys I'm 28 years old and I just made my WAEC result last year, ofcus this is not my first time of writing one but like I said I just made a presentable result, my concern on which I am writing this is I plan on studying for an undergraduate degree in Canada but I don't really know my chances of getting approved for a visa. I'm 28 years old and I only have WAEC as my qualification because after my high school I was opportune to get a well paying job in which I saved a lot to preparing an average secure future for my self but I know I made the mistake of not trying hard enough to get my WAEC result on time because I believed with money I can get the education I want as long as I can afford it but now I know I can afford to study in Canada but my question is will I get approved of the visa and that is because of the reasons I have stated above.

Your sincere honest opinion will be much appreciated but please don't judge me for my mistake.

For example, which of these scenearios is best advised
Tuition= 11600, living expenses=22000, others= 5000. Total = 38600. Availabe funds = 46000.
Or
Tuition =11600, living expense =11000, others 3000. Total= 25600. Available funds=46000.

NB: the applicant wont be paying tuition in second yr.

Clearly, you’re not enlightened about the subject. You can google “progidy finance” and read about it. I know a lot of people that have gotten loans from the platform.

I don’t know anything about the organization you speak about. If you know “a lot of” people who have gotten loans from them, it is bemusing to me why you would come here and ask how a student visa would fare with a loan. Are you working for the loan company or really seeking an answer? If you are really seeking an answer, those lots people you know who have gotten a loan from that organization, should been your case study. A student loan before a visa officer in my opinion will not fare well. You might be denied based on lacking asset in your country to induce your return.

The second scenario is what you are suppose to put. But funds available is $25,600. That is funds available for one year of study. The visa officer will compute the rest, funds available in succeeding years, from the funds balance in your statement of account presented. If they have any doubts, they will ask you to pay. Don’t worry, I have seen people do it both ways and succeeded. Put total available to them for the whole years of program or just one year. The VOs are trained in interpreting how much is available to you for your study based on how much money you have. They hardly miss it. But the correct one is to indicate how much available to you for one year! And be sure to explain in your SOP that you got a tuition waiver for the second year!

You have to scale through a lot of obstacles with the VO. You have to justify why at 28 going for an undergraduate course, why they should believe you are a genuine student. You have to justify why you want to study in CAnada and not Nigeria. Is the course you are interested in not available in higher and tertiary institutions in Nigeria? Visa officers have started doing their own searches and not depending on what people tell them. You have to also show reasons why they should believe you would return to NIgeria after your studies. If you are a self sponsored student and single and don’t have parental support in terms of coming from a financially buoyant family, it’s going to a rough road to travel. I wish you the best. Get abled hands to help you and you might win. But it will be very tough for you is my speculation.

If you apply for admission and get an acceptance from another school, you can. You cannot simply switch. You have to be accepted first to a school and then you can switch. So if another school accepts and gives you admission, that is all it takes to switch. Go to your online profile of CIC and make that switch here in Nigeria before leaving or when you get to Canada. MBAs are quite expensive, so I see your logic.

I am self sponsored and I have been working for the past 10- years. I was denied last year September on insufficient funds(GCMS notes reveals "recent lumb sum deposits from unknown origin"). The money was invested in treasury bills and fixed deposit and was liquidated into my account prior to printing my statements to ensure the funds are available and accessible for my studies.

I want to re-apply again this fall but this time, I avoided re-investing the money into fixed tenor investment to avoid liquidation into my account at maturity prior to my application. How best can I convince the VO to believe the funds is mine because sincerely it is mine. It is also very frustrating living money in accounts without interest when I could have made fortune from investment.

My total tuition in Windsor is C$ 27,500 and I have deposited about C$ 18,000 and I have over $9000 in my Dom Account including more than enough funds in my salary account.

I am also married with a daughter but my wife is not accompanying me to Canada now because of her work.

The best way to tackle is to pay one full year tuition and make sure money in investment is liquidated and available in immediately exportable forms. If you don’t want to liquidate, paying one year full tuition and having 10k in dormiciliary account, would also do.
